No. There are multiple problems causing similar symptoms. Whichever co!bination was affecting you has stopped. Cogent are still a$$h@ts, complex powers are still causing the server hampsters to choke, other people's isps have bad routes to the servers, crowds still log in in spikes not evenly spread out, cryptic database is Still an abomination... God only knows what is up with the hardware...
Well , I'm sure our beloved EP will address the issue one of these days ... .

... no rush ...
Pretty sure if this was run by any other company this issue would have been addressed within the first 48 hours - 3 days max. As it stands its been going on since at least the anniversary event.
Exactly that. No rush, perfect world. With each passing day of complacency, inaction and indecisiveness the less inclined some of us will return to play this RIDICULOUSLY maintained game.

I too am having issues logging in. It keeps on saying there is an error, and it needs looking at. Plus, when I try to log in to my character, it says there is an error. Is this the issue you're talking about?
Ok, this is getting ridiculous, its been a week since I was able to enter the game. I'm still having the same cryptic launcher auto update error. I've tried re-installing steam, arc and the game itself several times, nothing works. Always gets to 23 tries and then the error notice pops up. Does anyone know if there is a fix that works?

So have I, and quite plainly I've been playing other games instead. I may give them a bit more time to say or do something, but if I check back here and nothing has been happening I'll spend my sub dollars elsewhere. Why should I pay for a game that I can't even log in to and the devs don't even respond to problems?
There are three large issues that are impacting performance right now, and they're all under investigation.
We're having some odd network issues, not including DDOS attacks, and you may have seen trendy collecting traces along with other information from players. This data is being passed off to our network engineers who are working to solve this issue.
A bug that caused major FPS issues went live with Season 10 and wasn't discovered until Friday. We have a fix that's already on tribble and will go live this week.
We did some profiling on our heavier maps and discovered that some player powers are incredibly expensive on our gameservers. It will take some time to identify them all and rebuild them in a way where they are functionally identical to you, but far less expensive for the gameservers. This is a change that will take time but will trickle out as we identify the offending powers and make fixes.
This is a pretty big deal to us and we have a fair amount of people across a wide array of disciplines working to get this resolved. I apologize for the inconvenience and my delay in posting something about it. Nothing nefarious about the delay, it's simply a busy time over here post release.

And like you said trendy has been all over this and just wish people would calm down a bit as it's been aknowledged and not just left so we know it's being looked at and fingers crossed fixed soon.

Hi Steve, thanks for popping in here.
By any chance have you guys looked at the Zaria map? That one is being reported right now and I am not sure but I think the cryo-grenade and camera shake combo may be lethal...

And that explains why that video with the run of ISA with no boff abilities went almost without lag while a PvP match yesterday where every type of cheese power and weapon was used caused the match to freeze a couple of times..
the other issue is some maps ( Deferi ) not working at all due to client crashing to desktop . That somehow managed to escape attention though . It sure isn't in the " known issues " list anymore .
I still get client crashing to desktop ( these days ,switching characters automatically seems to trigger a CTD ) quite frequently - as do many others - and there isn't even an ETA on a fix . But then again : regardless of how many forum threads are open on this bug on a daily basis , there isn't acknowledgment there even is a problem .

Salami, thanks for posting this info.
I haven't logged into STO since a couple nights before S10 was released. I just got sick of the bad/laggy game play during "normal time", I knew that the added stress caused by all the people swarming in for a new season would really bog things down further, and I lost interest in dealing with that.
So, I haven't played STO in >1wk. Can't bring myself to do it ESPECIALLY after seeing additional posts about FPS issues, continued lag/no connects, etc. But I see that fix is on Tribble, for the FPS, and you guys are working on the networking and power issues.
I missed the Zen/Key sale you guys recently had, too, since I wasn't logging on. Oh well, no $$$ for you this time. That'll teach ya, right? Yeah, right. Maybe next time.
Anyway, maybe I'll feel like logging on sooner, but I dunno. Otherwise I'll keep watching the Dev Tracker waiting for those fixes to go live. Keep the communication coming, please.
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.

I assume its also linked to the wide spread addition of area of effect - powers. Even Octrees arent really that efficient to be used often, maybe save the last results for a longer time if your not already doing that

You should also check most of your T6 ship traits... as many ppl in channels have serious indications that they make way more lag then the new abiliteis like Kemocite with TS3 (mostly because of the big animation) and the sci resonant something ability
as of this morning, I cannot start the launcher, it's stuck on autoupdate, goes on till 23 attempts... I really hope it won't go into dilithium weekend...

Salami,
Could some of this have been detected prior to release more effectively with more players Tribbletesting it? I remember the earlier days when we had he tribble test reward times to help beta the changes, and those seemed to be much smoother seasons than the last two or so. I havent even seen announcements regarding testing for Season releases lately. If we can help by beta-ing the changes, I know myself and some others would help, but we havent notice for the call for help.

Hi,
Thank you so much for finally communicating something. It has been nearly 3 months since this has become a major problem and frankly the lack of communication from you and your team added to the toxic vitriol that was being expressed in-game, sto forums and social media. I understand that diagnosis takes time but failing to even acknowledging the player concerns and having sto crew on podcasts jovially saying "What lag?" was extremely counter productive to Cryptic's goals and player wellbeing.
I'm not blind that the production schedule is sacred as revenue must be generated to meet fiscal objectives and this is very measurable. What isn't so measurable is how much revenue you didn't generate due to the state of the game server and the silence to the community about it. The all powerful word of mouth between players is at an all time low and being one of the most cost effective ways to generate revenue seems to be a fact that you guys have ignored.
Once again, this post is exactly what we need to see. It shows us that it is on your radar and maybe now the countless videos that have been made to demonstrate the lag, show ways around the lag or even simply beating it by getting hanger pets to do ISA will no cease.
Looking forward to putting this chapter in STOs life behind us for good.

Like others have said, a HUGE thank you for finally acknowledging the issues and not just blaming Cogent (even if they are part of the issue). However, I do have to express my disappointment that people have providing evidence of items 1 and 3 for months now and this is the first time it's actually being acknowledged. The nanite trait was fixed after like over a week of people (including myself) documenting that it was a repeatable affect. The network "oddities" received zero response.
But, again, thank you for giving us some info. My thread over in PC: Network and Troubleshooting is still there with network test using multiple proxy connections is still there and I'm certainly happy to provide any other documentation/testing that would be helpful. There's probably not many people playing STO on Enterprise level hardware so, I can try to eliminate the client side as much as possible.

Star Trek: Offline.
Lag Watch:
Delta Rising: Warning
Anniversary Event: Severe
Iconian Season: Critical
Hahahahahaha. Good one, Cryptic.
So have I, and quite plainly I've been playing other games instead. I may give them a bit more time to say or do something, but if I check back here and nothing has been happening I'll spend my sub dollars elsewhere. Why should I pay for a game that I can't even log in to and the devs don't even respond to problems?
Thank you for the update.

Thank you for letting us know, its much appreciated.
Thank you for this statement. At least now I know what's up .
Thanks for the info (:
I wonder which powers are causing the problems. Sixpence says one of them is Subspace Integration Circuit.
Then please fill out my dissertation survey on feline attachment, it'd be a massive help (-:
https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/87XKSGH
I assume its also linked to the wide spread addition of area of effect - powers. Even Octrees arent really that efficient to be used often, maybe save the last results for a longer time if your not already doing that
You should also check most of your T6 ship traits... as many ppl in channels have serious indications that they make way more lag then the new abiliteis like Kemocite with TS3 (mostly because of the big animation) and the sci resonant something ability
But nice that the info is there atleast.
Salami,
Could some of this have been detected prior to release more effectively with more players Tribbletesting it? I remember the earlier days when we had he tribble test reward times to help beta the changes, and those seemed to be much smoother seasons than the last two or so. I havent even seen announcements regarding testing for Season releases lately. If we can help by beta-ing the changes, I know myself and some others would help, but we havent notice for the call for help.
Thank you for this official statement about the problem, i hope it will be fixed soon
As someone who's been affected and has been giving you guys major flak over the recent network issues I do VERY MUCH appreciate you taking the time to post an update with regard to identifying them and what cryptic staff are doing to nail down and correct them.
PWE ARC Drone says: "Your STO forum community as you have known it is ended...Display names are irrelevant...Any further sense of community is irrelevant...Resistance is futile...You will be assimilated..."
(i know that its a problem not easily fixed, just wanna express how...i wanna play my game)
good luck on fixing it!

Hi,
Thank you so much for finally communicating something.
