In the same way pre-DR there is an ISA(S9) list but the channel invites run off the post DR ISA list. I think the current ISA list should be archived and a new ISA (post 02/26) list started.
After the patch archive the older stats and all new parses go into a new list. 2 weeks after the patch reset all channel invites based off the new list (this gives people the chances to get their runs done and registered before they find themselves getting kicked from channels).
We may need to readjust the tiers (currently 10k, 30k, 50k, 75k, prime) if the changes make a huge difference to the split of population.
Do you want to recognize the people currently in the channel for their knowledge of the game and their skill, or do you want to reconize them for the meta-builds they were willing to use to be parsed well enough top be included on the channel's roster.
Unless the math doesent allow it because the 'nerf' resets the values that the channel was based on, I see no reason to change anything or move anyone.

This is what has happened. The recent power creep was so excessive that they re-structured the requirements and removed some channels entirely, moving all requirements upwards. Now with the changes they might have to revisit those changes and restore certain channels.
It doesn't really concern me as I tend to go out of my way to avoid ladder systems like this(way too much ego and drama-mongering for my tastes), but this does sound like something that needs a wipe.. and will probably need future wipes as the game mechanics are further tuned.
Perhaps it could be restructured to a Quarterly/Seasonal thing where the "rankings" are reset in a predictable cycle?
that's for 1 proc though. I'm talking about more procs over the whole event. Yes it's obvious that each single proc is nerfed but over the whole event you get more dice to roll. I may be wrong, but isn't that better?
hmmm well if that's the case, then it will be better. I guess we'll all have to go test on tribble when the changes get there.
Ugh, I had a whole thing typed up because I thought it worked like jarvisandalfred said, but then read VD's and took his word for it.
"Better" or "worse" is really subjective.
Let's say 1 console has a 25% chance of 500.
If 2 consoles means a 25% chance of 1000, that means in the long run we expect an average of: (75% * 0) + (25% * 1000) = 250.
If 2 consoles means a 25% chance of 500 and an independent 25% chance of 500, that means:
25% * 25% = 6.25% chance they both fire, giving us 1000 damage;
75% * 75% = 56.25% chance neither fire, giving us 0 damage;
100% - 6.25% - 56.25% = 37.5% only one fires, giving us 500 damage.
In the long run, we expect an average of: (6.25% * 1000) + (56.25% * 0) + (37.5% * 500) = 250.
It's the same, neither better nor worse. What it does is smooth the graph. A smaller chance of peaks and a higher chance of the mid values, but the area under the curve is the same. If you value consistency (which I personally do) then it's better, but the change in how procs work won't make us objectively weaker or stronger.
Been said here earlier but I favor a total wipe with a dissolving of 10k and reinstating 20k. I think 10k is full of people unqualified to be there.
I like this idea but would take it further. 30k+ DPS, 60k+ DPS, and 100k+ DPS channels.

Looking for a new fleet? Drop by the in-game chat channel, "tenforwardforum", and say hi to the members of A Fleet Called Ten Forward (Fed) and The Orion Pirates (KDF). If you already have a fleet you are happy with, please feel free to drop by our chat channel if you are looking for a friendly bunch of helpful people to socialize with.
Meh a simple question and it turns into a Typical Forum Argument, FAW, Broken Mechanic's PvE Vs. PvP lol, Jena You know the Purpose of the channels its to find like minded people who play on par with each other, so it makes sense to wipe the slate clean and let everyone start over again (New Challenge heh?) if i cant consistently get 75+ k then i don't think i belong in 75K etc etc. New Mechanics new scores simple as that work your way to where you belong nothing more nothing less, and yeah Piloting (Path) and Buff timing will benefit your DPS more than any broken Mechanics

1. whats with the people which really earned their place in these channels?
2. what if cryptic delivers the next nerf in 1-2 weeks... will you reset everything then aswell?
3. what if the we get the next "creative way to reach high dps" in a few weeks and the dps channels get filled again with players just like they were when there was the plasma stuff working?
you can reset the channels
ive no prob with that
but actually then you would need to reset these channels everytime when the game environment and balancing changes (which is about once a week)
Reset everything.. maybe except for 10k channel players but general reset for everything even the dps league table would be the fairest to everyone on the long run.
Again i suggest better moderation of DPS 10k. I've been around since the early days of the channels when Quazerblade i think it was originally created DPS 5000K and we were less than a dozen strong.
Never got into the full monty of DPS i've alway been happy to be effective and carry my own weight. Hence why i've only gone as far as DPS 30k and sit on the middle ground between 10k & 30k on most of my toons. 18-26k
The overall quality of DPS 10k has slipped probably due to EAP and Plas Doping inflating DPS numbers and giving a false reading of what a player can do and many have slipped into the channels on the backend of those 2 proc's
Also the number of players who ignore the channels rule for waiting for pets is a issue. WFP is either called when advertising the match, requested when in the lobby and requested in chat/team window when warping into system and still people ignore the request even though the match creator nows they read it as they've asked if everyones rdy before launching the game and got a r in reply
Don't let any of the DPS Channels go the way EliteSTF went when the main admin for that channel went it used to be a quality channel.
All for a reboot even if it means being removed and having to earn my place back again.
I only doing 20k dps with little plasma burn. For me being able to compare myself to other builds, i am for a total reset. Cannot compare apples with oranges.

I guess HSE would need to be archived too.

Seems to be VERY favourable towards a total blanket wipe which is great IMO :-)
