I say make the class of ship the Kelvin it self was in the C store as a compromise, yo.

No...it should be a promo or lockbox ship. It is outside the time range of what is in the c-store currently.

Time range, smine mange, says I.

The Prime Connie is in the Infinity R&D pack, to me that pretty much guarantees that the JJ-Prise will be in the Infinity lockbox

To me that chain of logic reads like "Goldfish are actually orange, so the icecaps are melting." :) Both things may be true, but they're not connected. Unless its actually the goldfish behind global warming in a plot to expand their habitat. In which case I welcome our new finny overlords. Glub-glub.

The disposition of a CBS-owned ship now in circulation doesn't seem like it has much impact on whether or not the KT assets have some sort of special profit sharing arrangement with Paramount that makes them incompatible with the Infinite lockbox format.

Its probably nothing and KT stuff will hit on schedule. But there's a very plausible alternative outcome. We'll know for certain soon enough :).

Heck, I remember at the peak of the Kelvin Box promo, the KT Connie actually cost less on the exchange then the Vengeance which is a Lobi Ship.

At the peak of the Kelvin Box promo there was one of those guys people insist can't actually exist who was using timestamp tricks to deliberately pop KT Connies five or six times an hour for DAYS. Specifically to glut the market in what he saw as a public service.

You answered your own question as to why they won't in your OP.....you spent money on something...so why would they change it when people throw money at things?

Yeah, I know.. I thought it was funny. I wish he would do it again and I don't even want that fugly ship. :)

I'm in the market for a Kelvin Connie too (of course in a perfect world I'd want the Prime Connie, but my virtual pockets do have limits to their depth), so thank you to all on this thread who have advocated patience as the best way to get one for a good price.

I had a brief moment this morning of "TRIBBLE it, I'm just going to open a ton of boxes and pray to the gods" but luckily I decided to browse the forums first, and so have settled for getting myself a Key Ring box (partly funded through my Lifetime Sub stipend anyway), selling all the keys and starting to build my nestegg for when the time is right.

I have wanted the Fleet Version of the Ar'Kif since it first came out. I dunno why I like it, I just do. Yesterday, finally got the timer turned off on my Fleet's KDF T3 Spire. Now to save enough Dil to purchase a Fleet Ship Module and buy the thing. Been working on this since about June in a KDF Fleet largely composed of characters which have not been used in over two years. Probably won't have the Zen I need for a quite a bit longer. But I am going to put my head down and keep digging. And on that day, I will probably cherish the ship I've wanted for so long much more than if it was just handed to me outright.

Speaking of that, has the price for that dropped significantly? Last I checked it was still beyond exchange rates, which was unexpected as I would have thought the Infinity box would have increased the supply and thus dropped the price. Is demand so strong that that won't happen anytime soon?

    I really want my T6 Con-R/Exeter...

That's what I was expecting too, but it seems to have had the opposite effect because now I can't find any r&d ships on the exchange, at least not the ones I tried searching for. I already have a T6 Excalibur for my main (got it on my second r&d box last time), but was thinking of getting one for my TOS toon as well. Oh well, guess that alt will be staying in the JJ-Prise (I really wish I could change the neck out for the Connie refit one ...).

Off topic, why do I feel compelled to keep buying things for my STO characters when I haven't actually played since I finished the AoY arc?? Literally the only MMO that I do that with ...

I open 10-20 lockboxes each time a new one comes out. That's it. Last time I got a 'grand prize' ship was the JHAS back before lockboxes from the "winter present" Crypic sold way back when. All the lockbox ships I have I bought on the Exchange from people who RNGesus loves more than me. :'(

    A T6 Connie is worth 539,000,000 ec.

    The Connie or the Konnie?

$100 dollars spent on lockbox keys for a chance to acquire a specific ship after opening that many boxes remains nothing but a gamble. Understand that and make your peace with such slim chances or grind out EC and just buy the desired ship. Those are your two choices!

That argument is usually valid, but you're tripping if you think he was going to get his Kelvin Constitution for ~500 million.

    It's actually possible.

There were at least 3 Kelvin Constitutions selling for between 480m EC and 500m EC last night. They are gone now. The lowest price is currently 600m EC.

Wow, that's actually quite reasonable. :) I heard they went for like 1.5 billion. Is Konnie a different ship, though? I was talking about the ship smokebailey has in her sig. That's the T6 Connie, right?

"Konnie" is the cute term used for the JJ-prise ship from the JJ-movies. "Konnie" = "Kelvin" or something. It usually goes for around 600 M, but if you are patient, you can find it cheaper.

The Temporal Light Cruiser [T6] is the TOS old and busted Constitution (or "Connie") that comes from the R&D pack and goes for 1.3 to 1.7 billion in trade.

Ah; thx for the explanation. Yeah, it's the Temporal Light Cruiser [T6] I would want.

It's my own interpretation of the Temporal Light Cruiser for my stories. Took several constitution like ships and put them together.

The Konnie is the KELVIN Constitution. These, you can find for about 400-500 millions.
Those costing at least 1.5 billions, that never appear on the exchange, are the T6 Temporal Light Cruiser AKA the T6 PRIME Connie.

Unless I missed it, no one stated the obvious.......

If they ever put a lock box ship in the C-store, it will be the end of the game. Lock boxes (ie key sales) is one of, if not the, biggest revenue sources STO has. The day they put a lock box ship in the C-store is the day that key sales practically disappear. Other than the extremely wealthy ........ and the not so smart ....... no one is going to spend boatloads of cash on keys to open boxes hoping for a ship knowing all they have to do is wait for it to appear in the C-store.

Cause and effect, lock box ship goes to c-store= key sales bottoming out. Key sales bottoming = extreme loss of revenue. Extreme loss of revenue = turn out the lights, lay off all employees, and sell all the server equipment= game over.
    LTS and loving it.

I see some D4x for sale on the exchange. Do D7's ever appear on the exchange? I don't see any but perhaps I am not using the right keyword. I used kelvin. What do you use for the D7?

    Prayers... and trade channels.

Because when the much more popular Federation counterpart costs about 1.5 billion, which is more than the exchange can accept, I can't even imagine the price of the D7 and the T'Liss.

I want cookies in the C-store.

And Voth. And maybe Voth-shaped cookies.

I hate to wade in with all the brown-eyed mullets floating around in here but be clear, come February the next Infinity Lockbox will contain everything from the Kelvin Lockbox, including the Heavy Command Crusier a/k/a the Kelvin Constitution.

Any statement to the contrary is just a load of Cods whallop. It is meant to get people to panic buy now and keep the price up at its artificially high level. Wait two months and you will be able to pick it up in the 150 million EC or so range. So unless you are a Fruit Loop, wait.

I'm pretty sure Threads like this help to clear the Exchange of any postings of items that are the topic at hand and force the price upwards as advantage is taken of the situation.

Yeah, the stupid way they award Faction ships out of these Lockboxes or R&D Pack Promotions guarantees that the Klingon and Romulan ships will be much higher in cost.

They just should let you pick the ship you want for the award, instead of having you have to split opening boxes amongst your alts. If they are concerned that people will complain about getting a ship that the particular Character can't use, have a disclaimer on the description based on the Character's Faction when you open the selection box.

That's not really a new thing though. It's been like that for a while with the Blue box ships (Mirror ones for example) and the cross-faction consoles.

But yeah, it should change. It's already difficult and expensive enough to get these very rare prices.

I have a feeling the Konnies are not going to be in the infinity lock box, just a feeling.
