Alright, people. What's the worst movie ever, and I don't mean intentionally bad (like Sharknado 2), or so bad it's good (like "The Room"). I mean genuinely, cringe-worthy, painfully, embarrassingly bad, in a way that can only be simulated by taking a good idea, taking a dump on it, and then repeatedly hitting the mess with a hammer.
And the Star Wars Christmas Special is automatically disqualified because that's not a movie, that's a demon in the form of a film.
My vote goes for "M. Night Shaymalan's The Last Airbender" for (a) awful racism, (b) horrible special effects, (c) lazy writing, (d) bad writing, (e) genuinely awful acting, (f) epic racism, (g) blatant and atrocious sexism, (h) the earthbender prison scene which combines all of the above in one awful moment of how the hell did this get shot, much less get past post-production, and last but not least (i) taking a massive, steaming, elephantine dump upon one of the greatest if not the greatest animated series/franchises in human history.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"

My main problem with The Last Airbender is that it compressed the entire first season into 2 hours. There is no way anyone can make a good movie by doing that even if they are a genius which is not the case Shaymalan.
My vote is on 50 Shades even though I will never see it. How a book that started as a Twilight fanfiction became a mainstream movie, I will never understand.
Good idea for a Superman reboot, but it was just terrible. I never really liked Henry Cavill mostly for his poor acting. The ending hurt so much I tried to link it to Doctor Who's version of how Gallifrey and the Timelords went boom, but Superman just went "Fu*k Krypton, im burning this place" though im sure it would be worse if Micheal Bay made it (yikes!). This movie slaghtered Superman so much, so Im not looking forward to seeing the upcoming Batman/Superman movie. OH GOD!! WHY COULDNT CHRISTOPHER NOLAN HAVE MADE THAT MOVIE??!!
Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit"
Im sure we can all agree that Lord of the Rings was good. While the acting and battles were tolorable trying to turn a medium sized book into three movies is such a bad idea. Doing so brings in Legolas (I have nothing against this guy but he was useless) and one of the greatest NOTP's in fandom history. I also hated how there was so much cgi and why in hell were the dwarves riding pigs and rams?? No ponies?? Though give me a fu*king break on Galadriels new and "improved" sinister darkside look, but Hugo Weaving drawing a sword instead of taking off damaged sunglasses for a fight was cool. I am looking forward for a possible Simirillion miniseries

I think that one gets bonus points for glorifying sexual violence...
Then like me, you may be pleased to hear that Neill Blomkamp is working with Sigourney Weaver on a new Alien movie, which will totally disregard the existence of both of those films.
I second the nomination of 50 Shades of Bull****. Not only is the source material unreadable, but my wife, a former domme, assures me that E. L. James' idea of how the whole BDSM thing works is every bit as stupid and uninformed as the writing itself.

I heard about the new Alien movie from a friend. Looking forward to seeing what comes from that.

I disagree on this. Superman, in fact, wasn't saying "Burn Krypton" - that ship had already sailed. He was saving Earth, which for all practical intents and purposes was his homeworld (he wasn't even "born" yet when he left Krypton, in this interpretation). And the ending? Zod had promised, if he lived, to spend every waking moment destroying everything Clark loved, starting with the nearby group of innocent bystanders. And while an older, more experienced Clark might have found a way to defeat Zod without killing him, this one had only learned to fly a relatively short time before. This was his first time being a hero - he wasn't going to be a paragon yet.
And he tried anyway. He tried to talk Zod down, then he tried to beat Zod down, then he tried to hold Zod down. None of it worked. In the end, he followed the only path open to him.
You've all set your sights too low. (too high?) Forget modern cinema and look to the classics, my friends.
I give you: The Castle of Fu Manchu starring... wait for it... Christopher Lee as Fu Manchu.
This is the movie that drove Joel and the 'Bots on MST3k to the brink of despair. They seriously spent the last fifteen or twenty minutes of the movie sobbing and moaning "Why God? WHY have you allowed this to happen?!?"
...Oh, baby, you know, I've really got to leave you / Oh, I can hear it callin 'me / I said don't you hear it callin' me the way it used to do?...

Christopher Lee??? OMFG
But might as well say somthing: Brett Ratner's "X-Men: The Last Stand"
What a load of sh*t that was, we get X-Men and X2 but now we get somthing that should be called "X-Men: The Great Depower" as we have to sit through Xavier dying, Mystyiqe taking a bullet for Magneto, Jean Grey coming back to life (then dying), whatshername getting depowered so that she could let her boyfreind toach her, And as a grand finale: Magneto getting depowered! But ill give this movie somthing for the ending
I was surprised Wolverine still had powers at the end. YAY BRIAN SINGER AND DAYS OF FUTURE PAST!!

I'm still going to have to go with Battlefield Earth and Howling 2 as I still haven't found any movies that were as painful to watch as those two turds were.

And this is the one problem I have with Batman. The Joker is a homicidal maniac that will never stop without removing all that he is. The Joker always escapes and Batman has to deal with the fact that putting the Joker in jail only results in the deaths of more innocents. Killing the Joker is the only way to prevent more deaths. So Superman killing General Zod who is someone that will continue killing humans is justifiable solution.
The only problem I have with the movie is Clark not saving the gestation technology so he could save his race in a timely manner instead of having to wait decades for them to appear.

Ahha! I didnt care about Zod the Douchbag, I cared about the ship Zod used and the contents inside. Now Your problem with Batman is his no-kill rule, you saw Batman Begins where he just leaves Ra's Al Gul in the runaway train. Now for the Joker, I think the cops instead of arresting him shot him on sight in that tower scene. Batman can somtimes cut the corners of his no kill rule

Also... Howling 2. Even one of the actors said "The less said of that, the better."
Alien: Resurrection is definitely a bad movie. The theatrical release of Alien 3 was also bad, but I liked it more than Star Trek V.
However, upon reflection I think Aliens 3 was a bad movie due to it's editing especially after seeing the Assembly Cut of the movie which integrates some character development for some of the prisoners something that was sorely missing from the theatrical release to the point where all of the actor portraying the prisoners could simply be replaced with a cardboard cut out.
The Assembly Cut does not turn the movie into an Oscar winner, but it does make Aliens 3 more palatable. I also liked the fact that Aliens 3 attempted to shift the movie back to the horror genre. Aliens was a great movie, but I recall being disappointed that it was an action flick rather than a horror movie.
As for the worst movie I ever saw, that would be Wing Commander or the Sum of All Fears (a really, really bad adaptation of Tom's Clancy's epic novel). Probably Sum of All Fears since I still hold that novel in extremely high regards.

Yeah, I didn't quite get why Superman had to SMASH it and couldn't simply turn it off.
As for Zod, well he will kill anyone who refuses to kneel before Zod.
Especially if it's someone the son of Jor-El knows.
So I don't see killing Zod as a bad thing. Sure, it'd be better to not kill him, if possible, but that didn't happen.

It is the comics and animated series that have the Joker batman cycle.
It is the comics and animated series that have the Joker batman cycle.
Batman: Beyond took it to the most horrific extent possible. AFTER the Joker died, some gadget turned one of Batman's apprentices into a new Joker complete witht he personality of the original.
I'm probably going to get flamed for this but I'd have to say Star Trek VI.
Watch Plan 9 From Outer Space and say that again. Go on, I dare you. I double-dog dare you.
Or Manos: Hands of Fate.
Or Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
I dare any and all of you to watch any of these movies (or The Castle of Fu Manchu, or anything involving Roger Corman) and find any redeeming quality. All these other movies you guys have listed, someone can say "Well, at least X-did-Y" or "At least the fight scene at the end was good" or "at least the special effects weren't terrible" or "it actually makes sense if you watch it on psychedelic drugs."
If you're looking for truly the worst film of all time, it must have NONE of that. It has to rob you of your soul, burn it before your eyes, mix the ashes with your tears and then leave you with nothing but dark and disturbing questions that can only hope to be answered by turning to the philosophy of absurdism.

"Battlefield: Earth" gets my vote.
I've tried twice to watch it all the way to the end and haven't made it.

That one wasn't as bad as the original one that felt more like "How many of the characters can we cram into it" staring Jean-Claude Van Damme. I mean in that one they had so many you were practically tripping over them and none of there really stood out because of it. At least the Chun-Li one was more character centric. Granted Bison in that one was kinda out there, but I felt that Chun-Li was represented pretty well.

I gave it a chance. I really did. I tend to have a high tolerance for bs in movies, but they ultimately butchered the source material. Great Piccollo though. They could have done more with him.
Kung Power: Enter the Fist
Oh man. As a teen I thought it was pretty good. Then seeing it again years later...I suppose it's still worth seeing at least once.
Shrek 3. The only reason I'm including this is because I watched the part with the alternate/deleted scenes. I believe they missed an opportunity for a potentially more enjoyable movie.
I'm told that The Expendables is rather bad and the Judge Dread remake is sickening to watch, so I'm kind of wondering if these made anyone's list?
