Thanks For "Echoes Of Light"

I just wanted to say thanks for the "Echoes Of Light" episode.

I like action in my adventures as much as the next player, I suppose, but it's really nice to get some in-game exploration going on as well. The other part of Star Trek, if you will.

Thanks to everyone who put in the work to make "Echoes Of Light" happen; it's appreciated here, for whatever that might be worth.

Be well,

KFS

I think it's one of the better ones. Too many episodes after the Klingon Arc are focused on one conflict after another. Though the first Lukari episode wasn't bad.

    Overall solid 8.5/10.

I agree, finally a mission about exploration like Star Trek is all about. If only the exploration clusters were back. Either the old ones or new.

I fully agree.. it's already one of my favorite episodes and I hope so much, that there'll be more missions like that in the future!!! Thumbs up & many thanks to the mission's creator(s)!!!

I enjoyed the new mission as well. Was nice to do some "exploration" rather then just pew pew everything.

And the Pew Pew in the episode was entirely logical for once, not just "we must blow everything up cause WAR!"

good episode. great twist. would like to see more of that bronze age civilization. maybe we will even go to the time when k-13 was lost... play as one of them and not even our own toon. that would be interesting.

It is a nice mission. Only drawback is that i cannot replay it yet on my AoY character, but as i understand the patch is currently on tribble so that should fixed things next Thursday.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I love this episode too! It has all the feel and history of the ENTIRE SERIES wrapped into this one episode, and I LOVE IT!

I also enjoyed this episode a great deal. Definitely had a more classic TNG episode feel. Loved it.

I really enjoyed this FE. Looking forward to playing it again. Two minor nitpicks. Very minor.

-Could we please get Kuumarke to scale back a bit on hand-carrying me through the exploration stuff? For someone who has never been 'out there', she sometimes comes across as a seasoned explorer. Granted, she's highly intelligent. Enough to put two and two together very quickly. And she comes from a warp level culture. But having her explain everything every time just doesn't quite ring true with her as a rookie on her very first Away Team mission. Unless you guys were going for the enthusiasm and impetuousity of someone trying to 'keep up with the Big Kids'. In which case it makes sense. But even if this is the case, I think you missed it by about a hair.

    - Next, when my char is explaining things to Kuumarke, could we make the dialogue choices not sound as...condescending? I got a strong visual in my head of myself and my bridge crew rolling our eyes and smirking a bit whenever we replied to her. Yup, she's never been out here and there are a gazillion and one things to show her. But we are the representatives of our own culture on a first run mission with a new race in a new ship under a new Captain after First Contact. Even Klingons understand the concept of Company Manners. Well, some of us anyways. lol

Admittedly these are tiny nitpicks and really fall under the heading of fluff. They did not ruin the mission for me and I really think the Devs did a top shelf job here. But when you present us with something this good, all of it should be good.

EDIT: Almost forgot. I want Kuumarke's boots for my chars. They're damned sexy, they are.

How can you have an Echo of light, if light is not something you can hear?

An echo isn't necessarily always sound. In the case of light, you can bounce a laser off a mirror on the moon and turn the laser off, but you'll still be receiving light from the laser very briefly. This can be considered an "echo of light". :p

I add my voice of praise to this return to exploration. There are limitless possibilities in this area.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

I simply love the Agents of Yesterday and wouldn't mind staying in that era, and was actually quite disapointed when I "died" and was sent to the 25th century, but this episode made up for it! Well done! More like this (and more TOS episodes too!)

I liked it too, my only thing would be that the noob explorer captain you are escorting sure seem to know alot about the dead aliens on that planet for a race that's not gone exploring yet... or she's real good at guessing things! She's schooling your captain on things all over the place! :D

Well, Kuumarke isn't trained as a ship captain she's apparently trained as a scientific investigator.

Could use some more planet exploring. Hopefully the next one has some major planet exploring

Doubt it, it's Star Trek, they don't explore, they either attempt to explore, then Trouble creeps up, and they are fighting for their lives....Remember that episode where they explored, and nothing tried to kill the Crew of the Enterprise, Voyager, Defiant, other Enterprise, and the other other Enterprise.

Not bad at all....much less PEW PEW PEW and much more a little "brain activity" and story content. We need some more of those in the future.

Yeah OP...getting tired of the DPS creep and these I win buttons. It was a nice change of pace for one. Great story and less DPS hungry....anytime welcome.

Yeah, planet exploring would be nice. Also, a relatively short mission without any combat at all would be a nice change of pace as well. An example is Cold Comfort in the Breen Invasion story arc.
