I wonder if the abilities that are valid candidates for Drain Infection could just have an always visible [Infectious] tag added to their tool tip?

illcadia, you might know... are all the abilities that can benefit from Control Amplification also triggering Invasive Control Programming?

No, Invasive Control Programming works like secondary deflectors do, and only listens for the activation of a specific set of powers. In all honesty, based on the structure of the tooltip, it probably was a secondary deflector at some point in design, but was turned into a trait.

Weapon procs and other attached effects are not considered "activated abilities" and therefore will not cause Control Amplification or Drain Infection to be applied.

Chroniton procs will not apply Control Amplification
Plasmonic Leech will not apply Drain Infection
Destabilized Emitters (Intel Spec) won't trigger Drain Infection
    ... etc.

Temporal inversion field and Krenim console does show the control debuff. Which is kinda cool...Just a long wait between uses..

The..Gravitic Anchor (omega 3 peice) does not show the Control debuff..It would be cool if it was hooked in :P

Which Krenim console? The science ship, the Annorax, or the Warship?

Timeline Stabilizer from the Krenim Science vessel.

    Tested in Cracked planet..
Timeline Stabilizer Shows and applies the control debuff (when in abilities range)
Temporal Inversion Field while it does show the control debuff..is not applying at any point in the abilities activation.
Gravitic Anchor- Does not show the control debuff...will test to see if it applies.

-Checked tool tip only outside esd-
Eject Warp Plasma (Engineer or Breen 4 peice) does not show control amplification.

Would the Heavy Graviton Beam (Maco Set) be considered a control ability?

Will there be an addition to the skill system like in the old one where we will be able to see a list of powers affected by each skill?

Is the Soliton Wave Generator considered a control power? I don't see it on the list, but always thought it was one.

Timeline Stabilizer from the Krenim Science vessel. GTG
    Temporal Inversion Field. GTG
Eject Warp Plasma (Engineer or Breen 4 peice)
Heavy Graviton Beam (Maco Set) GTG

Gravitic Anchor- Does not show the control debuff but is listed as a control device (per last patch)...will test to see if it applies.

Good point. It's an activated ability that applies both a pull and a power drain, so in theory it should trigger both Control Amplification and Drain Infection... and the Subspace Wake Generator should also be a candidate for Control Amplification based on its Speed/Turn debuffs.

Bort mentioned in the other thread that it would help if players could go through the various activatable powers for control and drain, and determine if they hook into these respective skills or not. I'll be maintaining a master list in the OP, but I don't have access to all the stuff out there, so if anyone has noticed the presence or lack thereof of these abilities, please indicate in your reply your findings.

    Control Amplification

    ITEM POWERS
Nukara Web Mines - NOT HOOKED IN (according to Tooltip on Tribble at time of this post)

    Nukara Web Mine Launcher
    +3 Stun for 3.1 seconds

Allowing Nukara Web Mines to "HOOK IN" to Control Amplification would seriously help them stop underperforming.

So..If the web mines are hooked in ..what about the web trait? It does the same thing.

Nukara Web Mines are not an activatable power, they are a weapon proc. Similarly, the trait is not an activatable power, it is a weapon proc.

Only when using torpedo spread. Normal firing doesn't proc it. I haven't tested high yield yet.

Chroniton procs will not apply Control Amplification
Plasmonic Leech will not apply Drain Infection
Destabilized Emitters (Intel Spec) won't trigger Drain Infection
    ... etc.

Ironically, the torpedoes and mines most in need of a boost from Control Amplification are ...

    Chroniton Torpedoes and Mines
    Tricobalt Torpedoes and Mines
    Nukara Web Mines

I suppose that the Particle Emission Plasma Torpedo cloud will be boosted by Control Amplification (since the cloud is boosted by Exotic Particle Damage), but not the impact kinetic and plasma burn effects (due to timing). Same deal I'd expect for the Gravimetric Torpedo and the rifts it can spawn.

But seriously ... I can understand if @borticuscryptic couldn't much such things "Hook In" immediately in time for Season 11.5, but it would be nice to give some consideration to looking to include some Hook Ins for selected weapons as a stretch goal for the future.

I dunno, expanding what it applies to will make it less and less intuitive and predictable. It will lead to the tribal knowledge that Bort wants to avoid. "Oh no, if you use Hirogen EPS-Reaving* Torpedoes, you don't need Drain Infection, they have type B* energy drain tgat doesn't trigger it. But if you use Gravimetric Torpedo, you need Control Amplification!"

A relatively simple to explain divider then would be the Energy Weapon vs Projectile Weapon (as opposed to merely Kinetic).

Energy Weapons don't hook into Control Amplification or Drain Infection.
Projectile Weapons do hook into Control Amplification and Drain Infection, if their effects yield either Controls or Drains (respectively).

That would then maintain the "don't bother asking about Plasma Leech Console" side of things to maintain the status quo. Almost all of the Projectile Weapons that would be affected tend to be the "less favored" types that are currently shunned (usually for lack of DPS throughput).

What does "fixed" mean in this list ?
If it means "added / working" then why not just add those to the list as "hooked in" ?

I'm looking for non-science abilities that trigger "Science Control Amplification" , and due to the nonexistent tool-tip & wiki info , I'm having a very hard time finding one , and this list is a bit unclear in that regard due to the "fixed" remarks .

This is by design. They are not activated abilities.

Would the Photonic Shockwave Torpedo from the Nadeon Detonator console be considered an activated ability?

As I'm looking to activate the "Control Amplification" proc on a Eng slot heavy ship (K'Tinga T5U) that does not have a lot of pew to begin with ... -- I was looking for the option to sacrifice an Eng BO power to activate the "Control Amplification" proc .

    From the list I quoted , I got :

    > Eject Warp Plasma - NOT HOOKED IN FIXED
    > Boarding Party - NOT HOOKED IN Intentional / Design Limitation
    > Emit Unstable Warp Bubble - HOOKED IN

Considering that none of those two powers are particularity appealing , I am now considering if I should go with a slotable item instead of a BO power .

Those are the only control abilities in engineering (Eject Warp Plasma and Emit Unstable Warp Bubble)..Most of the other control abilities, item wise or clicky, are listed (most of the control stuff is squarely in science..)

..Is there one in particular your eyeballin?

Keep in mind..Control Amplification Proc only refreshes, it does not stack when activating 2 or more control abilities.

I didn't see it mentioned, but I was curious if the Warp Theorist duty officer's power (adds a turn rate debuff to Tachyon Beam) counted as a control for Control Amplification.

I tested and it does not apply CA. I'm guessing this is intended, but on the off chance that it isn't, there you go.
