I hope they're reading and understanding the total lack of enthusiasm this empty hot air tweet generated.
You're six years past the 'ooo, it's a new game, everything is possible!' phase. No one gives a squirt about 'possible'. You're at the 'deliver the goods' phase and have been for a while.
It would be nice if lifetime got some sort of compensation when skill respecs are made redundant. I'm not expecting any but it would be nice and fair. I've at least 30 still saved which is a good 15000 zen.
The optimist in me hopes this happens! The pessimist in me thinks we're ere to shell out extra for new abilities (KLW-style).

New boff abilities coming in season 12! Ensign = 500 zen, Lt = 1000 zen, lt commander = 1500 zen, and commander = 2000 zen! New player abilities for 3000 zen! And the players love it!
our new focus to make the game less focused on dps.
"all weapons will have damage reduced by 75%, ramming speed increased by 10000%, Enjoy"
You just reminded me of back when ramming speed was broken, and people just rammed the crystalline entity for insane damage without taking much themselves ... good times ...
Hmm, 50,000 zen to assign boffs as captains of your old ships and be a REAL admiral?? Or 50,000 zen for Gamma Rising is the best expansion ever, and the players love it?
T6 Constitution with all sorts of bells and whistles, updated/upgraded classic TOS weaponry, TOS uniform giveaways and a holo-Spock, holo-Scotty, holo-Bones epic boff set to celebrate the 50th anniversary.
Hmm. "Big Stuff" announced from the guy that gave us the best expansion ever we all loved so much?
Well, then it can't be something with much development time involved or something that is creative or actually working (and of course not fun to play).
My guess is increasing NPC HP and re-selling old ships at full price with a T7 tag. Worked before, will probably work again.
I'm excited! The quality of their work has been superb lately now that they've updated so many outdated mechanics... a few more things to touch up like the skill tree and crew mechanic and we will be golden! Adding more systems to play with like torpedos having different speed and defence stats based on type etc. Would also be cool. Just make things more complex and fun!
I expect a new expansion and new spec tree (Please God let it be a science focused Temporal one!) But perhaps they will really shock me and do something bigger like revamp and rebalance the entire game and separate PVP mechanics. If they wanna knock me out cold they'll rebuild the entire game on a fancy new engine with high end graphics and more intricate combat systems! A moderate ground revamp would also be most welcome.
Fancy new toys are nice but I'm hoping for a broad improvement to the underlying game it's beginning to show its age.
Indeed. Their work lately has indeed been superb! With a tried and failed doom of Enterprise show temporal war arc, the constant disconnects, the removal of background music, voiceovers, elite queues,... etc.
This and no clue given as to what the big thing that's about to happen? I'll just write that off as an empty promise that at least promises literally nothing making it the first statement that if not entirely truthful, at least isn't a pile of bak'tag with sour cream he's trying to sell as chocolate cake with vanilla icing.

Full 3D combat for the win!
I've gotta ask, have you heard of a little thing called Star Citizen?
Omg its a new expansion. Its all Enterprise themed and that theme song will play endlessly when the game is launched.
I have a feeling that you lack faith of the heart. Allow me to go find my acoustic guitar and sing a song of hope and inspiration to you. I'll be back soon...

I wish They would take all the old episode missions that have been removed from the game and just make them single, Re-playable, planetary missions spread out over the entire galaxy.
Just stick them helter-skelter around the game zones on planets that don't have anything attached to them at the moment.
Stick the Cardassian/Trueway ones in the Alpha Quadrant and the Klingon ones in the Beta Quadrant and so forth...

WTH... What if They are working on a new game to be announced around the Anniversary Day???

If this big thing is a skill tree revamp, I do hope that they add more diversity to the different careers.
Something similar to what we have on the ground, but then for space. Gravity wells only for sci's, something power bonus related for engineers and attack patterns exclusive to tacs. Right now, there's little reason to make engineering or sci characters if you only play space missions as they don't have any unique stuff (apart from maybe three or four captain abilities that are becoming less important with all the spec stuff and starship traits etc.) and tacs can do everything they can, plus do more DPS and with greater ease.
Adding more abilities would make things even easier though, so maybe make certain boff powers less powerful for other careers. Like if a tac uses hazard emitters, it does less than when a Sci uses it. When a sci uses something like a hull restore ability, it's less powerful than when an engineer uses it etc. Maybe less effective boff powers in space, and more career-specific abilities to make team work more necessary and more different roles viable.
Edit: So I hope a possible skill revamp will not be something similar to spec trees, where everyone gets even more abilities and access to the same new powers. We need more diversity, and generally less abilities so you have a need to specialise in your own career. Give different careers some meaning and reason to exist and make different roles viable, like we have on the ground.

Star Citizen isn't Star "Trek"
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wondrous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross. But it's not for the timid." - Q
Ok Cpt.Geko, I was joking with my comment before, hence the trollface, as to keep expectations low and evade being dissapointed - however if this is the game you want to play:
- Cardassian faction or fraction, if you will
- TOS themed content for the 50-th anniversary including an end-game TOS Constitution Class
- A brand new, engaging, viable, fun and repeatable exploration system
- William Shatner
- Liscencing agreement to bring certain J.J. Abrams Trek items to STO
- Liscencing agreement to bring Rademaker's Merian Class to STO
- Andrew Robinson
- Option for branching storytelling based on player choice that influences the outcome of the mission, based on faction perhaps?
- Star Trek/Andromeda crossover, with Kevin Sorbo and the Andromeda Ascendant
- End game NX Class full with interiors
Either one of these will do. Or multiple, I don't mind. Now, that said, I double dare you to not dissapoint!

So now I'm wondering how many zen we have to spend to be patronized. Seems like it's cheaper than I thought.

I'd agree with this!
Thank you for the time...

I read that as "Big stuff in THE store" and was like, "What else is new?"
My hope is that
1) Skill trees and specializations get merged because they do the same thing.
2) A number of more missions in the AQ because that part of the map is way underutilized.
4) A Tovan Kev for every faction. They were triplets split up at birth. Perfect.
Oh, yeah!
5) Re-doing the ranking system to have fewer captains and ambassadors treating your fleet admiral like a gofer.
Another reputation, a couple more lockboxes, another guest actor or 2 doing voices and some more T6 version of existing ships.
What do I win?
