I imagine it shouldn't be too terribly difficult to build in another inventory window, much like R&D materials have their own inventory section solely for their use. Something like this for pets would be great. I am also a fan of SWTOR's pet summoning system, though that might take more work than it would be worth to implement.

If we go with a pet summoning thing... probably make a seperate tab in the "spell book" so as not to clutter it with all the pets we have.
to be honest, I would actually collect pets, but I keep thinking:
'Ugh, this would just be inventory -1' so I just save my Lobi/EC and trade in all my birds/monkeys each year
whether it be a Inventory Tab or a Summon Menu, It would be a nice QoL addition.
SWTOR has the perfect solution to this. Instead of requiring the pet in our inventory, have it as an item that vanishes and grants us the ability to summon the pet from the power window..
This is where it needs to be. Lessen the character database strain.
Neverwinter had this, iirc. I tried it out a really long time ago, though, so I could be misremembering.
Champions is one step better, with non-combat pets (Action Figures) being an account unlock and a tab on your character sheet showing the ones you have available (along with a list of potential acquisitions, mostly C-Store). It's actually pretty neat.
In any case, I fully support the idea of a Pet tab.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.

That's actually a really great way to operate the system.

funny thing is, champions has this EXACT same thing as well, so you'd think it wouldn't be too big a deal to copy it over to STO since they use the same base engine
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.

We've been begging for this since the first Tribble was bred back in 2010!
They certainly should have been considering it long before now.
I've had the feeling for some time now that the only way this will happen, is if one of the Dev's takes pity upon us, and creates something along these lines on Their own time.

Good point. Tribbles still need to be able to escape any tab into a tab with food in it.

That thing with the tribbles sounds interesting. Especially if you keep a cannibal tribble in with them to keep their numbers down.
This would be good for KDF players.

I'd buy more pets tbh. If we had this.
Devs? Please?
We come in peace, SHOOT TO KILL!
Could sell extra slots like the dry dock!

Pity that my support doesn't mean anything.
