Please release Kelvin Constitution to the C Store!!!

I've spent over $100 purchasing keys and master key sets to try to unlock one..stinking...Kelvin Constitution ship and nothing. PLEASE....before I die of a brain aneurysm from stress-apointment, release the Kelvin Constitution(with new bridge interiors, if possible) to the C store so I can buy it there.

    Lockbox ships will never be C-Store ships because Cryptic and CBS want to keep them rare. Until July 2016, all Lockbox ships were ships that belonged to a npc faction or from the 29th Century while C-Store ships were 23rd to 25th Century ships that belonged to a playable faction. Since it doesn't make sense for a 25th Century Starfleet Captain from the STO Universe to command a 23rd Century ship from the Kelvin Universe, then it was put in a Lockbox.

    If you want a particular ship, then sell Lockbox Keys on the Exchange and buy the Lockbox ship on the Exchange or use another method to earn Energy Credits like what @azrael605 did. You might get lucky and get the ship in less than 20 tries, but the odds are severely against you. It is your choice if you want a guaranteed method to get the ship or pray to the RNG gods.

    On PC, $100 would have gotten you 500+ million EC to put towards buying one from another player.

    Buy keys, sell for EC on the exchange, buy the ship you want for EC.

    It will never happen. The same is true of every other lock box ship. And to think that $100 worth of keys would have easily bought a JJprise if your timing was good. Maybe you'll get better fortune when it's added to the infinity lock box.

    All currently available Lockbox ships will be much easier to get when the Tier 7 Infinity Lockbox is available.

    It really is a mistake to open the boxes with the intent of getting the Rare Uber Prize. That's just setting yourself up for disappointment. Me, I open the boxes for all the more common stuff, and regard the occurrence of a ship as a bonus.... which is good, because it took me something like 3-4000 lobi worth of boxes (spread over years, buying keys with Dil & EC), before I got a Herald Quas (yep, not even the rarest ship in that lockbox).

    I'll just probably repeat what has been said earlier, but...

    Yeah. Instead of opening lockboxes, you're better off buying the keys and selling them on the Exchange. I did it just yesterday, and collected over 500 Million EC under ten minutes of time. Enough to buy a D4x directly from the Exchange.

    I tried to win the Kelvin Connie through lock boxes. After a while I decided to sell keys and bought it off the exchange for $75M

    It's actually possible.

    There were at least 3 Kelvin Constitutions selling for between 480m EC and 500m EC last night. They are gone now. The lowest price is currently 600m EC.

    Yeah this is what I did back in ... what, August? Spend a ton of money opening boxes, got fed up and sold keys instead and got it that way, plus a vengeance and a JHDC with the Lobi I had earned. Then for giggles I opened 5 boxes on a klink and got that ship on the second box ...

    Of course, back when I did all this the JJ-Prise was going for about half of what it goes for now ...

    If things haven't changed with the handling of the franchise again, I guess the best thing to do would be to wait for the next Infinity lockbox event that will, this time, include the Kelvin ships. There will be more Konnies and their prices will significantly drop as a result, especially since they're one of the most sought ships around.

    Those poor people wanting a D4x or a T'lAru, though...

    (shrug) Well... all I can say to this is, thank you for supporting the game.

    I know it's been said already, but I think it bears repeating: Please, never open a bunch of boxes expecting to win the ship. It's a recipe for disappointment, and it can get quite costly. I recommend only opening boxes for lobi or maybe some stuff you can sell on the exchange. If you do luck out and get the ship, that's awesome, but it's very rare so don't count on it. As others have pointed out above, it's much better to sell keys and/or craft stuff to sell on the exchange. That way you can save more of your real money and make plenty of EC in the process.

    That was how I bought my Kelvin Connie and Vengeance a few months ago; I bought some of those promo R&D boxes, then sold them in the exchange along with some keys and tech upgrades that I'd crafted. I made hundreds of millions of EC in a matter of hours, and added that to all the EC that I'd already been saving up to that point.

    So it's very doable; it just takes a bit of time, effort and patience. I had very little knowledge or experience with wheeling and dealing on the exchange (I honestly had no idea what I was doing at first. lol), and I was still able to pull it off. So if I could do it, anyone can and so can you.

    There's also a legitimate strategy to timing your purchases on the exchange. Lockbox ships can rise and fall in price. I followed JJprise prices from it's initial release until the Sphere builder lock box was released. The price rose and fell for between 280 million (very briefly) and up to 600 million EC. I haven't followed it since then. So assuming that the OP had spent the time following and understanding pricing trends, he could have easily had his ship for way under $100. However, most players don't realize that they can follow trends and patterns until the right time to buy has come. I wouldn't worry about it too much though. The price should come back down a bit once the ship hits the infinity box.

    And many others have spent just as much if not more.

    I understand your frustration, and you have my condolences, but just putting the ship in the C-Store would be highly unfair to those that have already obtained the ship through keys.

    Cryptic has never gone back and put a Lock Box ship in the C-Store, and they never will. Your best option, as said before, is to sell those keys for EC and buy the ship off the exchange.

    Once it was released via lockbox or lobi, any C-store possibility went out the window.
    There would be a revolt from those who obtained it already.

    Sorry but before they do that hell will freeze over. Cryptic is making a boat load of cash off the keys so why would they cut a source of income? Plus why should JJ fanbois get that ugly ship in the C-store while the rest of us get stuck with a very pricey and very low drop rate RNG box for the TOS T-6 Constitution?

    The price for KT ships is about either to bottom out hard or skyrocket, depending on whether or not they get folded into the infinity box. Odds seem good they will, but it's not a given due to the possibility of licensing complexities. Lets have this conversation again in a couple week when the probabilities collapse into "yeah, now we know". KT boxes are an item I still cheerfully horde in my alt bank spaces because they're gonna be worth either dirt or megabucks when we find out.

    However, if you're buying keys and opening lock boxes with your eyes strictly on the grand prize... just STOP. Like stop and never do it again. EVER. If you're cringing at a mere ONE HUNDRED tries at a 1:200 item, you're just not in the financial bracket that should be doing that. Sell keys, amass Ec, buy someone else's risk. Because that someone else probably knows how to make money off of MOST of the things that fall out of boxes, not just the ships. While you are seemingly ignoring the 100 lesser prizes you received.

    I took the advice of this forum and sold the actual boxes that the Konnie Came in on the exchange ( I was only getting 14 million for them at the time ) and then bought it off in the exchange for 200 million.

    I may be confusing that with the Connie, although I used the same method and found a seller.

    Try that.

    The Prime Connie is in the Infinity R&D pack, to me that pretty much gauruntees that the JJ-Prise will be in the Infinity lockbox

    The next iteration of the Infinity lockbox will see the Kelvin lockbox ships included in their loot table. As a result of that prices are going to fall significantly. You just have to wait another month or so till the Sphere Builder Lockbox is being retired, Buying one right now fro 500-600 million EC would indeed be foolish.

    Even if they don't add the Kelvin Connie to the Infinity Box, they'll eventually do a re-run of the Kelvin Boxes and that will also lower prices.

    Heck, I remember at the peak of the Kelvin Box promo, the KT Connie actually cost less on the exchange then the Vengeance which is a Lobi Ship. It all depends on how patient you're willing to be, if you want it to day.. it's not going to be cheap. One thing about STO.. there is always another promo right around every corner.
