I'll have it on my 5 guys when I get home from work tonight. The torpedo is really just a bonus for me, I'm really after the 750 fleet marks.

Yeah I got it this morning. I put it on a ship to see it. Looks nice with torpedo spread. However, unless you run antiproton it really doesn't do much. And if you do I'm sure it still does less than your firing at Will so...

I'm only at 10/14, since I was too busy a few days last week to do it. I don't intend to use it though, since I don't have any AP builds on any of my characters.

Still, I'll probably be able to put that dilithium to good use. :D

Got it. Went to Tribble to upgrade it. Saw the results. What did I get again? Oh yeah, a bunch of Fleet Marks and Dilithium....and...er...a box with something in it I guess.

The torpedo's visual is nice, but the weapon itself is rather underwhelming. It needs more damage, or a lower CD, or an [Arc] or [Wide Arc] mod even if it's only at UR or Epic.

Upgrading rarity gets Acc at VR and another CrtH at UR, and the standard Epic mod at Epic.

TS is a beautiful rain of red, but HY is just a volley of powered up shots much like HY photons.

Haven't tested to see if it works with Nadeon Detonator.

Still rather disappointing for 14 days worth of grinding, compared to the Cochrane Shotgun.

Had 2 shards from last year so got mine a couple days ago.
The grind for next year continues. I'm back up to 2 shards in my inventory.

I'm in the opposite boat, I was at 5/14 for the event from 2 years ago. Finally finished that one a few days ago and now I'm working toward the torpedo (think I might end up 1 short when the event ends) and I still have the one from last year slotted as well with 0 progress. Which is really out of character for me, I usually complete every event with time to spare.

Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

I've got it, fitted it in my Ap beam boat. drops my dps. removed it.

I like it, its just not got enough punch for it to be useful. It has about 25% less damage than my beams at normal damage.

Got it on 4 characters, looked at it, said it was pretty... stuck it in their banks and probably will never look at it again.

Actually that's not true... I'm going to put it on one of my characters shuttles who uses the ancient omni on it as well, put a AP booster in the tactical slot... never look at it again.

Oh man, now I want to see what a TS of it firing from a Na'Far looks like. It's got that Uni Ensign so I could do a TS1 of it...

I'm still in debate mode whether on a shuttle it's worth it or not to be honest. I goes nice with the ancient omni, and since shuttles generally only have one tactical console slot the fact that you don't have to choose between torp or ap console really helps.

But as torpedos goes it's kind of mediocre. It looks pretty... especially with TS... but I'm still debating if it's as good as say an unmodified grav torp.

Since this game emphasize dps a little too much this torp is tricky when it come to usefulness.
On the plus side this torp does full damages to shields (unlike normal kinetic torps) and costs no power to fire. However it's anti-proton damage isn't enhance by weapon power settings which is a major con.
But if you don't run with high weapon power and want some extra energy damage to knock down shields this torp might work for you.

This is odd... my torp registers strange dmg:

    125 Wpn, 69 Eng: 7602
    62 Wpn, 130 Eng: 7785
    81 Wpn, 88 Eng: 7917

Can someone please explain this to me as to why an energy wpn (even a torp) has this kind of variable dmg output? Just seems strange...

I like the visuals and it's quite red... lovely

Gonna have to wait to upgrade it though

What is your test subject, what powers did it decide to use at any given time, what specialties are you using.

Resists can make a difference if you're targetting different ship types... it may have popped brace for impact or an emergy power to shield or something just before that you didn't notice. You could be flanking it and using the Intel specialty.

So many variables without having a better idea of what and how you're testing it.

That is just a base stat damage view (not sector space)... no battle, no leech, nothing... it's just odd that there would be a higher dmg output (even base) with a mid-level Weapon power versus max weapon power. Even lowest weapon power had a higher output than max.

I realize it changes based on enemy, resists, etc, but the base comparison doesn't make any sense.

Ah I see your question... it's concidered a torpedo for weapon power purposes... in other words weapon power doesn't effect it at all... not an energy weapon... even though it is...

Basically it's a torpedo that is buffed by AP energy weapon consoles instead of torpedo consoles and is resisted by AP resists not kinetic resists... otherwise it's a classic torpedo.

Understandable, but that doesn't explain the variance in damage based on weapon or engine power, though. Based on what you said, it should remain a static output (unless I change tac consoles, etc). So there is some dynamic at work there...
