ran it earlier today had two people run around killing everything in sight , me and the other 2 players wound up sitting at the starbase waiting for it to be over.
If people dont want people to just AFK it, give us something to do dont kill everything and expect us to want to participate.
Last night, was with a good Pug. As odd as it is to use those two words together. It was a rare pleasure to run this mission with people who do not see pew-pew as the answer to everything. We closed the rifts first, mopped up the stragglers, and then turned on the station defenses. With about two minutes to spare. It is nice to see the station defenders are as as inept this time as they were in the last MIE. No Terran ships were killed by the station defenses until phase two. Despite Obisek announcing they were doing so. Guess the Terrans are intercepting our command frequencies, lol.
Today, every time I have run this, someone seems hellbent on getting the station defenses up as fast as possible. The result? Far too many Terran ships getting shots in at the station. Someone rage quit. All of this is far too common with this edition of the MIE. The old MIE was better. Obisek is rapidly turning into the Reman version of Kurland.

Sadly, the bugs from last year's MIE Advanced were not fixed, and have now expanded to corrupt the Normal queue as well. When 3 rifts spawn adjacent to each other, it's not possible for a single player to close even one of them at times before the NPC's completely overwhelm the defenses. If 3 players happen to converge on that area at the same time, there is hope, but the RNG is busy spawning ludicrous numbers of rifts all over the map in some instances.
Once the map loads up with NPC's, the lag becomes fatal, with complete loss of ship/weapons control, resulting in multiple consecutive respawns requiring repairs to the ship. This is not only not fun, but a complete waste of time; many players do do ragequit, they are DC'd from the server due to the horrific lag...

Yeah, I was in that situation last night with a few of my captains. In one instance I think I spent several minutes doing nothing but fighting NPCs. Other ships eventually came by to close the rifts and I made sure to activate FAW to draw aggro.
At least this time around I did not fall asleep playing this mission like I did on Friday night. I wonder if anyone one reported me as AFK because I fell asleep while waiting for the timer to count down and I didn't wake up until after the mission was completed and I needed to choose my reward.
I stopped doing solo runs on the rifts as I'll just get swamped lately. Usually try to stick with 1 or 2 other heavies now. At least then my Escort doesn't then have 20 ships tagging the hell out of it before I can do anything.
When I did it, I was working with a Sci ship. So my Ambassador and the other ship was a good combo. They closed the rift, and I worked on the ships. And we just went back and forth on one side of the map. And the rest worked on their side.
It was a good test to my build. Not once did I get below 50% on health. Not bad from an Event T5 ship. Just shows it can still get the job done.

It works. If I team with a Sci, I let them hit the rifts and such and focus on the ships. They'll be focused on me as the main target with an assault ship with high threat anyway. Always aiming for the Command ships and Carriers when they pop, as those tend to multiply.
What's the best skill to prevent Passive stat? Hard to stay on the Command or higher ships when I get hit with that. I have a couple of things I use, but should do better. Just curious. Almost as bad as those Iconian Probes/Orbs shutting all my skills down.
Will the card from the previous event be able to be finished? I have run left to go on one of my characters.
They don't seem to allow you to add to any old events. Once the event is over, if you aren't finished - too bad... you can't finish it. Have one toon with 3 or 4 events that haven't been completed.
Actually in this case you can. Had 2/3 of it done on one of my alts last time around and I'm able to input the mirror thingummyjigs the event gives you.

You can if you do good damage and/or if you use an immunity skill. Note that usually you need to not attack while you close the portal.
There are also other skills that can help, like a gravity well to make them group, photonic fleet, etc, etc...
I'm really starting to detest this queue. Its grueling idle times, its scan interupting torpedoes out of nowhere, its leeching players... When this is over I'm gonna take a nice, long break from this game.
I have been a couple groups that knew how to do the Advanced Mirror and not lose the base and get the most if not all of the rifts closed. Its all a matter of teamwork and of course focusing on the rifts. What I dislike is the inability to pick up the older rewards for newer toons. If they were to make those claimable from the dilithium store once they were unlocked
it would be better
My pug runs have been perfect, at the start of the round I always put in team chat that portals are priority objectives.
Makes runs much easier

I tend not to like it when one person issues orders to the group, its bossy and impolite, i tend to ignore those people anyway. I just met you, how do i know your expertise or knowledge, you could just be a controlling person.
i've never had a problem with this event in what 3 or 4 iterations of it. This time on just 3 characters but I used to do it on 6. the one thing i notice is that the enemies have become all oneshot affairs this time around due to the creep. Usually there is a 3-5 minute wait in the middle but that's not the end of the world. i do the admiralty and doffing. bad special reward this time, but then i refuse to use the agony gun also, so i'll get more out of the card.

"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
So now I cannot press <esc> and bypass the initial cutscene. Just got done trying to do so on four chars. Is this W.A.I.?
I also noticed when I approached a Rift today, there was about a two to four second delay before the <Close Rift> button would appear. Again, this occurred on all four chars. So is this W.A.I. as well? Haven't looked yet for an explanation for these issues. They could very well be just my buggy ISP today. This could also be my buggy laptop. However, neither occurred yesterday when I ran the event multiple times on all four chars.

It's more a reminder than anything really, the more portals closed the better the reward

My only goal is to not fall asleep while playing this mission.
Unfortunately, I cannot say that I have never fallen asleep during the mission.
I'm only doing it on my main character, got 4 alts other than my main and I cannot be bothered doing the queue 5 times each day across all characters.

Seriously closing the portals will rack up more marks that even saving the base altho if you close the portals the base doesn't usually need saving
Exactly, putting it in team chat after skipping the cutscene has netted me perfect runs this year. Though I'm insane enough to take the aggro from the dread in a tiny tholian mesh weaver

Eh, I just go around and blow stuff up. It's more entertaining than spending half of the mission time waiting for the dreadnought to finally show up and restart the battle.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
quite poor reward this year,
the shipcard itself is not flexible as other (zen)shipcards for overall mission.
It is mostly effective in x/10 tours
and most of the time you will have to pair it with another card
the last grindy event shipcard was Voth, that shipcard is extremly potent you can start a lot of missions with only 1 click.
The stats for Stadi should be improved
Grind is now over for me. Got all 11 of my mirror ship admiralty cards! Phew. I just wish I could wear the actual skin pattern on all my fed ships instead of a card or the very least I.S.S prefix.
