I wasn't interested in peoples opinion about "how it would be made available" when I made this poll.
I just wondered how many folks would like to get one, their added commentary is just that, added... as in, not asked for.
If you want to know peoples opinion about HOW it will be sold, make yer own poll.

Nah. I'd get a Kelvin type, or an Armstrong type, or even a Mayflower type if the added the option of a rollbar; but neither the Connie nor the Vengence interest me in the slightest.
Newton Type = Best Type.
Where's the official release info on the 4 KT ships?
Unfortunately none of the Pre-KT ships (Kelvin, Newton, Armstrong, or Mayflower) appear to be coming. Only the two TAR ships, the AR Constitution and the Dreadnought.
I've seen ... "rumors" ... of a klink and Romulan ship as well, though I saw a possible pic of the romulan ship and it looks nothing like the ship most would expect ...
Yes I am getting one but the problem is going to be that it is most likely a lockbox ship which will make it very hard for myself to get one. My personal opinion is and I really do not care if you disagree while this is the AR Kelvin Timeline Constitution it is still a Constitution Class ship which has been cried and begged for by the players from the beginning of the game. From a monetary point of view I can sadly understand the lockbox. But from a massive fan of Star Trek who has watched the show since I was a little boy dreaming of being on the Star Ship Enterprise I feel putting it in a lockbox is a huge slap in the face to Star Trek fans who really love to play this game. Like I said just my opinion I will not bad mouth anyone else's opinion please do not bad mouth mine.
Now I also want the Vengeance. This ship I can understand a little more being put in a lockbox but I still would like it in the C-Store with the Connie if I had my way. And even though they are AR Kelvin timeline they are Federation Starships.
I can not even imagine how much EC these two will cost if they are released in the lockbox. Makes me sad thinking about it
I assume you're taking the launch trailer as a playable-KT-ships announcement?
Your assumption would be correct.
And if this thread is still here 24 hours from now..., My assumption will be correct also.
It's been over twenty-four hours...
Guess we're both right.

I'll only get it if it's in the c-store, otherwise I won't bother
I have no compunction spending my monthly allotment on keys, so I will open a few lockboxes now and then, but I am not gonna dump more into keys. If it's in the C-Store, I'll be right there with you though.
If its going in the C-Store I will stay home from work and buy it the MINUTE its available! My credit card will be SMOKEN I will be buying that ship so fast!
On the other hand,, if its in a Lockbox * slams wallet closed* Not a chance in HE!! will I be spending any money to TRY to get arguable the most wanted ship in STO history on ONE of my 15 characters!!! I have 6000 Zen right now, I will spend that, once that is gone, not another DIME of my money will I be spending.
Here's hoping its in the C-store!!!!!!!!!
I agree with the above. If it is in the C-Store I will buy all of Kelvin Timeline ships as soon as they come out, but I will not waist my time if they are in lockboxes.
I do have a feeling they will be in the C-Store. I do not know why people think they will be in lock boxes. I do think there will be Sphere Builder Lockboxes.

It's the Klothos which is identified as a D5 by Kor in "Once more unto the Breach". Conclusion: Differences between a D5 and D7 are either mostly internal or possibly ship size.

Kor? The Klingon with dementia? I assume he just thought it'd sound more badass to claim he fought a 23ed century Constitution with a 22nd century D5 and then forgot he was lieing.

Come on, that's just as bad of an explanation as saying Picard is delusional or lying about Starfleet's nature.
I know people love the TRIBBLE out of retcons, but you can't just create a new ship and then claim it's an already canonical design now. The fault is on ENT's side here, the show that also brought us "Klingon Warbirds" (which was declared, of course, a "honest mistake" and has to be discarded from canon - until the AR movies came along and simply adapted the mistake. I hate all of them. The whole bunch. Argh.

There's a key difference. Klingons lie and Kor is losing his memory. Picard is neither of those things.
The Klingon Warbird never bothered me in the slightest. Both Klingons and Romulans have a Bird of Prey Class, turns out they also both have a Warbird Class.
Anyway, we'll soon see. When the Blue-Ray of TAS comes out and full CGI replacements for cell drawn ships are used. We'll see the proper D5s in their rightful place. Still with hand drawn purple uniformed Klingons though, he original tone has to be maintained.

Just wishful thinking. TOS had a wonderful remastering that really streamlined the experience. TNG was stuck with a half-arsed one where the studio changed every series meaning nothing was consistent between them, Borg weapon and shield effects on Q Who and BoBW were different, the Ent D phasers were different shades between series, even planets like Vulcan had different looks (incidentally different from their TOS:R looks as well) and it was all a bit of a botched job.
TAS on the other hand is simple drawn animation, remastering it would be as simple as redrawing or recolouring parts of it. Obviously not with CGI models as with my joke above, but freshly drawn ones.
Hope springs eternal though.

There haven't been any announcements, but I can't imagine they will actually change the source material. I can see them correcting long standing colouring issues (for instance, grey Andorians, purple Klingon and Kzinti uniforms and wrong starfleet uniforms) but I don't see them changing actual ships and scenery, after all it's animation from the seventies. Interfering would really disturb the overall style I'm afraid whereas the TOS and TNG remasterings worked surprisingly well, aside from the issues @artan42 mentioned. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the D5/D7 issue isn't even of knowledge to the people in charge of remastering TAS - honestly, at this point I think CBS rather ignores such mistakes and leaves it to the fanbase to fight about it instead of taking a stance either way.
Overall, you can watch TAS online. There's really no need to wait for the blu-ray to do so as there's not much they can do besides changing the image format. And not watching TAS now because it's not optimized for 16:10 and 1080p is really not a good reason

In TOS:R they changed the use of the Botany Bay as a Starfleet cargo ship to the Robot Drone thing from TAS. They changed a Romulan D7 to a T'liss. Changing the Bonaventure to a new ship (and not a malformed Constitution) or a D7 to a D5 wouldn't be all that different.

I know, I meant changing them in TAS. In TOS:R the CGI works because there were originally virtually no exterior shots (aside from the orbiting scenes and the stock "fire" clip), they recreated all of them from scratch and thus could find a uniform style. In TAS that's different and while it's just drawn it has a very distinctive style. The ne ships would have to be perfectly in line and that INCLUDES questionable geometry and low details, otherwise I would find it very disrupting.

It's probably harder to draw badly than well for an artist, but I'm sure it could be managed. There's somebody on the internet who made a series 3 of TAS, their first few episodes were recuts of existing ones but later ones included newly drawn elements and it looks genuine. I've been trying to find it since I brought up TAS.

I wasn't interested in peoples opinion about "how it would be made available" when I made this poll.
I just wondered how many folks would like to get one, their added commentary is just that, added... as in, not asked for.
If you want to know peoples opinion about HOW it will be sold, make yer own poll.
The problem is, the method of availability will impact on whether people will spend money on it or not. You don't really get one without the other.
I think the point is more that if one wants to debate the delivery method of this content, then this isn't the poll or thread for that debate. Of course that method will affect someone's choice, and thus poll result. And obviously people can share that. It's when the discussion goes beyond that into a debate of that method, that it starts to elevate beyond the boundaries of the simple poll here.

Once again, TRIBBLE ENT and their nonsense.

Citation needed. Because that's a D7 with a extended torpedo tube caused by crappy animation.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

It's the Klothos which is identified as a D5 by Kor in "Once more unto the Breach". Conclusion: Differences between a D5 and D7 are either mostly internal or possibly ship size.

I've never watched TAS. That might be an opportunity.

Edit: found it.

At least that was how I read the commentary.
