You'll get no argument from me, I merely suggested a way something similar could be implemented. I'm content with virtually any form of T6 Sovi, I have my T6 Excel.
You're asking for a lot there. All 3 specializations AND a Cloak despite no canon example of the Sovereign-class being outfitted with one? Think about what you're saying.
The idea of a cloak isn't totally unreasonable at this point in the storyline, most new ships have one and the resistance will need large amounts of firepower and the ability to hide it, the Sovereign seems to me the perfect candidate. Hey, it need not be a cloak, it could just be a temporal projection device of some sort with a side effect that it extends boff skill cooldowns while active, countered by high sensors skill and reduces resistance to chroniton effects while active.
As for specs, no, you can't have all three.
I wasn't thinking that Sovereign should have all 3 specifications in one, but a 3 different builds with the available specializations. As for the cloak, I'm just going to say that it could be virtually installed on any kind of starship and by now it should be available to any ship in game, and not just the chosen ones. And that should be especially possible for intelligence ships no matter if they are escorts, cruisers or science ships.

3 builds ... like the Command BC's and Pilot escorts? Hmm, interesting idea. Yet, I think that split should be reserved for those ships versus remakes of older ships. Besides, they would have to make new skins for each career that can be mixed and matched. If a T6 is to be made, more ship graphics would slow that progress.
Give the T6 Assault cruiser the Resolute attention and all should be well.

Actually no, I was thinking that Sovereign should have 3 different builds (1 command, 1 intelligence and 1 pilot build). And there would be fleet version of each of them too. Besides that, I came up with the name for new T6 Sovereign version - Supremacy class

Yeah, that could definitely be an indicator for a T6 Sovereign most probable specialization. I would like that, but I'll have no trouble with intelligence specialization either (especially if we get cloak)

Gives me an idea for the T6 console. Make it that joystick from Insurrection, enabling pilot maneuvers on the ship while equipped. (Alternatively, as a click power that lets you do pilot maneuvers for a set amount of time.)
After playing with some of the tier 6 cruisers even the ones i find ugly Arbiter/Avenger i jumped my Fed Eng back into a Sovereign just to fly a different ship as i like to do with my 15 characters. After a few runs with the Sovereign (Nothing wrong with her performance stats wise) i moved on to a diff cruiser as the ships skin looked dated, low res and the ship model itself compared to screenshots i've seen of the Sovereign just seems off.
The ship is screaming for an update if not tier 6 status, the skin/model itself needs redoing and i hope when it does get done they do as great a job on this ship as they did on the Galaxy and Akira models

A visual update was one of the things I requested in the initial post. Most especially to achieve the canon appearances, which are exemplified in First Contact with the gleaming white with black trim, to the Nemesis grey-blue with a very, very sophisticated aztec pattern.
But the Sovereign model isn't the only one that looks very dated. ALL the old ship models do between the KDF & Feds. Most especially so for the original ships, which the Sovereign very much was.
In a perfect world I'd hope to see all the ships, ship variants with the same attention to detail the newer models have, especially canon examples like the Galaxy which was beautifully done.
Ok, so I have an idea for special console Sovereign class should have:
Universal Console: Corbomite reflector - activates torpedo reflecting shields which last for about 1 minute and can be used again after 5 minutes of cooldown. Idea is from Armada 2 of course, but it could work nicely in STO too

I do like that idea of the T6 with all 3 specs avalible but then I think its layout should be so it wouldn't be overpowering and have its Spec station be limited to Lt level powers
Cmdr Eng, Lt Cmdr Tac, Lt Sci/Pilot, Lt Tac/Cmd, and Lt Uni/Intel
Still was disappointing that T6 Excelisor didn't get Pilot so we can Fly Her Apart, but just how it goes and as it stand right now my fave ship designs are the Excelsior and Sovereign, but I'm such a lover of the classics I went more towards the classic Excelsior
My Idea is that the T6 sov. should be like the "Odyssey" Bundle, 3 ships, fleet specs, each one with a full specialization ability. The intel with all inter perks, the command, with all command perks, and the piloting with all piloting perks! The consoles should be a set itself ( cutting of the T5 one ) each one based of the ship specialization! ( As the Trait should be! ). And for the seats, each one should have 1 specialization seat, according with each ship U're flying!
For consoles, my sugestion would be:
Intel:
4 Eng.
4 Sci.
3 Tac.
if they do id like them to do what they did with Voyager and update the sov bridges as they are horrid at the moment.
Also i would defiantly have a hard time deciding weather to ditch my command cruiser for it to as the sov is my favorite.
As for weather they did a faction bundle i can say the Vorcha could be counted but im not sure which Rommie ship would join it.
"It appears we have lost our sex appeal, captain."- Tuvok
T6 Sovereign, yes please with the full Enterprise-E interiors from First Contact all the way to Nemesis along with the skins from those movies.
Flying the T5-U Regent atm and it's still a fun ship
The T6 Version could be named the Praetorian class
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Ha'apax/Haakona probably. It is slightly newer than the other two, but it is in the the same generation of ships, per say.
T6 Sovereign (pilot spec), make it so ! I wouldn't even care if it has same layout (command -> pilot) like that T6 excelsior.
"Cryptic Studio’s Jack Emmert (2010): Microtransactions are the biggest bunch of nonsense. I like paying one fee and not worrying about it – like my cellphone. The world’s biggest MMO isn’t item based, even though the black market item GDP is bigger than Russia … microtransactions make me want to die.”
As much as I love the Sovereign, I really do not want to see a 3-pack offer. Mainly because some people are just tired of $100 ship packs. Not to mention that it would start a caveat of people wanting different spec versions of their ships. So unless Cryptic is going to suprise us with a new specialization with Season 11 (Explorer?) the Sovereign most likely would be a Command Cruiser, to go with Picard leading the way in First Contact. (Nemesis included?).
As for a possible 3-Sov Set. I could see the T6 Sovereign (Independence-class?) being similar to the T6 Intrepid with the Yacht acting like the Aeroshuttle. And the Third Set power being the Anti-Cloak Search Pattern (the one Worf used in Nemesis to find the Scimitar). So it would be a combo power of FAW plus the Armitage's 360 Torpedo attack (which is mainly intended for Anti-cloak searches, but useful in normal combat when surrounded.
I want the ship, but I would not be hasty with it. I do not think that a satisfying layout for the ship is possible with the currently available tools. Intel cruisers are fairly played out, command would be almost as bad as being slapped in the face, and there is every indication currently that pilot is intended to remain escort-only. One must assume that more specializations will be made, possibly one in s11. The new sovereign would be better spent as a cruiser of this hypothetical new specialization than with any likely configuration that could be made with what we have now, when considering the need to be unique among existing ships.
I think some people are obviously reaching for the moon here. I think the sovie is going to end up being:
lt.com tac
lt. tac
com eng
lt. eng
lt. sci.
It's close enough to the current t5/U to be most probable. The sci might end up universal just because that would be super unhelpful. One of the lt's or the lt.com tac would likely end up hybrid. It will need this tac configuration to make it "more tac heavy than the galaxy class." but can't exceed it without stepping out of cruiser territory.
The consoles will almost certainly end up with:
5 engineering
2 science
4 tactical
The only t6 cruiser breaking the 5 engineering console "rule" is the command cruiser which is part of a 3pack, the sovie will very probably not end up an alternate skin to a 3pack, so plan for 5 engineering either at base or fleet level. 4 tac to maintain that "more tactical than the galaxy" theme and 2 science to fill out the rest.
No hangar, the devs seem to slap a hangar on anything and everything now but usually that's an original ship, a ship that had/planned to have a flight deck from canon sources, or something that *could* have had a flight deck like the gal-x, so let's just slap one on for good measure. The devs also release heaps of ships without them and I doubt they want to turn the sov into a flight deck cruiser.
There have been several good console suggestions, a "blind fire barrage" for searching for cloaks or a "superfluous joystick" that grants improved maneuverability, although such a thing could also end up a starship trait of some form like blind fire barrage gives fire at will a chance per shot to reveal a nearby cloaked ship, (though that would be more useful for pvp than pve to the point of being unlikely) or superfluous joystick giving enhanced maneuverability... perhaps the ship could use one for trait and the other for console.
I really hope the t6 sov would come with a graphics overhaul for the bridge and the ship, and I'd rate that as highly likely given the devs bothered giving the akira such a treatment, and considering the popularity/iconicity (we shall pretend that's a word) of the sov due to it's movie staring roles.
Unfortunately, it might be a while. The devs may wish to save a sovereign re-deployment for a time when they get a member of the next generation crew to do voice over work, Admiral Riker or Data commandeering a sovereign as their flag ship for their appearance seems like something to work with. Though Admiral Riker for the introduction of the gal-x would be more appropriate given "All Good Things," and Data for the sov considering he was supposed to have taken command of the Enterprise E after Picard retired according to JJ-trek. But that would be assuming the devs have the cash/pull to get either. I am not sure if the game has established canon of what happened to the enterprise E... frankly she could have been decommissioned and then Data (or whoever) brings her back into service under a different name/registry due to the war (or whatever else is required to keep the old girl alive)
Of course the mirror Leeta could always show up in one of these ships from alternate starfleet to make the introduction. That's right, kiddies, grab your literary shoehorn and make it fit. Perhaps that's the more budget friendly way they plan to get the upcoming defiant in... but I digress, lol. </managing expectations>
P.S. Actually, taking another look at the current sov model, it's actually one of the better of the older skins in game, It could definitely do with an update, custom windows, a paint job that better mimics the Enterprise E, etc, but it's definitely head and shoulders over the old voyager skin.
The Nebula-configured Odyssey needs to be a thing.

Basically the regent, with an Lt Cmdr Eng instead of Lt Eng and an extra Eng console.
As for the special console, who knows. Beam array random firing to decloak attackers like in Nemesis? Eject warp core? Some sort of Ram buff? I like the ship's design and all, but in the movies it just got it's kicked repeatedly.
I have been waiting for a T6 version of the Sovereign class for some time now. I own a few T6 ships, but I keep going back to my Fleet T5U Assault Cruiser Refit. I haven't liked any of the new T6 cruiser designs at all, so the next ship I buy will be a T6 Sovereign ship.
I noticed the OP stated that a possible change to the BOFF layout would be to make the Lt Eng into a Lt.Cmd Eng, but I think this would make it too close or too similar to the T6 Galaxy (Exploration Cruiser) and not give the T6 Sovereign a really different build from the Galaxy. I'm really hoping we'll see a setup similar to below: [T6 Advance Assault Cruiser]
Hull Strength: 45,000 (at level 50), 52,000 (at level 60)
Shield Modifier: 1.0
Crew: 800
Weapons: 4 Front, 4 Aft
Device Slots: 4
Bridge Officer Stations:
Consoles: 4 Tactical, 5 Engineering, 2 Science
Base Turn Rate: 7
Impulse Modifier: 0.15
Bonus Power: +10 Weapons, +5 Shields, +5 Auxiliary
The BOFF layout above would be my wish, at least, for the T6 Sovereign, but likely it'll look something like this:
Bridge Officer Stations:
I would love a t6 sovereign class. The whole ship in STO needs an overhaul. I would love for them to update it to a more movie like look. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but after all the work they did to give us a Voyager interior, I really wish they would do a TNG Galaxy and Sovereign enterior. At least the main sections of the ship. The bridges are still oversized imo and engineering just doesn't look like what an engineering area should. Maybe in the future.
