I am hoping these 2pc set bonii granting turn rate actually will work unlike the poor Bortasqu? Ships do look interesting though :)

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles

Hmm, at first glance it looks like KDF/Romulans get the slightly better stats. Still the Fed one does live up to expectations (my expectations, I expected a near-carbon-copy of the Andromeda boff layout with a slightly more Tactical console layout), so I'd probably buy one of these. :)

The console set bonuses with that Cloak console was a bit of a surprise though lol. Might be worth equipping it if the set bonus is good enough.

Quick question though, I assume the Yamato can equip the consoles from all the previous Galaxy variants (Antimatter spread, Molecular Cohesion thingey, Saucer Seperation (I think this one was mentioned))?

Edit: A big thank you for putting a Lt. Comm. Tac station on the Yamato, that beastie might just be able to pull some crazy damage now! :D

So the Guramba will be the new standard in DPS?
Well excuse me for having enormous flaws that I don't work on.

So it has the same boff layout as the t6 galaxy? I was hoping for something a little different...

I'm loving on the Kolasi and the Kara. Those are awesome ships :)

Any word on the stinger fighter stats? Do they just copy the upgrades the To'dujs get or are they different?

Any more info/images on the Nausicaan Stinger Fighters, and their Advanced/Elite counterparts?

Guramba needed its ltcom tac as the command seat and whats up with the nausicaan ship consoles not being part of a set (plasmonic leech, theta radiation)

Excellent - Yamato stats are spot on; that's a winner.

What I want to know is whether the lance can actually hit anything now? As great as those stats are, if the lance is still a lemon.....

Slightly disappointed with the Console layout 5/2/3. A 4/3/3 would have been sweet for standard version and 4/3/4 for the fleet but its an improvement on the current Gal-x in game, not sure on whether to buy this or keep the tier 6 Galaxy as boff stations are exactly the same, the Tier 6 Galaxy benefits from either an extra Embassy console or a Research console which can give better dps returns than a 4th tact console.

The single hanger and lance aren't enough to place this in the must have category above those that already own the tier 6 Galaxy.

This is caters more to existing Galaxy-X pilots, i can't see it having many people whose main ship is a Eclipse, Guardian, Arbiter or Command ship jump out of those to fly this one it simply isn't better than any of those.

So, Yamato question - it has a two piece bonus from the old Dreadnaught console , but can it also equip the Galaxy set?

As I expected really. Short-duration/long-CD Console version of OsS, and 4 Tac consoles on that Yamato.

I'm expecting the built-in lances to have poor accuracy in exchange for being built-in, rather than a console.

I'm hoping that Kara can use the Mirror skin on it as well.

...And also, will they acquire the 2-piece set bonus: "Improved Starship Hull Plating and Starship Armor Reinforcements skills as well as your ship's Turn Rate," Saucer gaining Antimatter Spread, Phaser Wide Beam in Separated mode, and Saucer lance?

I will be curious what that second bonus actually adds to turn rate. If it's +2 like the other set, that's Turn 10 in full mode and turn 20(!!!) with the saucer separated. The sets eat up 4-5 console slots (depending on whether or not you have the Andromeda console in the mix) so it's a big hit, but with the Lt.Cmdr tac slot and that kind of maneuverability and defense capability, it could be a LOT of fun to fly.

I don't even care so much about the bonuses from the set the T5 Galaxy Dread can equip, I just want to know if the Yamato can still utilize Saucer Seperation.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

Now that I've looked over the stats a bit more, Eclipse can still easily edge it out. OsS3 + SS3 can output far more than the lance could with its CD and it also has a built-in cloak for decloak damage bonus.

Not saying the Yamato is bad; but it requires its console to provide a similar effect to OsS, the cloak console to provide cloaking capabilities, and the Lance is clearly going to be relied upon to do the brunt of the damage. Granted, Yamato can better tank overall.

Still going to buy the bundle more for the KDF and Rom ships though, but at least the Yamato has some tolerable alternate hull designs I can live with. Here's hoping that the 3rd Nacelle isn't tied to the hull though and can be independently chosen.

So... T6 BoP is next, right?
  • jaturnleyjaturnley Member Posts: 1,218 Arc User
Gotta say, it really looks like the Kolasi is the real winner here. It's the best flight deck escort in the game even if you ignore the siege mode and lance. It's fast, maneuverable, durable, has the great versatility of the KDF's fighter arsenal to pick from, and it has all 11 console slots free to fill up with your favorites.

Not a safe bet with a weapon that is more than capable of missing a Borg unimatrix ship despite being sat right next to it!

Two sacrifices have to be made for not having that BFG as a console too, that also doesn't take up a weapon slot. And that's a lack of accuracy and either more lack of accuracy or lack of damage.

But on the other hand, at least it'll more likely hit if you saucer-sep and Wide-Beam it.

To all those who said she'd only have a Lt Tac - Ya boo sucks to you LOL.

Awesome layout, very happy with that, properly built this is going to be one very hard to kill ship that can really dish out the Deeps, all that and and and it's a Galaxy-X!!!! My poor heart can't bare this kind of shock, a good Galaxy-X, I just hope the lance is as TRIBBLE as ever because if it actually works that's sure to finish me off ;)

I am glad my scepticism has been proven wrong. Not sure about the command specialization, but then again pilot and intel would have been odd on ships of this class.

Gurumba mk 2 looks like a winner, but some additional info about the fighters would be nice.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Same exact BO layout of the Andromeda Class? A dreadnought this ship, is not. =P
  • lestrallestral Member Posts: 15 Arc User
A dreadnought like this should get parse results in STF missions like the Romulan Scimitar. Stats announcements should include such parse results from STF runs on Tribble in the future.

Unless I see the parsers returning 60K to 80K DPS results during STF missions, I'm not buying it. It may look like a dreadnought but unless it performs like a dreadnought in players hands, not NPCs, its not worth the money.

They couldn't give the Andromeda the same loadout in Eng flavor as the Pathfinder (even though the Intrepid, Defiant, and Galaxy all shared identical layouts just in their respective class flavor before) due to massive playerbase whining, and the Defiant is likely either to copy the Andromeda or Pathfinder in layout.

And they couldn't give the superior loadout of the Guardian to the Andromeda either. At least they didn't give the Andromeda or its KDF equivalent the loadout of the D'Kellra (even though the D'K still has a technically superior Boff vs the Andromeda Layout, ignoring the Command hybrid on the LtC Tac).

At least they stuck to canon, as far as how canon as the Galaxy-X is; it's just a more offensive Galaxy. So the Yamato is just a more offensive Andromeda.

Personally, they should have given the Andromeda the Eng-centric seating of the Pathfinder, then give the Yamato the seating it has, which is also the Andromeda seating. But at least both have some fangs now.

Well it's better than its predecessor, but for alpha-strike firepower it's still beaten by the Arbiter as that ship has a better weapons layout and a better boff setup.

You do know that most of the people getting 80k DPS are doing so by taking advantage of a known bug in the Kemocite-Laced weapons boff ability that spikes damage when using BFAW, right? I have seen people using absolute TRIBBLE rainbow boat builds pull 40-50k DPS because of it. When they fix that bug (likely to happen in S11 since it also affects the new torp abilities from the Terran set), DPS is going to drop sharply across the board. Either that or they won't fix it and everyone's DPS will shoot up to the hundreds of thousands because of the torp bug. Here's a video of that:

LtCdr Tac slot on the Gal-X AT LAST.

The Boff stations are not the same. The Lt Tac BOFF has been upgraded to Lt Commander. Which means CSV/CRF 2 andBFAW/BO/TS/THY 3 are now available. As should be expected on a Dreadnought. Also it has a Command Specialist slot.

So yeah, this about what we've been wanting out of the Galaxy-X and I'm quite pleased.
