So the original thread on login issues and disconnects (wait, not original, that would be ancient history, but the one from April) that was semi converted to a lag issue thread and then abandoned by the OP, has been closed by a moderator, without any further information on...anything?
Was the disconnect issue rolled into the lag issue and sure they're related and sure it's being addressed or not?
Now we have a new shiny thread for the issues of 5-26. Cause last month is so, you know, lasts month.
I don't see that answering those questions will be the straw that breaks the customer service back.
It would have been nice to get advanced warning. Also, this could not wait until regular maintenance on Thursday?
The very nature of an "emergency shutdown" implies heavily that they didn't plan it. Do you seriously believe that shutting off the servers for an emergency is something that they even CAN plan in advance?
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
*resets solitare game and deals himself his 12th hand* oh the good old days when we had only ourselves to blame for the hardware not working right...anyone remember blowing into their nintendo consoles for hours on end just to get in all of 10 minutes of time with super mario?

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's a really teeny back.
That thread started to get muddied with todays ObjectDb issue - to ensure it remains on topic I closed it. As nobody can login allowing people to continue to post to that thread with todays shutshown would only devalue it. Threads can be reopened later.
While they're at it... here's what I would like to see fixed:
-For the Exchange to refresh consistently after I purchase an item.
-For the Exchange sub-category to not move to Deflector after I purchase a Ship Weapon
-For the Exchange category to not move around while DOff'ing.
-For Schimtar to not CTD when using Assimilated Impulse visual effects.
-Not getting stuck in the star when exiting a system.
It's just this simple; Cryptic needs to stop (or at least take a break from) hiring shiny new voice talents and start putting some of it's allegedly massive profits into getting the game back into fighting shape; starting with bigger, more advanced severs.

I agree 100%, I mean come on the last big news was the return of Nog? Was there anyone who was truly excited for this besides Aron Eisenberg?
It's a bit funny. Last night Switzerland had time outs of the login server / account server, and now the whole server is timing out for everyone. I still don't think Swisscom was in error last time, especially now because everyone can't log in anymore. This is happening a bit too often lately, also the lag hasn't really decreased. Sad to see it, I hope it's getting better soon.

I think they only way they will ever do that is if they stop adding, and tone down on the Traits and Spec procs that are causing most of the instability issues in the first place.

I'm sure we can find a happy middle ground, where former Star Trek cast members find gainful employment in the exciting field of server maintenance. Marina Sirtis' rent isn't going to pay itself.

This has nothing to do with those previous issues, this is about the fact that tonight a couple of hours ago the servers died completely, those previous issues weren't stopping every single player from playing just a portion, this is an emergency situation that is way more serious.

Well, clarification being that the server didn't die completely. We just were seeing some errors popping up on the ObjectDB and we needed to take that down in order to ensure that no bigger issues come up.

They do !!! It has been pointed out by us, users of the game, that with each major update, the servers became more and more unstable. It has been asked by us to do something about those issues, whether it's getting new servers or even changing from provider/congent. No matter what and how much work it would bring along, the situation as it is now can't go on anylonger.
OK, if I have to stay here for a while, your cieling ... looks idious.:D

HAH!!!!! Now that's comedy
The estimated 2 hours was not from when problems first happened - the estimated time that the servers are due up is still an hour away at 2pm PT

10. Hamster's, still on last years calendar, thought today was a holiday.
9. Somebody repeated the word "Gecko" 3 times
8. Network administrators Jenga tower collapses injuring 3 and disabling the servers.
7. Even the servers are tired of the grinding
6. In a freak occurrance, all the random discoonnects occur simultaneously.
5. Server stuck in PVP queue
4. Server was bought with Zen BEFORE probation ended and is now bound to character.
3. Player spent Lobi on Dyson Science Destroyer, server died laughing.
2. Server went looking for Sulu
And the #1 reason the server is down..
1. Iconians... The pixelated kind.
:P

You mean This kind? lol
Okay, I laughed way harder at this than I should have >.>
I know right? That guy's typos are atrocious... like going back and fixing it is going to fool anyone!
