Buahahaha! Well now... T6 TOS Connie on the way! Now we can have the best of both worlds (timelines)!
The first Belfast was commanded by Captain Ve'Kal Shon until its destruction in 2409. A new ship was commissioned bearing the same name and registry as special dispensation to then newly promoted Captain Edward XIII for his pivotal role during the renewed Dominion War.
So many emotions this is crazy, mind blowing, exciting, curious and scary. This makes me wonder is this the apocalypse? Is this a sign that CBS is finally realizing they need to change they way they handle trek unlike their past incompetence with the franchise? Does this mean its a sign that STO is reaching its golden years and doesnt have much time left? Or has hell been frozen over and this is just a gift from the trek gods? Either way we finally get to pilot a top tier OG Enterprise before its to late.
Stop with the Internet lingo already and show these ships some respect. They are Constitution Class Starships. Connie Francis has absolutely nothing to do with this game.

I only care if it has the TOS movie look as a customization.
It does. From the blog post...
"The Temporal Light Cruiser has access to the Constitution Refit, Excalibur and Vesper costumes for free and it can use the Exeter’s costume if that starship is owned."
This has NOTHING to do with CBS. It's NEVER had anything to do with CBS other than they are the mouthpiece through which Cryptic receives instruction. Nothing has changed at CBS - they like money, they know a TOS endgame connie has always been a license to make money, and they like money. Did I mention they like money? They have never had a reason to selectively block the Connie and ONLY the connie from appearing in this game. The reason came from elsewhere and that elsewhere is their co-owner of the IP in the midst of a major re-launch featuring... omegerd! A re-envisioned connie!!
So what has changed? Oh, dur, exactly as I've been saying all along: Paramount no longer feels the need to enforce non-compete behavior to protect their investment in the KT Enterprise. In fact they're actively selling their IP through STO now. Hallelujah! And now STO can be one big happy shopping mall for both companies' creations.
In the next Month, I don't consider this necromancy.

I've never understood the knee-jerk necromancy complaint. The content of this thread is directly relevant to current events. Its kind of pathetic people dread being faced with pertinent history...

Is that the pivot? The paradigm shift? Paramount said no?

Its less knee-jerk and more forum rules. The mods tend to frown on any necroing, even if it pertains to something going on.
Look on the bright side... I'm not the type to demand immediate cease and desist. And on top of that I had a little fun with it. Hence the funny Magic card post.
I guess if they wanted to increase the Forum Thread Count Metric.

Given the stories that the Constitution wasn't supposed to appear in STO at all, and that again CBS has absolutely no motive for such a thing... Yup. You need only look at Paramount's flag to see which way the wind is actually blowing.
Cryptic and Paramount are finally able to get cozy because Paramount finally quits trying to sell exclusive licenses to other videogame studios and shacks up with the Star Trek game still going strong six years later. The KY Connie becomes a thing, and a thing allowed a respectable window to gobble up sales. And now Paramount says 'yes'. Lo and behold: endgame TOS connie. Activate the money-printing machines!!
Why do people say this is immersion breaking. It is obviously not the same 200 year old ship. Haven't we seen many things that are old in life that has been gutted and changed. There is a HGTV Series on Vintage House Hunting. Some hundreds of years old house, people love the shell and the craftsmanship and then give the inside a makeover and a refresh to the exterior.
B-52s are how old now? Produced between 1952 and 1962 and is expected to serve until the 2040s.
In this case the ship may be of a totally new design in a classic visual motif. If it offends look the other way or pretend you just wax nostalgic and see something that is not really there. This entire game is out of wack when it comes to a consistent universe.

WE just got a T6 connie. The JJ connie is 10x better looking and will most likely tower over the light cruiser is DPS potential. No thanks.
That is opinion. There are quite a few people who would disagree with you on looks.
Some of us grew up loving the TOS Connie (I like the TMP Refit version more myself)
As for stats, it's an R&D Box prize ship.... chances are, its going to be as good as or better than the JJ Connie
Considering its also such an iconic ship, I doubt it will be sub-par
I have to agree with the OP regarding people's gloating over the Kelvin Connie being the "end all, be all" of T6 Constitutions.
Moral of the Story - Beware of gloating. Humility is a much wiser stance.
It's not you- it's me. I just need my space.
Being critical doesn't take skill. Being constructively critical- which is providing alternative solutions or suggestions to a demonstrated problem, however, does.
That's just it, it's all stories. None of it was ever fact. And now you're trying to change the story to Paramount said no?
Nobody said no. It was never final. There was only one place in allllllll of STO that ever tried to shut down the topic and claim the answer was final. And that was the FCT thread. Which itself turned out to be just a story, and just as wrong. The poster of that thread will eventually come back along and edit that part for the second time this year.

Agree here. I have yet to see any cited (credible) resource saying it wasn't going to happen- just a lot of hot air from people saying it wouldn't happen.

But CBS said no! There's hundreds and hundreds of posters, that kept assuring us that CBS said no. It's still even part of the FCT!

While I agree that this is pretty sweet... NECROMANCY! Just barely, but still... NECROMANCY!
