Unless my missions text tells me to go there, I won't. DS9 is much lighter and cleaner.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

There's multiple ones on Ganalda, too. My KDF alts are not amused & will be acquiring nullifiers soon. I'm not amused with the FPS drop thanks to them, either. When the bugs drag down performance, it's an issue.
Why these stupid eyesores can't be limited to activation only on Risa, in clubs & on the dance floors of fleet bases is beyond me, they serve zero purpose in the game outside those areas. In the meantime, nullifiers FTW.
Actually if you have one of the Risian doffs active you give a 5m combat buff (called 'Emergency Power to Party') to anyone who dances under your discoball, so they do have a use outside of Risa/club areas.
People with nullifiers complaining about the disco balls and getting insulted upon for having a stick up their butts. This is a glorious week for the rest of us that are just having a blast and enjoying the never ending party.

Fine. Enjoy your never ending party while it lasts. I'd prefer to not trade an FPS drop for mere kicks, it's not worth it.
Consider my point of view as someone with a stash of the party balls myself. I find them ultimately useless (buff or no buff) and don't pop them in public places. I will use them in my fleet's bar/dance area, with my nullifier active, just for music ambiance. Otherwise, it's not fair to impose on others, especially right now when there's a clear FPS issue with them for some players.

As I said I don't care if people want to use them, I have a nullifier for a reason, but that gives people no right to harass and insult people. I don't insult people for using them, don't insult me for using a nullfiier.

All my characters have a Nullifier. 'Don't leave home without it' . You know there is one active in the main mining area of Vlugta near the rear. I would assume that without a nullifier these knuckleheads would be scr*wing up those attempting to mine Dilithium near the bloody thing.

The disco ball dance effect never had the ability to interrupt actions, so even without a nullifier nothing would happen. Characters only dance when idle. You can still get mad about things that will never happen if you want, but your post required some fact-checking.
It's the lag that's the problem. For some players enough party balls will cause game lag or client-side rendering sluggishness, to the point that it's not possible for them to get a decent score in the mining mini-game.

I'm pretty sure one can get around that by zooming into their character all the way so camera is inside themselves, and then look straight down into the ground so the balls aren't in view and should be no sluggishness then. I do the same thing in busy public areas when I want more responsiveness from any UI I'll be working with for a while like exchange.
Have those of you experiencing so called fps-drops tried playing the game on an actual computer instead of your phone? I have PC hardware that's five years old and I don't experience any problems with discoballs.
But you know what? I guess it doesn't matter now does it? By being allowed to visit their studios Cryptic has pretty much signed off on you and your fleet haven't they? They've said in deed what most of us have suspected for years. They're not going to stop you. They're not going to correct you. You won. After long last, you really, really won. STO is yours and no one is going to do a thing about it. Congratulations.
Hence, the use of the terms 'I assume'. Sorry but I am not going to do a field trip for 'fact-checking' during a mining claim run. Besides which Borticus stated you're not even supposed to be able to use them on that map. So there is no telling what the effect can be.
Well if I had known that my using a nullifier would make people sad, I would have never gotten one. I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight given my transgression. Oh, the humanity!!!
Perhaps Kim Jong Un and his cyber patrol are behind all of this to reduce his tension and just because he is a 'wild and crazy guy'.
Well anyway, the results of the survey are in and four out of five Dentists agree that Party Amplifiers are the greatest thing since sliced bread. In breaking news, five out of five non-Dentists agree that they would rather eat bread.

Not everyone that possesses a nullifier actually hates disco balls, I for one can actually have both :P, cause maybe I just like to choose my specific dance or pose while using one, done it before many times.

The player next to me wearing an environmental suit was a nice touch. But it's too late for me, I am infected with disco.
