As all 3-packs per each faction, these will be Fleet level ships. Meaning 11 consoles. And it has been confirmed by Captain JamJamz in another thread that they will be capable of using the T5 skins (but I don't know if those T5 skins will be available by default of if you firts need to own the T5 variants).
And please forget about those 14 Boff ability fantasies I've seen around (1 Commander, 2 Lt.Commanders and 2 Lieutenants).
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
finally the chance to consider one of these flagships. i didnt care much for the scimmy and even less so for the borty, and i wont even acknowledge the oddy because of its creation past and how it ended up on sto (something i will never forgive cryptic on with the latter). since this isnt the oddy any more i may look into one of these flagship types... thats assuming the dil market comes down to a reasonable price a few weeks after this has come in so i can make the zen work.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
So I bought a set cuz they were flagships.. then they weren't cuz you guys changed the level cap and now I get to buy them again because they are flagships? Anybody else have a problem with this?
Some people probably do, but MORE have a problem with 'iconics' and flagships not having T6 equivalents.
And the latter group are going to give them money where the former won't, so who are they going to listen to?
Real Temporal Operative: Purchased the Special Temporal Agent pack before it was even officially announced!
The game needs to make money, and popular ships are one of their best ways of doing so.
A good start would be designing better looking ships. I really dislike these angular, bulky looking designs they've been making lately. Quite unappealing visually. The new fed flagships look fugly in comparison to the gorgeous T5 odyssey model, imo.
While I do understand complaints about new versions "replacing" the old, I really don't see that Cryptic has much of a choice. It's a consequence of the nature of MMOs: with gameplay always evolving, and the game never truly being "complete", they pretty much have to come out with things like this every now and again just to keep up.
And honestly? I don't consider it a "waste" of money to have already bought the old ships. If they served you well, potentially for years, then I'd call that money well-spent.
Now, I do realize some people only bought the old flagships quite recently... but I feel I should point out the fact that T6 versions were coming has been known since about when the Yamato-class came out. The devs dropped a pretty broad hint in a blog right after the ship's release. Yesterday's announcement isn't really a surprise.
I've been waiting for this, I was ready, then I saw they had Command Boff seats. Imagine my disappointment. My wallet is happy though, cause it'll keep the money.

I anticipated the choice, personally. Being as I currently fly a T5U Scimitar, though, I'm not much concerned; I expect the T6 version will be perfectly capable without use of fancy specialization powers.

We’re very excited to reveal the T6 versions of the Odyssey, Scimitar and Bortasqu’. Each type comes in three variants for Engineering, Science, and Tactical!
The T5s from the store needs to drop in price considerably. Why buy a T5 now, if you can get the T6 at the same level. So now the T5s are just for skins and consuls. And for the regular player on a limited income, which you think they will go for. The newest version.
If you notice, Tier 5 ships are available from level 40 for 2000 Zen. All the level 50 T5 ships should have been called T6 to begin with.
However, these level 50 Tier 5's should definitely have their availability be lowered to level 40 when the T6 becomes available. The price should drop to 2000 Zen to match and the Tier 6 ships should logically cost 2500 Zen, not 3000.
Follow the pattern up the Tiers and Ranks and you can see that a 3000 Zen ship should only be for level 60 - imagine the uproar...
To be honest, no. I got my money's worth out of the T5/T5U Odyssey. And it isn't as if they are suddenly obsolete just because a T6 version has appeared.
As far as I can see, the T6 is the same as the T5-U but with a specialty boff seat, extra ship skin(s) and a Starship Trait. I'm more than happy to live with a T5-U.

...
It's only some T5 ships that are like this. Most others - including all ships avaiable in pack are at 2500 Zen (when buying separate). And the level 50 ships are more T5U (once upgraded).
Still, personally i don't care much - the new Megapack will be propably at 12000 Zen, and when it will first show it will (propably) be at 10% discount.
Then at next ships sale it will be at 20% discount with all other ships - that means 9600 Zen for whole Megapack...
Meh - doable - i got already many ships - Command Megapack, Dyson Megapack, Delta Pack, Scimitar Pack, Bortasqu Pack, Galaxy Pack (T5), T6 Escorts Bundle, T6 Dread Bundle, T6 Cruiser Bundle, Vesta Pack plus some interesting single ships - all without paying any real money - just time grind and dilithium saving.... so it will take me half a year, but i will get them
One thing that i'm really interested in is question: will the new console set be completed by Krenim Science Ship console?
Last time, when they put Command Battlecruisers, their console sets was completed by anniversary ship console - the one from Kobali Samsar Cruiser...
Nope. I've got three Fleet-spec T6 ships... They're all slightly more durable, have an extra console slot, and are totally worth making the investment for if you've got a T6 you like. I got the Fleet Carrier, Fleet Pathfinder, and Fleet Manticore, and they've repeatedly edged out the Zen version of them.
My guide to internet survival:
NEVER argue with trolls, drunks, idiots, or conspiracy nuts. They'll just drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
I've been waiting for this, I was ready, then I saw they had Command Boff seats. Imagine my disappointment. My wallet is happy though, cause it'll keep the money.
What, exactly, would have been better and why? Intel, a specialization that's not thematically fitting, and is mostly used for more damage output, on ships that, excluding the scimitar, are less than "ideal" for the role? Pilot, something that was introduced with escorts and meant to represent nimbleness and be used on ships that could withstand the stresses?
Dont suppose they can add an option to buy the cross faction proficiency bundles, ie science bundle, engineering bundle, tac bundle as well for us who only like focused ship types.
In the Scimitar's case, I hope to god NOT. I'd like more than a room and a set of steps in a premium C-store purchase, thanks Cryptic
Seriously, I really hope they get a proper bridge in this one. (I would love to see a few new bridges for the roms, I find it hard to believe that the T'liss and, well basically every other ship other than the Scimitar have the exact same bridge.
ruff, meow, moo, whatever.... *shrug* [ Still Waiting for a Shiny New T6 Romulan Science Ship to Command ]
sorry but im kinda REALLY disappointing with the look of the new T6 Scimitar, was kinda expecting better with all the awesome concept art out for there renditions of a T6 Scimi. other than that looking good so far abuility wise
Just my two cents: the flagship would have been perfect in-game-logic for a Lt. Com Uni/uni to reflect the pinnacle of versatility and technology of the faction. Or at least of the three one with uni/Intel; Uni/pilot; Uni/Command. Uni/Comm is meh to me, already have several ship with that one so i think i'll pass on this one since they wouldn't add much to my experience.
I wonder if there will be new pets to go with these ships? Will there be an updated Aquarius, HoH'SuS and Drone ship? Or will the current ones be available to use on the new T6s?
Yes. I don't even own the previous 9-ship bundle and I'm still astonished they thought this was a great idea. It's offensive, really, and I'd be pretty upset if I had those ships and was being encouraged to pay all over again for T6 variants of all nine ships.
That said, I'm not really mad but I am inclined to opt-out and let my closed wallet tell them what I think about it.
I'm not because this is a retail product and they need to earn a living as well
I prefer the sets with the massive discount, and if the console sets are in line with recent ships (ie usable at the same time instead of shared CD's with the original Oddy's) then it will be an interesting purchase.
Though these are certainly new and shiny, and as such powerfully temping, it's important for folks to remember that these new ships don't change your T5/T-5U ships in any negative way whatsoever. If you like your T5 Odyssey, and don't feel like spending... well great, continue enjoying what's made you happy for all this time! Don't rail at Cryptic for trying to make money with new content and ship designs. How else do you think this game will survive another six years? It's a business, not a charity.
amen i could not have said it better my self...the level of entitlement hasn't changed i see nor has the moronic notion that everything should be free....smh
In the Scimitar's case, I hope to god NOT. I'd like more than a room and a set of steps in a premium C-store purchase, thanks Cryptic
I hope so since all the other T6 vessels up to this point were stuck with the same crappy bridges that have been universally around since forever. And I do hope these vessels get new interiors as well.
Interestingly it does not say if the consoles are part of a set and if you get an improved version of QSD. Also no mention of a fleet versions, if you can switch ship parts with the previous versions and if you can add the previous ship set consoles to the T6 ships. Hopefully there will be more information in the follow-up blog.
agreed, those counsels need be allowed to carry over to these new T6 designs. Otherwise, cryptic can expect a lot of hate mail before long.
Thats what C-store unlocks do, you buy it once and can forever claim in on any captain of the right faction thereafter.
What? Wait... I... ((logs in to perform some experiments)).
Well nifty! I had some confusion with that after checking to see if I could pull out a second Eclipse for my Fed-aligned Romulan. Most of my pride-and-joy ships are from lock boxes/lobi. I guess only one captain will have the Tarantula skill and another the Paradox skill. Unless there's some sort of reclaim option for those I'm overlooking ...?
Thank you for clearing that up. I guess I need to start setting aside the pennies (and 20$ bills) for the 9 piece pack.
FYI, I know you can claim event ships, and possibly also ones obtained from lockboxes etc (I don't have any myself, so I can't confirm) by going to the Reputation tab of your Character window, Events (at the bottom of the list), then the Store tab, and finally, Account Reward Claim.

Reputation yes.
Lockbox no. (Unless I am seriously missing something. Because I would love to have my lockbox ships on some other toons fleets.)

Cool! Maybe next will be some T6 Andorian, Vulcan, Orion or Gorn ships
i was thinking what the 6 piece bonus would be, that would be a great one!

I like the pylons and some of the Body parts on the Soujourn.
I think a kitbash of the two could replace my T5U Ambassador, but need to see stats and what not.
Still waiting to be able to use forum titles
