Original STO beta tester.
Yes, those have been nice to have when creating new alts, and for Admiralty now too. There have also been costume unlocks I didn't have. Whatever we get, it's free just for logging in and claiming it so I'm not going to complain.
Since they have also indicated that some of the Daily Give-aways may be multiple items, that normally indicates consumables or items of some type. No excuse for people to complain about that. Nah, who am I kidding, they still will.
Don't forget 'I will be out of town, or blah, blah, blah' so we still can have plenty of angst.

Sadly you are right. It is free, and free is good.
No that doesn't mean anything offered for free isn't appreciated for those high on their pedestals preaching it just means "try" to include everyone & that Andromeda fiasco was a perfect example.
Is it a nice gesture to even have such an event? Absolutely. Is it possibly subtle manipulation to offer for free some item/service knowing the majority of your player-base already has it? Yes as well if this ends-up the case again.
They still haven't released the full-monty of info. about the Krenim Science Vessel so maybe it is some temporal Sci. Dreadnought. Either way I hope it is a nice ship. If it has some time-in component that benefits a C-Store version, seems to be a Cryptic trend, then if it offers enough value then I'll consider a purchase otherwise no more blindly tossing money at Cryptic for rinse & repeat.
One good thing is that most times the episodes are well done so I'm looking forward to the "Time & Tide".

Plus the last giveaway before the winter event was truly epic as it had all sorts of great stuff given out for free (spec points for every character, bank slots the same, T5 ships, costumes, Enterprise bundle), there really was something for everyone in that one. And the full Zen total of all that stuff was huge if you added it all up.
I'll be making sure people in zone chat knows what's going on in case they don't come by the website.
Whatever it is they'll give us, it is appreciated

Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
you forget the 'I will be away on business/holiday or just too busy with family/life to spare the time' comments.
then again half the fun of giveaways is having a good laugh over those kind of threads.
like I said in another post there are bound to be items you cant claim for whatever reason, its just nice they are giving stuff away whether you can claim it or not.
exclusivity doesn't really apply to most c-store giveaways in most cases, though there is the odd exception.
if you already have an item or cant claim it because of faction does not make it exclusive in the same way an item that is unique to a certain event is exclusive.
the idea is they want you to look at the web page every day or so I think rather then relying on others in game or out notifying you there are free items to be had in any case.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
Since it's posted in the Official STO News Blog, linked into the launcher, and most likely going to be e-mailed with the "don't forget there's an upcoming event" spam (I mean) advertisement - There's only one "valid" reason that "a player" should be unaware of this.
And that's "ignorance". As in "I'm ignoring everything the Company wants to say about STO."
With that being said - are these people "deserving" of the rewards if they "seemingly" indicate a complete disreguard for the game and/or company?

If past giveaways were an indication they pretty much stopped giving away ships. It's mostly spec points, ship slots, costumes, R%D packs, maybe three lockbox keys. The time "endgame" ships were given away seems over. Still, I'd be hyped if the D'Kyr would be one giveaway this time
EDIT: That's entirely not true, there have been T5 giveaways last time. Stop talking nonsense, Targ!
