Space-wedge vs ufo vs space-bat'leth  All three look awesome. Whichever wins, we'll get an awesome looking ship. And those engine trails... Can't wait to see how they work in-game!

My personal pick is Alpha -- true, they get some help from the Alliance, but Alpha looks to be the easiest to build for a "space-newbie" civilization (yes, I know, it was mentioned that they migrated to Lukari Prime from their original homeworld; but still, large scale expansion never really kicked off).

Can we see a blog at some point diving into the details of building these? What was the train of thought, where the inspiration was taken from? Though the inspiration for Alpha and Charlie is pretty much obvious *queue X-Files intro music*

I went with Team Echo myself, although I'd be happy with Team Charlie. The boomerang style of Echo is sleek and functional, and perfect for cutting through the galaxy.

This time, there was also the L.S.S. Concordium to think of (oh former generic starship, given new life by a new civilization, how thee art lifted from the abyss...), and I felt that Alpha was the closest to continuing that same design asthethic of mixing straight lines and curved sections.

I love this idea that a race about to embark on warp travel would have technological issues with making the ship any of those shapes.

Alpha for sure- Echo looks too much like the Son'a ships from Insurrection. And if I want a ship shaped like a disc I'll use saucer separation on my Galaxy.

But you don't get to control the saucer from saucer sep, and it dies kinda annoyingly fast!

Asteroid attack ship, flying saucer, or Trade Federation?

I say go with the classics. :)

Charlie to me seems un-star trek sure we use saucer but we use them in combination with other components.
I like Echo but Alpha seems like it would be what a developing species would use.

We don't have a ship that looks like Team Charlie. We need a proper flying saucer. Keep voting for it!

Here's a plan... how about you use all three for alternative costumes so there is more of a variety flying around the sectors :|

Or better yet, make the final three a vector class ship :D

Alpha is the way to go. Echo just looks ridiculous as a first build exploration ship, too heavily designed with looks rather than practicality.
Alpha and Charlie look like real first designs for a newly expanding species.
I just think Alpha looks much nicer, and it has that X-files vibe about it.
