I'd kill for a proper exploration overhaul. I want to scan, conduct planetary surveys, rescue civilizations from cosmic disasters, discover new life and planets!
I want to boldly go where no man has gone before!

Probably going to be more destroying what no man has destroyed before ... even if the DO revamp exploration
Sure. Not saying it is. If you're here for the license, you're in the right place. But if you're looking for a more up to date engine and true 3D flight, there are options out there.
I've gotta ask, have you heard of a little thing called Star Citizen?
A new engine needs to be addressed for full 3d combat. I would LOVE it, though!
Also, I don't think Star Citizen will ever have an official release at this point. They have the money. More than enough of the money. They just keep making it rain b/c they don't seem to care how they spend it. Sure, they have something to show for it, but they just keep baiting the investors w/out a finished product.
I won't invest a penny into SC until they show an actual product. (The unofficial releases are still crazy sweet, though.)

I suspect it will be mostly the skill revamp. I have dreaded it for the past year and the longer we don't have it the better. It will be a nursery school system of red blue gold with 95% choosing red.
It's going to hurt specialty builds disproportionately, especially parts and drain.
Now one of the developers did tweet or something that he was working on a new 'system' he was very excited about - implying something cool as opposed to skill trees. I can't think what it is. Whatever it is it's probably what this is all getting at. Maybe bridge officers commanding ships? But that seems too big.

How do you do a spoken word version of a rap song?

Loved that bit. In fairness, Has Been is a great album, as real music not comedy. "Common People" with Joe Jackson, "That's Me Trying" with Aimee Mann & Ben Folds, "Real" with Brad Paisley. Good stuff.
What I would like to see is all older lock box ships put into the lobi store for the usual price of their tiers to make older rare ones more accessible again.
That would be big. Not in the quality of the voice acting, but in the size and ego of the actor.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Since he said big, I'm going to think in the biggest terms I can for this game... two words... Gamma Quadrant.
We've left the Dominion alone in their space but now is the time to be explorers again and it makes the Cardassian/Bajoran sectors more relevant so this leads to playable Cardassians (bring on Andrew Robinson and so many great actors for smaller roles like Natima Lang and such). Probably the Cardassians will be used much the same way as the Romulans so I'm not expecting a full faction, but I'll take it if it means flying some of the potential Cardassian ships Cryptic will end up designing.
Plenty of new species to interact with, with new NPC ships to blow up and potential lockbox mayhem with Karemma, Dosi, Tosk and Hunter vessels.
Couple the above with some obvious tie-ins to EACH series for the 50th Anniversary (Enterprise is obvious for its Temporal Cold War links but maybe we meet up with the Columbia, instead of Enterprise; TOS, the potential OH-MY-ness of meeting up with Captain Sulu of the Excelsior and the Enterprise-A gives me shivers; Next Gen for Patrick Stewart to melt our faces with awesomeness; DS9 for some Nana Visitor, Alexander Siddig, Rene Auberjonois and Avery Brooks action; then we get Admiral Janeway berate us for giving her a temporal headache) and I think we're getting halfway to something big.
Obvious quality of life improvements in game, return of small things to C-store, a mega sale on everything and a Venture to the Gamma Quadrant pack (similar to the Delta Ops pack) and a Gamma Recruit event for new and existing players to get a huge boost would also be nice.

"Every enemy NPC ship rolls twice on a table of faction-themed skills/consoles, adding random but lore-appropriate challenges to each encounter"
~or maybe~
"Each hostile faction now has a unique loot table that is drawn upon when a rare or better drop is scored. This table includes faction-specific weapons, faction-related consumables, and in extremely rare cases tokens that can be used to purchase genetic re-sequencers, hanger bay pets, and even sub-tier 6 ship unlocks."
Probably a new expansion, with new revamp skill tree, UI revamp maybe with less FPS drop (here is hoping for integrating the non-hangar pets in some sort of UI aswell) and some moar ships and maybe William Shatner VO. And it will arrive around 50th aniversary. But thats more likely, becouse of no time, we will skip, again, First Contact day
All I ask for as big news is the Romulans finally able to be a third faction outright instead of being forced to pick and choose over which one isn't as bad as the other as far as content goes. Make the Romulans there own freakin faction and power that doesn't require a choice between the two powers not hard to do really.
What happens to all the existing faction-aligned captains? With their faction-specific doffs and boffs? Also, you'd lose access to level-up ships from the faction when you create new characters.

If it isn't Star Trek related I don't give a flying TRIBBLE about it.

All good. I suspect the folks there will be perfectly happy to not have such an open minded sci-fi fan amongst them .
This design of rademaker's is absolutely amazing, T6 vulcan/andorian ship
Could it be we need to be thinking on a galaxy-size basis?
Like maybe getting a true exploration system of galactic proportions?

I'd settle for bigger sector space maps with more alerts and random encounters interspersed throughout.

Ohhh, that is Sah-wheet! Bit lacking in detail, but I love the lines of that.
Runs away from thread.

So maybe a little harder than you thought
I'm going to guess Gamma Quadrant. Maybe playable Dominion.
