They better not...I just spent about 70$ the last two weeks on the game.

Aside from obvious "not being able to play at all" thing, I think some of the annoyance comes from the fact that they advertised the TRIBBLE out of this expansion for over a month and yet they didn't catch this rather fundamental bug. Might just be me but I think it wouldn't have been as bad if it were a routine patch that had an unfortunate bug in it. I just feel with all the hype about the new story and features, they should have been extra diligent to make sure everything worked at launch. But then again, that might just be me.

Yes, I agree... but that is almost a separate issue. I also think it's stupid that you don't test a game on a system you say you support... and I'm pretty sure they don't test on a Mac, given what CrypticFrost (former QA lead) told me last year during the DR issues.

But, they don't, for whatever reason. (And, if I'm wrong about that, devs, my bad.)

Again... my only point is to keep a cool head, and be patient. Keep asking, sure, but remember who you're dealing with.

they don't even test on all their supported platforms? what are these people even being paid for? jfc

Another question: I have a late 2014 iMac that I've never been able to get past the title loading page on. My Macbook Pro Retina does just fine getting past, any ideas? Obviously differences in hardware (my Macbook is about 4x the computer my iMac is), but has anyone else had this issue?

Not being part of the twitter and facebook community I would like to know, if there are news about the mac problem? on here it seems to be quiet...nothing on the launcher. :/ .but a 20% off on costumes..hope this can compensate for the losses the excluded mac users might cause... :D

It's probably the graphics, I know mine has problems with the shadow settings.

I actually would be curious to know exactly how much money the Mac user's make the company. I mean it does kinda give you the warm squishies knowing exactly how much your absence hurts profits

I know I've put up enough to hire a couple expert developers for a whole day to troubleshoot this for sure.

Nothing new, just a recent Tweet saying they're still looking into it. My strong impression is that they're still trying to diagnose the problem.

my bet is that since they don't even use mac themselves to test or play content, they have absolutely no idea what is going on and won't for a long while

Well at least we got our daily update we have been screaming for. Thank you Cryptic.

Disappointing though that they don't still even know what the problem actually IS. I really hope this is being treated as a major concern and is their current no 1 priority, I don't want to wait till next week until I can get into season 11.

After launching the brand STO S11 with no "SUCCESS" on my mac I tryied launching installing it on bootcamp. Finally played for a while so I realized the problem was the MacOS... but... I´ve had problems to start the game even on bootcamp for last two days!!!... login ok,... progress bar ok,... New Dawn window Start ok.... and then... CLOSE!!!... also appears a kind of crash window asking me to submit the problem to Cryptic. It was unable to start the game anymore... it looks it could be worse than expected and there are even problems on windows systems as well, don´t know really, hope not so big!

Anyway the best we can do is trying to help the engineers not being rude or swearing, maybe the WHOLE Cryptic team work together and solve this huge bug faster than usual. They know now we are loads of macusers (Mac-Army?) from the whole planet Earth playing STO and won´t let us apart... so I believe.

Shame, there are not so many cross platform online sci-fi games to use the Mac. :(

Is there any guess on how long it will take, because at this rate i will use bootcamp assistance and put windows on this computer

It runs on my 2008 MBP and on my 2010 iMac. You might need to try re-install.

That looks like exactly the same crash backtrace bennytrek posted here a day or so ago. From my reading, it looks like something in the cider Windows DLL load/init code is blowing up, which could easily be a library incompatibility or something like that.

I was wondering if we might be missing a needed library file (which might be easy to copy back in), so I spent a little time today comparing the STO app folder DLL files from a mid-October Time Machine backup with the current S11 version. Unfortunately, everything seems to be there and not updated at all, so the issue is most likely in GameClient.exe (which was updated in the patch). Linked against the wrong version of the DLLs currently installed on the Mac version, maybe? Doesn't explain why some Windows users seem to have the same problem, though....

I'm happy to hear official word people are working on this, at least. From what I've seen of the bug, it should be relatively easy to reproduce, as long as they've got a Mac handy. But if the problem is inside the Windows code, there may be major tool issues trying to debug Windows code running inside cider on a Mac platform. The Mac debugger doesn't know anything about Windows libraries or APIs, and the Windows tools that do probably don't work on the Mac very well. They may be forced to go back to the old standby of sticking printf's in the code to find out what's happening. Ugh.

This didn't happen after Delta Rising (at least not for all Mac users) or the Iconian War expansions though. Why would this expansion be so different from the others?

I know that macs have always been an issue when it comes to sto, but I was wondering if you could give us a time frame. I've been trying my Mac religiously hoping that it has been fixed. This my favorite game and I am sad that I can't play it

The update is greatly appreciated. It's unfortunate that cryptic is still trying to find the SOURCE of the issue, but god speed nonetheless.

This could have been identified 3 weeks prior to launch "if" Cryptic were aware that Mac users were not able to log into Tribble after Season 11 content was uploaded. A thread was created on the 4th of October in MAC: PC, NETWORK, AND OTHER TECHNICAL ISSUES highlighting an inability to load Tribble. Also in TRIBBLE - BUG REPORTS 8th October reported that unable to load in Tribble

The error msg is different File Not found instead of Success msg Holodeck is showing. However prior to S11 content being uploaded to Tribble i know i could load Tribble. But in truth i rarely use Tribble to have found it to be a problem to me at the time.

Someone here saying that they don't test their games across all platforms is shocking and appalling. (Something that most people probably aren't to shocked to hear by Cryptic's past showings). But if you are going to offer a product across multiple platforms then you dam well make sure that product works on all those platforms. And offer an equal level of support across them.

These guys are so dam lucky that there's no competition from any other company with a Star Trek MMO on offer as i think we can agree a lot of people would jump ship. I mean you wouldn't accept this level of service from a Mobile phone provider, a Broadband Supplier, Electric Company ect. You'd have moved supplier by now. As custodians of the only Star Trek MMO on the market they seriously need to up their game.
