Kevin Bacon. Everything goes back to Kevin Bacon.

NOTE: IIRC Gates was pregnant for the second season. She was given the most prominent female role in the show. She replaced Bones.

That would be true if the universe had 5 lights, but it doesn't, it only has 4 lights.
Well excuse me for having enormous flaws that I don't work on.

I just read something about this recently, and that Gates had a disagreement with one of the writers about the scripts being too sexist, which led to her being canned. But through fan pressure and a campaign led by Pat Stewart, she was re-instated for season 3.

Not to go off topic, but there were also strong rumours that Gates was being sexually harassed by one of the directors, and given Maurice's reputation people put 2 and 2 together, especially as he was canned by the time of her return.

But Patrick Stewart, he's a classy guy... well at least until the movies when he started wanting Picard to have weird romances and be Mad Max... in the movie where the guy playing his younger self eventually became Mad Max.

    Timey wimey is real!

How did a group of science nerds and a hot blonde end up responsible for everything? Then again, Wil Wright shows up on that show, so that might explain everything in a whole looping kind of thing.

I think you're all missing a step and looking too far for your answers.

The blame isn't on the Romulans for attacking that Klingon colony, the blame is on whoever created that TIME PORTAL.

The list of suspects is pretty slim, but remember we've already had one vastly alien, non-corporeal extradimensional being express interest and respect for Picard, it's entirely possible he engineered the alternate timeline just to see how Picard would change in it- yes I lay the blame for all of this solely on the Nagilum.

Wasn't it the Tholians? At least, as far as STO is concerned.

Which wouldn't have happened if Rachel Garrett hadn't let her ship get sucked into a temporal portal. ;)

And that wouldn't have happened if the Romulans hadn't attacked Khitomer...though admittedly removing that attack possibly costs the peace with the Klingons. But who knows, maybe there could've been another way for the Feds to demonstrate their good faith to the Klingons if the attack never happened at all.

I hear the sound of minds being blown. ;)

You forgot that if a Romulan had not had taken pity on the survivors and some s*xytime with Yar...
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

The culprit was obviously Deanna Troi. We all know that Deanna destroyed the Galbatross class Enterprise as soon as she managed to manipulate circumstances so that she was at the helm. (Thanks, Deanna. You did the entire universe a great favor by eliminating that eye sore!) Obviously, her disdain for the satan spawn know as Romulans motivated her to find a way to create a magical non-supernova explosion of a star that created a magical violates-all-known-laws-of-physics abracadabra energy wave that destroyed the Den of Pure Ebil formerly known as Romulus. She was so good at it, she has now managed to frame that incompetent boob Picard for the deed.

    Way to go, Troi!

Actually, Picard could have ordered Yar to stay, thereby ensuring the maintenance of the Temporal Prime Directive. For all we know, Shooter McGavin was to command the 1701-C, and "replacing" Garrett with Yar was an outright mistake.

    This is fun!

In related news, here is recently declassified historical surveillance from the remains of the Romulan Imperial Archives. It depicts Lt. Castillo on the bridge of the Enterprise-C, moments before her destruction...

But, but, but it was the Romulans attacking the Enterprise-C that caused the Temporal Anomoly that caused the Enterprise-C to alter time! Which let Yar go back in time to birth Sela!

No. Nope. Never. Nunca. I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Sela is an adult and only she's responsible for her actions.

And TBH we had countless opportunity in this game to kill off Sela. Yet we didn't do it.
