When it comes to stats for Galaxy variants (in this case the Yamato) the smart thing is to expect the worst.
Haha I get it, you can't actually lose can you. If you are right then you win the forum speculation, if you are wrong and we are right you get the ship you want, win win either way. Or maybe I'm just over analysing you here. Anyway, few more hours and we'll know won't we.
Don't get me wrong i love my galaxy-x and i hope that it will get stellar stats and layout. However experience has taught me that when it comes to any galaxy variant in STO one better not get ones hopes up.
With galaxy variants disappointment lurks around every corner.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Fed Galaxy X - I have to say, the model for the ship is absolutely beautiful. I know it's based heavily off the Andromeda, but I think that one was also very nicely done. Overall, I don't think I'll get one because I don't think it would be any type of upgrade over my Presidio. Still, it's a nice ship.
T6 Guramba - Ok, this one has my attention. I want to see the stats on it, but I'm considering making a KDF Character (maybe an all Nausiaacan crew) and picking this up. I'm waiting to see the stats, but this one is interesting.
T6 Ha'apax - I love the idea, looks like a nice ship model and will probably have a pretty solid layout. Again though, since I have a Scimitar and a Vastam for my 2 Romulans, I don't think this one appeals to me even though I do own the C-Store Ha'apax with the worthless dual vector console.
Being that these come in a '3 pack' I am really hoping that means they're already fleet level ships.
A lot will be determined by the final stats, the consoles and traits are unimpressive overall. The models for all 3 on the other hand look absolutely beautiful from what I can see so far. The design team (in my opinion) has been really bringing their A game lately.
Actually I'm looking forward to the T6 Hapaax / Haakona even with the dual console. I do not own any scimitards and my only romulan is science captain, not tac. So a ship that can be set so it can accomodate me with tactical / science / tank option with a small shuffle of boffs and separation does look like cool stuff to me. Of course I'm not dps hunter and I play mostly for the aesthetics and star trek feel nowadays.
But yeah, the console feels like crappy version of plasmonic leech and the trait is very situational.

You have to understand Crytpic's history with anything related to the Galaxy-class' stats at T5. There's years of anger and drama over that. Why one of the symbolic hero ship classes had such subpar stats. When the Galaxy Revamp from a long time ago was hitting, there were a lot of high hopes that Cryptic would make the Galaxy / Galaxy-X on par with the other Cruisers in the game. But the Galaxy Revamp was nothing but a huge disappointment. I was not a big Galaxy fan but a quick look at that revamp just screamed "FAIL."
The only way the Galaxy became relevant for current STO gameplay was her transition to T6. The beautifully redone Galaxy model was also a nice addition. But even today, her T5 stats still suck compared to even other T5 Cruisers.

hahaha! well... to be honest, i completely anderstand your way of thinking on that subject.
being in this game from the beguining and actively participating in the " what is your beef with the galaxy" and " needed upgrade to galaxy class" threads, i can not denied that your reaction make sense.
even if i don't bielieve that could happened, it will not totally surprised me if it daes..
Likewise. I haven't purchased any Zen for it yet and will reserve judgement on it until the stats are released.
Simply saying that there are numerous people, some of whom at least said that they purchased the zen specifically to buy this ship, who are getting hyped up about something that, at the time of this post, we know very little about.
Again, you would think that people might have learned to wait for the stats before getting hyped up, considering the farce surrounding the Hestia two weeks ago.
Maybe they are just playing with the thought. I have 3800 zen on my account ready just in case a T6 Nebula comes around and I pretty much don't care about the stats as long as it's an upgrade over the T5 one maybe with a LTC Uni and Intel but I really don't care. I want the exterior update and I want that ship

I hope they update the Nebula Model for you if/when they re-release it. They didn't bother with the older Excelsior models before releasing the Resolute so you've got a 50/50 shot I guess.

My thought exactly. Personally, I only buy Zen right before I make a purchase, I'm not the type to keep Zen on my account waiting for something to spend it on.
It's just too few and far between that anything comes out that I want to buy. I think the last release that interested me was the Pilot Escorts.
As long as they don't make the T6 Galaxy X stats totally weak, the ship should sell. Still, one thing I have learned in my years of STO is to temper my expectations. What I want in this game rarely matches what is offered.

Looking what they did for the Dreadnaught Cruiser, I am actually hoping they will give her a Galaxy-style revamp (skins already there, basically), a Venture-type version AND the T6 Andromeda-Version. Yes, I am rather optimistic about that since the Monarchized Dreadnaught came out of the blue and the Negh'Var got a lot of free improvements as well. It'd be logical to upgrade the Nebula, the third ship in the "galaxy family" to equal status, using hte Galaxy, Monarch (Magellan) and Ventura and finally Andromeda skins.

Iconic ships (including Prometheus) don't need stellar stats to sell well. That's why I'm afraid of the new Defiant. But TRIBBLE or not TRIBBLE I will buy it nevertheless.
Defiant is doomed, it will have to compete with the excellent (OP) pilot escort stats and perks. I'm really curious what kind of powercreep will come with the ship to make it more appealing.

The biggest plus for the defiant will without doubt be the visuals. Boff layout will be difficult since the phantom and pilot ships have strong intel and pilot seating thereby making it difficult to get something unique for a T6 Defiant.

The current defiant's boff layout is pretty bad and I'm thinking that the t6 version won't be very good either. That is if cryptic stays the course with it's T6 offerings of older T5 ships. The Hestia and Resolute both were left with gimped boff layouts. However, the Andromeda's was significantly improved... so who knows. Maybe defiant fans will get thrown a bone.
Exactly, the original layout of Galaxy was so underwhelming, that it wasn't that hard to improve it greatly.

Back going back to the Yamato, I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst.
Stats should be revealed later today and I'm sure everyone is looking forward to that.

To be fair, where the Andromedia is concerned, that was hardly difficult ;-)
Ha ha - true enough. The T5 Galaxy had arguably the worst boff layout in the game.
As for the Yamato I'm wagering that the Lt tac seat becomes LtCmd. Alternatively, perhaps that Ensign Universal might be made into an Lt Universal for added flexibility. Those are my two best guesses.
the pattern with T6 upgrades seems to be take the T5 boff seats and give one of them a promotion. then just lift the T5U con layout for the T6. That being said I expect the T6 Gal X to have the same boff layout as the Andromeda with a con layout of 5/2/3 with the fleet version getting an extra tac con
unless there is some form of set bonus i see no reason to use the gal x con over a plasmonic leech
But not many people can afford a new one these days. For these people Cryptic introduces lots and lots of alternatives without pissing off those who own/acquired the leeches. It's all an effort to stabilize the status quo, I think.

If the con can only be used on the ships in this set I see no reason why the con cant be as good as the leech. Even if the con was as good as the leech the leech would still be better by default because it isnt restricted to specific ships
Leech would also probably be better since it isn't going to be locked to a CD as well, if this console has one (rather than being a passive).
If it was a passive i would use the new con. As is im favoring the leech. I know the leech cant stack with other similar effects but just out of curiosity if both these cons were slotted what would happen? Does the more efficient con take priority?
So far, every T6 ship re-release kept the same console slots and weapon arrangement as their T5-U equivalents. That should be enough to let people forget about 5 front weps or 5 tac consoles.
Now the Lt.Comm. Tac is a possibility.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

Yes, but people like to stray from that, either because they don't see the pattern or they just want to embrace in wishful thinking
To be fair though, the LTC Tac on the Andromeda came completely out of nowhere. It should have gotten a LTC Sci and the Dreadnaught could now get a LTC Tac which would make more sense.

Actually, I feel it kinda makes sense? The Galaxy class was refit during the Dominion War, mostly to give it more weapons.
The Lt.Cdr Tac seat could be a reflection of that.
