Ah I see so you think in order to be considered to have unswerving loyalty we had to be forum warriors with the highest post counts. And here I thought customers showed their unswerving loyalty to a company other ways like

If the criteria really was based on post counts then Cryptic/PWE is doing the right thing by keeping their mouths shut. Cuz if that ever got out it would really blow up in their faces.
And now ppl are so hating on everything, they even bring up an old, completely unrelated, incident, in which Geko said people on the forum are whiners (or words to that effect). Haters are gonna hate. Give it a rest, ppl; and don't prove him right on every count.
Am I right in assuming, you got your golden shiny?
You are really loyal then and deserve it LOL
Yup, got it. It's indeed very shiny! And very golden! And the players love it!
Other ships I didn't get. Like the T6 Avenger, or the T6 Defiant, that got tossed other people's way. Was I annoyed about that? Sure, for all of 5 minutes. Then I moved on. Why can't you? The T6 D'Kora is sweet, but no uebership, by any means. In fact, I already shelved it again, LOL (and bought a Na'kuhl Daemosh Science Vessel to play with today).
The self-entitlement is simply too strong in this thread.
Please stop rubbing it off...
You only read my first sentence, right?! That was just in response to leceter, who likely figured I would go all apologetic, after him asking me whether I got my 'golden shiny.' And I wanted to make it clear I'm not. I was probably among the very first to have stated to think not having done anything special that might qualify me above others; but I am also not apologizing for having gotten one, either.
don't think I have seen you in Beta testing or prior to F2P at these forums at STO...yet I'm happy for your accomplishment. What some of us (veterans) are discussing here is the lack of communication from Cryptic "not" entitlement.
It's funny how you can state, unequivocally, that it's *not* about entitlement, and yet pull rank on me in the very same sentence, with your Beta veteran status.
N.B. I came here, just when Atari was leaving the building.
Truth is, as you know, that we have no idea what criteria Cryptic/PWE used here. Or even that it's truly related to any form of being a 'loyal' customer. They're not telling. From my personal observation, I noticed ppl who have paid a lot more than I ever have, did not get the ship. That alone puts the 'most loyal' thing in question (or at least in a monetary sense). I still say it was poor wording. From a company perspective, thanking folks for being a 'loyal customer' almost always seems like a no-brainer safe bet. They did a promo, and likely never thought it thru much, is my take on it. They didn't tell me why I got this ship; and they didn't tell me why I never got any of the other ships. That's Cryptic for you.
Bottom line is this game is based on getting people to spend a lot of money in micro transactions. Now whether you do or not is up to you. But the people who do it is common business practice give those clients incentives and rewards so that you keep them as loyal customers, that's simply business 101. They appear to have tried doing this but went about it very sloppy and little foresight. Now they risk losing big spenders to other games unless they make it right. Now they may or may not that's their risk to take.
But they really have nothing to lose by posting goals that have to be met. And rewarding those that have already met those goals. If anything it will motivate some people to spend even more. But it will definitely cost them money if they simply do nothing and lose people who most likely will have spent thousands more. I won't personally quit playing this game but I may decide to pump a lot more money into Star Citizen rather than STO.
Uh, any "free stuff" giveaway that does not go to everyone will have that "why didn't I get one" effect. And people will whine. Even If you spell our in boring detail what all the requirements are people will whine.
If the devs had told us "you needed to be subscribed for 390 days" (just a random hypothetical) there would be someone complaining that they missed it by less than a week... It's inevitable because people want stuff.
^True
Myself I was only disappointed because some idiot was running around ESD saying if you spent 1000$ or more in the last year you were getting the email.
So of course I was all "WTF" when I checked my PayPal history.
But this is what I get for putting any stock into the ESD Zone chat rumor mill.

As someone who wants stuff, I can confirm this is a likely possibility.
This really should have been done through "in-game" email so as to avoid players having their T6 Nagus Marauder get lost in a spam or junk folder they would never see it in, or to avoid them not getting it at all due to the email non-subscriber situation.
It seems to have been a spontaneous giveaway with no advertisement of any kind and very little explanation.
Unless I'm misreading things; didn't they break California law by not following these laws on giveaway?
All the rules, regulations, terms and conditions of the contest.
The maximum number of puzzles or games which may be necessary to complete the contest and determine winners.
The maximum amount of money, including postage and handling fees, which a participant may be asked to pay to win each of the prizes offered.
The date(s) upon which the contest will terminate, and upon which all prizes will be awarded.
Whether future contests or tie-breakers, if any, will be significantly more difficult than the initial contest, and the method of determining prize-winners if a tie remains after completion of the last tie-breaker.5
I will admit that the page is hard to follow *legal jargon is fun to watch, not read* so according to this blog which has the rules for giveaways/sweepstakes, but given they are the same that are under the contest laws in the above state website I've been lead to believe that the rules for contests (mainly the rules of a contest) apply to sweepstakes as well.
For the official record I'm not native of the State of California, thus I'm unfamiliar with all the laws of the state that STO in based in and I'm an not a lawyer in trade, but I'm inclined to think that something is amiss here. Please, feel free to point out my errors.
No. It wasn't a contest with a prize.

Also; i should get bonus points for buying a full price lifetime subscription while I still had a subscription running. Also, I am a Varanus owner and a Klingon Dyson Science Vessel Destroyer owner, I think that warrants special considerations for someone so loyal to buy even their lemons!

Listen guys, if you aren't one of their special snowflakes and don't have the ship. We aren't getting it, so how about we just leave it here.
Not going to get anywhere by arguing between ourselves, especially since Cryptic/PWE seemingly enjoy us doing so..
Forced to agree. The Powers That Be have given us their [non] response. I don't think for one second that they'll say anything more than that.
I still hate the revolting communication they displayed, and the fact that some of us may well have missed out on the ship through a technicality (the email unsubscribe issue) but the fact remains that The Powers That Be are not going to address this and, since there is no other way to interpret this, don't have a problem with the fact that they've upset a not-insignificant portion of the playerbase.
PWE/Cryptics response to those loyal members who didn't receive the golden email:
Check the Z-Store I got the T6 Ferengi Ship without ever getting the code per e-mail it should be under promotions
Same here..went to claim the new uniform giveaway and there it was just sitting there to be claimed..no e-mail or code to get it..so maybe everyone should check the promotions tab if they haven't yet.

Dude they were trolling you! The rewards went to those who spent "nothing" on this MMO. At the least was a random event.

I spent a lot early in the game but I've backed off in last year or so.
I got email! But it was only about Star Trek Las Vegas, Kelvin ships, and the Kelvin Admiral uniform giveaway. So I am getting emails, but sadly no ship. Not that I deserve it anyway.
