Finally no more murder on ESD.

"He shall be my finest warrior, this generic man who was forced upon me.
Like a badass I shall make him look, and in the furnace of war I shall forge him.
he shall be of iron will and steely sinew.
In great armour I shall clad him and with the mightiest weapons he shall be armed.
He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."

Why is a 3300 MB "patch" happening at 2300 (EST)? Can't this wait till your downtime on the 7 April at 5 A.M.? I mean really, 3300 MB? Reloading the entire game?

It's pre-patching S11.5 to make it less painful next Tuesday.

Note: the pre-patch is entirely optional, but in the long run, it's better to let the patcher do it. More snappy patch on your end (the files just have to be extracted/moved/renamed, w/e), less server load on Cryptic's end.

When I saw 7.5 hour maintenance, I was thinking it was 11.5 being dropped today. Surprised by the length of the maintenance and what is being actually done.

Think of it as being the time they might need if something is not working, instead of saying the maintenance will last 2.5 hours but they will add time after time.

But, again, we might still get it past the 7.5 hours too.

There's system maintenance for arc going on which lasts 5 hours and then STO's maintenance starts for 2 and a half hours

What? Maintenance of more than seven hours? Europe can play again Star Trek Online for the whole day! Apparently the time of any maintenance only directed at America. Why not also once thought of the players from other continents such as Europe, which surely come from a lot of players come and put in their time and money? It is time that there is sometimes thought seriously about to set up a server that is focused on Europe?

    Translated with Google.

It may well be that they're preparing things for season 11.5. Who knows? Maybe that's why maintenance takes longer even though we don't see the result of that yet. I'm sure they have their reasons.

Glad to see the Falconer issue being fixed btw :) Hadn't expected a fix for it so soon, so I'm pleasantly surprised.

    3300 with on-demand patching, 6231 without.

Only just noticed it is 7.5 hours today. Good thing i refined the dilithium already today.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

*Slow claps for the 7.5 hour maintenance*
Arc must be doing great that slowly put all PWE related titles onto steam.

Hello Startrekers! I have a problem with logging on Arc. I'm not able to do it. Here's what it says: ''The Arc server encountered an internal error. Please wait a moment and try logging in again.'' Let me know please, whether the problem is related to maintenance right?

This really makes little sense at all, but I will say that no matter where the game is stored, maintenance will still happen, and it would still be 7.5 hours as the Steam 'version' is exactly the same as the Arc version.

And lastly, the game plays better from it's original launcher, Steam and Arc aren't needed to run this game.

They created this buggy, unneeded platform which is totally redundant and shoved it down their customerbase throats. Then they give us maintenances that last a whole workday.

Also you should read again what i wrote in my previous post.

Not only that but why in the world is the Star Trek Online launcher physically tied into Arc? I've noticed that if Arc crashes, the Star Trek Online launcher is also taken down with it. I'm about to go back to using the stand-alone Star Trek Online Launcher.

Okay, so when I try to Log in to the launcher, I get the message "Unable to authenticate: Connection to the account server timed out". How am I supposed to even GET an update, if the blasted launcher won't let me in?

S'what I do. I HAVE arc, but I really don't USE arc. I only play STO, so there is no reason to use Arc.

It would of been nice if Trendy would of included this bit of news in the maintenance announcement.
Basically, there's a 7-hour back-end maintenance going on for all Cryptic games in addition to regular updates/maintenance.

    Isn't life wonderful...

    Thank you for the time...

Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
    • Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
    • Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
    • Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content

You obviously haven't played many MMOs, then. Tuesdays are so legendary in the WoW community that you can buy T-shirts about it.

Four hours down, so we're half-way and more through the 'Scheduled Maintenance'...

lol WoW, does that p.o.s still exist? tried it once, logged on and uninstalled.
i played my fair share of MMO's though, but PWE as a company is one of the most cash grabbing, lazy bunch that i've seen.
that said again, PWE is great compared to daybreak lol.

I think they learned (from Scotty) that 7.5hrs of maintenance that ends 'early' causes less uproar than 2.5hrs of maintenance that requires extension(s). One makes you a miracle worker, the other makes you a incompetent boob.
