And guess what? It's pretty "cryptic"...
Update: A representative for PWE issued the following statement to Massively OP in regard to these ships: “The gold-plated T6 Ferengi ship was sent out to a select group of players as part of an e-mail specific promotion. Unfortunately we aren’t able to reveal any additional information, as it goes against our policy to protect the privacy of our community members.”

What makes that BS though is that they don't have to reveal anyone's personal or private info just to tell people what the parameters were. They don't have to name any names. It's just the normal BS PR spin response.
Oh and guess what? They DON'T care about people's privacy when the announce their
@handle whenever someone wins a lockbox ship! So they can't even keep their own logic straight.
there is one simple reason Cryptic is not telling us the "requirements" to get one of these ships: because there are none. More specifically, yes they are giving them to some big spenders, that much is clear. But they are ALSO giving them to some of their "favorite" people. The really big podcasters and defenders of the game, even though some of those people admit they haven't spent lavish amounts of money. Cryptic doesn't want to admit they are handing out ships to people on an unfair basis, so they give us a BS line about privacy

I guess telling us the criteria would be giving away personal information about the folks that got it...???

Be grateful we "less loyal" players aren't getting the agony booth.

"Hey do you think we should put out a release letting people know they've been chosen randomly out of Facebook likes?"
"Nah, let's keep em pulling out their credit cards, thinking If I just spent a little more I'll get something..."
Being critical doesn't take skill. Being constructively critical- which is providing alternative solutions or suggestions to a demonstrated problem, however, does.
Core principle of customer relations is that you do not publicly give random preferential treatment to specific customers. Certainly not without giving everyone a fair chance to get that treatment.
When I worked at a dolphinarium, literally the dumbest thing you could do was randomly allowing some people to enter the shows early, without having to enter the queue. You may make some people happy, but as soon as the public at large becomes aware of it, you're stuck with an angry or at least annoyed crowd who feel they're being discriminated. And since they're customers, they are always right in such cases and you cannot ignore such feelings.
So whoever thought that it would be a good idea to not only ignore those feelings and complaints, but to do it three times over while leaving their customers (some of their most loyal ones even, so it seems) clueless as to why they're discriminated against, must have no idea how to rightly treat the playerbase/customers/visitors that keep your company alive.
This "community" is always complaining. If you want an ugly Ferengi ship you'll get one eventually, keep yer shirts on lieutenants!
Not in the sense of names and addresses but if PWE specified what qualities/stats they used anyone seen using the T6 Marauder could be immediately pegged as "that kind of person."

careful they might take away your ship for not having unwavering support
If it was part of a Charge Reward Event, which I am surprised that STO doesn't do while other PWE games like Neverwinter do, would be a great way to introduce this ship. Buying $200 on Zen for a specific weekend and transferring it to STO makes a lot of sense for this type of ship, but the complete randomness of who gets it doesn't.
But, can confirm for people that want it, that:
- Lifetime Subcriber (not just STO but also CO, so covering multiple games from the same company).
- Played since closed beta.
- Having spend lots of money on the ingame store over the years.
- Never missed a tribble test.
- Reported countless bugs and issues.
- Been very active on the diffrent forums we had over time.
- And have a perfect record with no warnings.
Isn't any of the criteria.Anyway, good luck to people that want the gold ship. lol
Edit: I don't do 3rd party social medias like facebook or twitter and stuff like that. So can't say if they have anything to do with who gets picked.

l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
This. It's a legitimate reason for not stating anything about the criteria, and it could actually say quite a lot more than you think about a player depending on the metrics used and a breach of privacy if involves spending habits or activity habits.
Sounds like unwavering support of Star Trek Online. I wonder if it might have something to do with those Arc Quests.
I've barely started doing Arc Quests myself a few weeks ago. Not gotten enough Arc points to turn into Zen yet. But I don't think it could be related to that.
ehh.. Who knows.
Spock to Kirk, as Kirk is about to hug him.
Star Trek V: "The Final Frontier"
Nah. I didn't do any of those.
It's not that I'd feel personally insulted, per se, so much as just..... I dunno, let down? I was in Beta since, like, Day 1, too, invested quite heavily in this game, both in time and monies and enthusiasm, and it's just....
I dunno, it'd be I guess nice to have that acknowledged in some way?
But it seems the distribution method is more random than anything, or at the very least, part of some mystifying promotional program, as stated.
