While this map isn't entirely Canon http://i.imgur.com/mFA1hyb.jpg
Cait ( field H16 ) seems to be located kinda far south from the sector space we got available.
Edit: Pasta is alright.
"Please, Captain, not in front of the Klingons." Spock to Kirk, as Kirk is about to hug him.
Star Trek V: "The Final Frontier"
The whole "are Caitians canon" thing is a red herring, guys. They actually are canon.
They are also a very minor part of Star Trek.
Fuzzy cat aliens are hardly outside the realm of sci-fi, but the sheer furor over them is slightly quizzical, especially when, as said, their homeworld is not actually in the area of space mapped by the game.
The planets that have been moved out of their expected places generally had mission content already tied to them before the revamp. Cait does not. There's simply no reason to move it. And if they do, shall we also move in Tiburon? Aaamazzara? Medusa? S'sgarnon/Gornar? Nausicaa? Where does it end?

If the Catians left Ferasa, and Ferasa is the home world, where is Ferasa?
Oh right, Ferasans are not Cannon.
I purchased Catians just to unlock the few extra bits in the Tailor for my Ferasans, of which I have 3.
But I will say it again, I think any species on that list with greater than 2% share ought to be the priority, if they cater to any player demand for other homeworlds, primarily the Gorn home world, especially as a conquested Klingon territory.
Would be a great place for some foundry authors to expand upon the help Gorn sepretists doffing missions, with actual content.

... and I am very satisfied that there won't be a furry funzone on STO.
Again with the insults...
What is it with you people, don't hear you insulting scaly players or pointy eared space squeakies, or those stooping owners of grubby dive bars, or baldies, or green skinned space trolllops, or wrinkle noses with one earing...
Why do so many of you object to Caitians existing at all or there being more than 1 in any location?
It's just a damn game, people paid to use "superior" species, like Caitians, Joined Trill and Reman etc... Deal with it.

I've accepted they're in the game, but this thread is about Caitians getting a planet when there are countless other things the Devs should be focusing on. You paid for your cat, wonderful, but that doesn't mean there are enough of you (or that you are important enough) for a whole zone to be specially made and included.
Actually thus far the only thing really asked for seems to be for the solar system to be located on the sector space maps. That would be enough for me, as then foundry missions could be off it.
The Caitians became frightened in the late 20th century by the Melmacian invasion from Andromeda. While many Caitians are serving in Starfleet, the location of their homeworld is kept secret in order to prevent genocide from the Melmacians. I assume the same to be true of the Ferasans.

It's not just a single trollboy, there seems to be a whole cadre dedicated to driving non-head-pastie chars out of the game...
Best revenge... Take a homeworld... Occupy by force, if/when the game works again...
So, whose world should the cats occupy?

While I agree this would be cool, if they do it, they will also need to locate a homeworld door for every playable species.
What some people may *want* is a completely different thing from what they "need" to do. So no, even if they did add the Catian homeworld, that does not mean they "need" to do the same thing for every species.
Homeworld? I'd settle for some decent hair styles.
I find it amusing that if I buy a caitian boff from the c-store, they arrive with hairstyles that I cant use because I dont own them...

I like that Tacofangs answered your question on page 2 of this thread and it's gone on for another 12 pages.
Nobody is trying to force Caitians off the game. You got your Caitians and your Kzinti. Isn't that enough? Why do you need to have a cat planet, too, especially given that there's a significant to massive Caitian diaspora?
Why does everything have to be about special treatment for catgirls?

Last I recall, catgirls was something stupid from anime. This is about a Trek species.
Last I recall, catgirls was something stupid from anime. This is about a Trek species.
And M'ress is something stupid from a cartoon. Ta-da. Catgirls in Star Trek.
There are two groups when it comes to Caitians: The vast majority of players who are indifferent to them, and the narrow fringe group that thinks they're THE BEST thing in Star Trek. Honestly, for all the furor over them, you'd think they were more important than Kirk.
Cryptic makes money off you guys playing catgirls. Good for them. Why do you now deserve special treatment?

Why do you care if people are discussing a species they like to play? Also, I recall there are males in this species as well, not just these "catgirls."
If you do not care about the subject, then why bother continuing to comment?

FIVE groups...
The indifferent majority
The people who just want to play their selected non-human species
The hardcore catgirl fans
The noisy forum troll catgirl haters
And people who purchased a c-store player racebecause it comes with bonus abilities that they decided were better for them than the bonus abilities on OTHER c-store player races...
Personally I don't care if theres a foundry door star on the map or not, but claiming it's "special treatment" to ask for something many other playable races ALREADY have, is frankly a ridiculous statement

Because I'm fundamentally opposed to any time being put in to cater to narrow fringe groups as opposed to things that improve STO for everyone.

These arguments are normal anytime you mention a caitian or ferasan. Welcome to STO .

Heh, these sort of arguments were common back in the Deep South since after the Civil War...
