season 11 a little meh?

Is it just me that thinks season 11 wasnt worth the download bandwidth?
A couple of new missions but nothing spectacular, enough to explain mirror incursions.
Another grind rep system that on paper looks pretty pants, it might not be but it looks it.
The new DOff syste......ahem, sorry, admiralty system, seems only good for XP.
A few ok stfs removed (a fleet one and a couple of others).
Queues take forever to pop at the moment which is annoying.

So all in all, not much has been fixed, more has been broken and yet theres barely any content, more so when you compare to DR or LoR.

I genuinely was really looking forward to it as well, the exploration, the star treky stuff but nope, just more mindless spacebar mashing and grind.

Time to step out again for Another 3 months.
Unless Im missing some hidden content or something.

They call them seasons for a reason. You have seen one episode of this season so far. It's hard to judge an entire season based on the first episode.

your conparing a season... not even a whole one to expansions.

and we just met a new race, saved em, then talked them into peacefully joining else. it doesn't get more trek then that.... not that anyone cares it seems.

Well so far its just a grindfest. The new sunshine was nice (hence my mention of 'new missions') but really thats not much. Although again that just turned into a shootfest. So far its not even a teaser

I like to pre-judge an entire season based on one episode, it saves time.

    (Yes, that was sarcasm.)

Yes, it is a bit of dud.

We didn't even get the promised dry dock with it.

Wow, we had 1 episode and you are already saying meh?

Didn't you notice a new battleground (well, a copy), admiralty system, the cardassian arc rework, the upcoming drydock system, a new reputation and 2 new queues?

Plus 5 giveaways, a forum ship design event, 2 xp events and a mirror invasion event.

alright I'm gonna say something alittle mean, I assure you I mean no no harm and its for your own good.

this a mmo there gonna be fighting in basically every mission it's kinda hard to level otherwise. if you can't accept that and enjoy the more treky parts of the game, and yes the do exist despite what some say. just get the hell out and don't bother people,

you know the difference fun and grind is? nothing at all, and no I don't mean some people like x some y. I mean the real difference is that you ruin the fun by making yourself do something cause you "have" to. if you don't like the game then leave already and if you don't come back it's cryptic's lost.

Again, noone remembers when they did the season for the Solane? Took MONTHS to get all the episodes done and the Voth area was a whole half season addon!

Rome is not built in a day, neither is a season kids.

Did you wake up on the 1st of January with a headache and figured 2015 would be a terrible year because of it? Of course not, that would be ridiculous, right? A year goes from the 1st of January to the 31st of December, and season 11 goes from its launchday till the day season 12 is launched. There's a whole lot more to come.

I liked Season 10. The queues were fun, the episodes are good, the system addition (armada) was great.
Season 11 has great queues, a good episode so far and Admirality is a great way for advancing a character's spec points.
So in theory, Season 11 has everything it needs to be liked.

Except that Season 10 launched without breaking 2 invasion zones and 3 queues. Without breaking the ability to even enter organized PvP. Without breaking the ability to load into specific maps. Without breaking half the doff assignment. Without breaking reputation sponsorship tokens.

I think the point is clear. Could the Iconian War have been portrayed better? Perhaps. But the content we got was great, while leaving the rest of the game intact. They literally broke almost nothing. This? Well, I'm getting afraid that either the missing queues and zones will have to be rebuild from scratch to fix, or that we see them as soon as the Terradome fix is live.

I've been more enthousiastic for Seasons in the past.

    They definitely promised dry dock.
They also promised it wouldn't be up at the same time as Season 11 launch.

Terran rep gear is some of the best reputation gear since Omega. Have you even looked at it?

I like the season fine so far and don’t share your skepticism OP.

We got well enough contend to call it a season and with the admiralty system a new game mechanics has been introduced with deals with most of the grind and alt unfriendliness most peeps where complaining about. If they keep the rewards as they are it’s really the end of the grind in this game.

Only downside is the breaking stuff of available contend as well as the poor rewards on the two new pve maps. Both matters got attended to within 1,5 weeks with today’s patch, so no biggi.

There are a few things I like about this season, although I definitely wouldn't count that new battleground. It truly a jumbled mess of different oranges and yellows. At least the Voth battleground had a blue background to distinguish between the endless explosions. This one is like playing in orange camouflage.

Admiralty system is meh, but it does reward pretty well so at least there's that. The new battle zone, even tho a copy and paste of the undine battle zone is a fun and easy way to get trash terran marks. Finally, the first episode of the new arc is interesting and I'm anxious to see where the story goes. Once they restore defera, nukara, and fleet alert I'll be a much happier camper.

Season 11 can't be judged yet. We're only 1 episode in.

So far though, I like it. The only 'season' I haven't liked so far is Delta Rising. I don't mean the usual stuff, I mean the story line.. the missions were just not fun at all IMO.

So far though, the first mission has my interest. I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to the next episode. The Cardassian revamp is pretty good, and I enjoy the Battlezone. I'm luke warm on the Admiralty system, though I do enjoy the tons of XP I'm getting from it.

I haven't gotten around to the new ques yet, hoping to try those tomorrow.

    So far, I like it.

@seaofsorrows I forgot about the new cardi arc. Those story missions were very well done. I agree with you that dr was the only season/expansion, whatever you wanna call it, that I didn't enjoy. Mostly because leveling up was so frustrating. Storyline getting interrupted by stupid patrols and level blocks blah. I'm glad they reevaluate the level reqs for those missions. Should make taking a new character though that content a much more enjoyable experience.

The Patrol missions was a HUGE part of it, yes. It sucked having to do all those patrols before you could go on to the next mission. The other issue, was I just didn't enjoy the content. I didn't like the story and didn't find any of the missions to be fun.

I enjoyed the Iconian story, I know some people didn't, but I did. I recently took a newer character through that story arc and it was fun for me. The DR story just had a certain feel to it that I can't describe, but it just wasn't fun. Everything felt so tiedeous and I just wanted it to be over. The Iconian Arc was much better and so far Sunrise feels to me to be a lot more like the Iconian arc then the DR Vaadwaur story.

I think people are judging Season 11 too prematurely, I personally prefer to wait until the entire story line is done to make my decision. So far though, it has my interest.

DR was just like voyager for me, I couldn´t stand it and I found myself rooting for the appointed bad guys more often than not! I would´ve rather joined the Vaadwaur in crushing those evil body snatching kobali that liked to hide pods with people in them to harvest the bodies. Man, the more you think about it the more we should´ve brought down the hammer of space justice on the kobali! Why were we helping them at all?

easily dissatisfied fanbase. actually as season releases go this has been one of the best ones as player reactions go. normally you see at least one doom thread about how the sky is falling and 5 or 6 threads like this.

Season 11 is dire. It adds nothing to the game at all.

The biggest addition to the game is the Armada system which is nothing more than a crude attempt to get you to buy more ships from them.

I have a few lockbox ships right now and am being forced into not only buying new ships if I want to take part in the Admirality, but also to buy ship slots in which to keep them since the dry dock thing they talked about has been kept back.

What else does 11 offer ? Nothing....

You could just skip the patrol missions, i fyou didn't like them. The problem was that you needed tons of skill points to advance.

Played just once as part of the story flow, the patrols are pretty good. They are basically fleshing out the Delta Quadrant and its factions, and if it's been a while since you last saw Voyager, it's a great refresher in my opinion. They are a bit of a background detailing work.

But if you're in the story flow, you want to stay in the story flow, you don't want to grind something else to finally get the next part of the arc. It doesn't even matter if the stuff you grind is fun gameplay - you're looking for new story in that moment.

    Why the negativity over admiralty?

Nobody is forcing you to do anything over it. You just get more (and quiet friendly much more) out of what you already have and just didn’t use before.

Players garb spec points out of it left and right each day. I’m down to 2 PvE for max Dil a day with the help of it. Admiralty doesn’t cost a thing just the klick of a handful of buttons each day.

This system puts an end to the grind in this game and those who were dedicated to STO the most the past years probably will get rewarded the most, yea. Why is this wrong?

You cannot possibly make this judgement since Season 11 has only just started.
You could just skip the patrol missions, i fyou didn't like them. The problem was that you needed tons of skill points to advance.

The Patrol missions were just part of it for me. In my personal opinion, I just hated the entire DR arc, none of the missions were fun for me and I couldn't get into the story line at all. Some of the missions were so tedious that they made the Patrol Missions look thrilling. That mission where you run around on the Talaxian settlement and repair consoles and gather ingredients for the stupid chef? Seriously.. who thought that would be enjoyable? Or the silly mission where you have 'sneak' into the base by repelling everywhere even though you're out in the open pretty much the entire time. Those are just a few examples, I know it's all personal taste, but I hated every mission in the DR arc. It was like taking a shot of Nyquil, I just wanted to get it over with.

I found the Iconian Arc much more enjoyable, and I also enjoyed Sunrise, so I have some optimism for the remaining episodes.

I hated that mission as well. Star fleet sends a famed admiral to the delta quadrant to deal with a dangerous threat and you end up fetching ingredients for dinner and repairing computer consoles?
