No, I'm assuming it will be a modern d'kora because it's the only canon feregi ship we saw on screen besides the Naguse's shuttle and honestly, what is the likelihood of Cryptic getting cbs to approve of a new Cryptic-designed ferengi ship?

But ... yeah ... there are plenty of "Alien" - Cryptic Designs (Tal Shiar, Breen, Voth, Elachi, Xindi, Undine, Tholian, Vaadwaur etc) ... not sure why Ferengi would be "Excluded" ....
I take it from the info here that we can kiss any expectations that we might get those interiors for the Risian ships that were stated last year as 'didn't have enough time this year' goodbye?
Too bad. I don't think I was the only one hoping for the ability to relax in the rec-deck shown through the force-ports of the Luxury Cruiser.
A lot of wasted potential there, as the game needs something other than warships everywhere. Especially for my KDF Orion, who is getting tired of only having the options of red-lit battle-scarred interiors to his Risian ships.
I must say I am extremely disappointed I expected the devs to announce with this post either that they were going to make the old event ships available one last time or that there was going to be a new way to get the old Risian ships...

like the cochrane shotgun - i would like to be able to unlock it account wide and running mirror event takes forever on several alts, now that you induced us to create more alts than we can count ... it's really hard to run them al.
of course, wouldn't expect the Dilithium / marks reward without doing the events on the other alts, but the item prize account unlock would be nice
other issue ... have you thought about a "gingerbread land" version for the summer event ?
might sound lame, but there's something appealing on going to a "hidden cave" map, in the volcano and go rescue birds / bird chcicks from evil monkeys, using some sort of gun that would toss coconuts. it could also be used outside Risa, with little kinetic damage, just for fun.
i can already see it, "save the bird chicks" shooting evil monkeys with a coconut thrower gun : "pluck ! pluck ! pluck ! ... boink ! boink ! boink !"
Well perhaps after getting a Nandi I will lose all desire to save for a D'kora anymore. LOL

The first Belfast was commanded by Captain Ve'Kal Shon until its destruction in 2409. A new ship was commissioned bearing the same name and registry as special dispensation to then newly promoted Captain Edward XIII for his pivotal role during the renewed Dominion War.
Still pissed that I can't get the previous ships. So for the all the fabricated complaints about the freaking metrics & how people weren't playing like Cryptic wanted, let it be known that my "grind" within the event has gone from a minimum of 3 toons doing dailies--to 1. And Cryptic is directly responsible for that. Last winter event, I did dailies on 3 toons--religiously--so I could get all 3 ships. Since Cryptic has decided to arbitrarily pull the rug out from under those who weren't fortunate enough to have already slated projects...my interest has attenuated to "tepid at best".
Don't be at all surprised if the number of players for this event is far below what Cryptic hopes for. There will be a reason for that. And 3 weeks in, don't be surprised if Risa is a ghost-town.

considering the iconian war, guess the ferengi need to offload their starships to willing captains. perhaps now too many captains and not enough ships :P.
as for the event itself, just under 2 weeks, i would of thought it would run all month and a bit like last time. depends now how many pearls are needed for the ferengi ship, because if it can be be done within a few runs, then ofcourse i will go get it, but if not.. then i will stay on swtor.

Five weeks in the initial announcement, June 4th through July 9th. Now six weeks, just like last year, per Trendy's clarification.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
Some people seem to forget that the Ferengi are not all businessmen or traders (just like Klingons aren't all warriors, Romulans aren't all spies etc). The Ferengi allience is still a space faring civilization that needs to protect itself and it's space. So it does make sense that there are Ferengi warships. Why you would earn that in a summer festival on Risa is beyond me, though - but those "in-lore justifications" for simple gameplay mechanics sound always phony and should just not be used at all, but meh You can safely assume that any kind of Ferengi defense force would be corrupt to the extreme, so them selling off ships and weaponry should not surprise :P

a ferengi privateer diamon back in the day would willingly attack other ships with his d'kora, be a pirate, sell the crew for slaves, take technology from the ship and sell the rest to interested parties, ship, parts, database information and so on. there is great profit to be found and as the ferengi rules state about the riskier the road the greater the profit..

As I said before, Ferengi are still a space faring civilization and they couldn't survive if there nothing other than traders. There has to be a whole functioning Ferengi civilization including some form of defense force with appropriate ships, otherwise they couldn't exist (same reason why there can't be just warrior Klingons or spy Romulans).
However I agree, getting that ship on a Risian summer event is odd - then again, it's just a game. Every "lore" explanation of why you win shinies in a game always only causes a headache

Looks like I'll be skipping the event this year, too, except the 25 runs for the ship. The summer event is apparently intentionally designed to be disappointing, on a permanent basis.
Well since you will stand with your move to remove the two older ship projects i will stay with mine and will withdraw any further money investment from this game.
