I had a passing urge to make a Tellarite crew for the TOS faction and name them after the characters on that but I'll leave it to you.. I am still half hoping they get their heads out of their asses regarding Caitian before July
because feds get a whole lot of faction restricted stuff in AoY and your telling me one thing not for feds is too much to ask for? for last we heard nearly a 3rd of the fanbase one thing is too much?
It's been mentioned in a bunch of threads about Agents of Yesterday already and I'm pretty sure back in the early stages of this thread ... AoY is an exception to the rule. That expansion is being designed for two players and two players only. Myself and daveyny. This expansion includes items that both of us have specifically asked for, for going on 6 years now. I'll let dave tout his glorious victory if he deigns to. But mine is quite satisfying and I revel in how clever it was and how it pulled off.
A T6 Daedalus!
A quick recap:
There are a bunch of people on here who like old canon ships. But are very very strict in which old canon ships they like. And everyone else's tastes and preferences were disregarded at best, and viciously attacked at worst. It's how we ended up with years of Excelsior this, Galaxy that discussion. Realizing this was the direction things were going, I set to work. You see one of my all time favorite ship models is the Daedalus. I like round things. I like retro sci fi. I like the 60s aesthetic. I like all of what AoY is showing us right now on Tribble.
And so I needed to pull the long con here.
Ala Ocean's 11 and the tv series Leverage, I assembled a team.
This team was comprised of some of the leading minds in internet forum warfare as well as some of the biggest and most voracious STO posters the forums have ever seen. Sadly most of them have had action taken against their forum presence. But that was a price each of us were willing to pay to achieve the goals that are now culminating in Agents of Yesterday.
We used to meet in secret. Using old spycraft tactics like microdots and prodigy bulletin boards to share our strategies and secrets. Finally we found our path: The Original Starship Enterprise and the bashfulness that Dan Stahl and Al Rivera have over how Emmert was able to get that ship into the game.
That was our in. Our exploit.
And we set a long con in motion.
YEARS of T6 Connie threads took place. It was the biggest reddest red herring of all time. A Macguffin the likes of which most couldn't even fathom.
And it worked beautifully. Look at the carnage my team of subservise forum commandos have wrought. It's an FCT. It's the primary reason the FCT exists! It's a discussion that has cropped up in almost every JJ-Abrams-Related topic in forum history. It's a discussion that exists in a wide variety of forms be it talking about the Exeter, the Excalibur, the Vesper or other ships like the Defiant vs. The Excelsior, and how the USS Stargazer is a Constellation class ship not a Stargazer class ship. It shows up in discussions about Wolf 359. It's everywhere.
And the whole time the mission: Agents of Yesterday was in motion. Now every member of the cabal had their own agenda and their own things they wanted. Me? I just wanted a T6 Daedalus.
Agents of Yesterday, alas, was never intended to give Romulan or Klingon specific content. It wasn't on the cabal's agenda. I am sorry for that (or is this a case of sorrynotsorry?) ... but I promise you that this expansion is being made to serve the very specific needs of some very specific customers.
And I bet if you got your own cabal together and worked out a much more efficient plan you could get the same done for Klingon content in far less than the almost 6 years it's taken the "Agents of Yesterday" consortium.
We're good, but we're slow.
Good luck. And let us know if you need any advice. Probably should ask before the expansion launches though because once it does, we're all going to be too drunk on power and synthale to remember the details.

I don't intend to vote, but as a klingon ONLY player I would have to vote NO.
Cryptic has made it clear on numerous occasions they want this to be a FED ONLY game. I see little reason for them to include KDF/RSE content at all with an attitude like that. I wouldn't want them to waste their time or mine with a half-assed effort to include any non-FED content in their MMO tribute to the mighty Federation.

And if this game was for feddie bears only, i would not be playing this game. While i do have one fed alt, without LoR, i would have stay quit from this game. You feddie bears think it's all about you...well it's not.
Very true - but given the number of accounts with KDF is 17% or the total STO playerbase and Romulan characters make up 13%; it makes sense they concentrate more on the 70% of Fed players primarily since that's a larger base to sell items to.

That makes me 80% of 30%, or representative of 22.5% of the playerbase. A waste of their time, right ?
Here's why Cryptic's current stance makes no sense to me. They pull support for MAC and then they announce they are releasing STO for xbox one and PS4.
This begs the question: if you have enough devs for pc, ps4, and xbox one, how is it that you don't have enough devs to support MAC?
Simple there are more PS4, Xbox One, and PC users then Mac's end of discussion. Besides your post is nothing but "Whaa Mac's don't have support anymore Whaaa" . Well cupcake Mac users swore up and down that they would spend as much if not more then PC users. Mac users promised that there would be massive number of new players using Macs come in. Well they failed to deliver on thier promise so bye bye.
Yes but let me explain, what i mean. Do i think there should have been TOS Romulan and Klingon arcs yes maybe, but I understand that there isn't. What i don't understand is the lack of for pay ships. Considering there are already ships in the expansion they added that could be pay for. As well as why is there no temporal Warbird or temporal BOP. Those cross faction ships could have easily been 2 of those.
To any one who suggests the cross faction ones are romulan and klingon ship buying. Tell me one thing do they look romulan or klingon to you, because they are not to me. I would have bought the pack if they did but nop not enough to get me to. I have almost every pack since LOR.

That would make sense if the xbox and PS4 players were joing the PC server which is already up and running...but they ain't. In fact they are EACH getting their own server...so that really makes no sense from the stance of we have no dev resources to spend for mac players...but we can make it so we need double the dev resources that we have NOW?!? That's stupid.
No it is not, sorry you can't take off the apple goggles and see the real world there but investing in PS4 and Xbox makes a whole lot more sense from a business stance than wasting money on a non-profitable mac client that the third party you hired to develop won't even do basic work on.
Besides they don't have to join the PC servers to get cryptic more money in the long run, besides Clients need updating that takes developer resource time the more money to maintain that the more it will be maintained.

Of course, their ongoing neglect of those factions could also be contributing to that.

Should the Klingon and Romulan empires been made playable in the new expansion. I am still excited for this being a huge TOS fan but I am disheartened that the two other factions were left out. It would have been super fun to play a TOS Klingon or Romulan in that time period. I personally think that after the time and effort put into this they should have gone the extra mile.
