Great... now I'm gonna have to spend a fortune (*cough*EC*cough*) on those uniforms for all/most of my characters...
Still, I have to admit, there is A LOT of interesting additions coming with this box.
The only downside for me is that the APU ship will probably be a 9-console ship, just as the Kazon Raider. At this point I'm not really interested, especially since the T5U variant - which we still have to pay for - is just substandard at this point.
Can we get some insight as to what ground weapon types of Vaadwaur Polaron Weaponry are going to be available?
They look pretty bad, they put black outlines on a bunch of stuff making the images look very cheap and dated like Champions Online. It's almost like they thought we would be too stupid to be able to visually separate the ship/weapon from the background, so they did it for us.
Yeah, that was my first thought as well - am I looking at the STO or CO webpage? Looks pretty bad for STO and what we're used to.

I think the APU replaces the Mirror Ships, but is upgradeable.
Space trait is garbage. "I'm gonna sit stationary, dropping my defense to zero, and in exchange for that I get: -25% damage resist and some bonus damage."
Are you guys high? Did you toke up one too much before posting this? The 'no defense while stationary' should easily pay for literally any amount of damage boost and you felt that you had to include '-25% damage resist on self'?
Someone better answer that phone... Because I F$%@#$G called it!!!!
Given that we get to fly a Vaadwaur ship in one of the story missions, and that the Elachi ships came out the next lockbox after LoR, predicting a Vaadwaur lockbox was about as difficult as predicting the sunrise.
Seperately, I'm just so disappointed in that trait. I mean if you want a balanced game you buff the currently-junk powers. Instead a buff to FAW? Pathetic.
Ermehgerd!!! Will get everything... don't care what it takes i will become the enemy and, destroy the alliance!!! Death to all who stand in the way of the vaadwaur supremacy!!!! HA HA HA.... sorry whats going on?
"I'm not big on telepaths myself. I'm not big on guns either. But if everyone else has them, I want to make sure I can get my hands on the biggest one I can."
For those freaking out about the supremacy trait? Chill. It's not that big a deal. Most FAW cruisers are running plasmonic and EPTx3 skills, and/or A2Bat depending on what you like. Couple that with other power boosts and most are running nearly full power as-is. They ARE already at the cap for weapons power. This will simply let folks bypass the need for a plasmonic to do the same. Instead of buying a console with ECs off the exchange, people will open lockboxes for lobi and buy it from there (only difference is this way Cryptic pockets the money from keys).
In short, it's just a monetization of an existing console by making said console obsolete and charging you real money for the replacement.
So how many Vaders and Starlords are we going to start seeing pop up?
Well, if you have all of the Lobi costumes, you should also be able to do a reasonable Shredder.
Actually, I'm looking at those gloves.
We're getting very close to a proper Captain Proton/space buccaneer look if you mix the Odyssey ops pants, Mirror Enterprise top, Vaadwaur gloves, mining goggles, holiday scarf, etc. Maybe the Mirror sash. I may go full Buck Rogers in at least one costume slot.
...another lockbox, another slew of features that would have made more of an impact if they were added to the base game instead of being locked behind a paywall...
Looking forward to possibly being on the giving end of those blasted polaron barrages.
First, there are long brown (and black) coats already. Look them up on the exchange. Pretty cheap for an outfit. They're from past winter events and look fairly good.
Second, using the polaron barrage yourself, you'll be disappointed. You could use it on the mission where you flew the ship to the Vaadwaur homeworld.
Here's the secret: NPCs are freaking cheats. Literally. When an NPC Negh'Var fires an isometric charge it could and WOULD wipe out your entire 5-man team on pre-DR CSE if they were all within bounce range. Happened a number of times. But if YOU grav well several ships together, pepper them with FAW or CSV, drop warp plasma on them *and* fire ISO so that it bounces back and forth between them all? You might tickle them.
Slightly.
Just because you hate how the NPC polaron barrage works doesn't mean you'll get to return the favor. Nope. You'll get the sucky nerfed version of it. NPCs get the Game of Thrones version, you get the Dora the Explorer version.
I'd like to say I'm looking forward to the anniversary, but I can't. PvP is gone, PvE is a zombie cemetery, another grind for yet another ship, a lock box that looking at supremacy doesn't bode well at all.
Bort signed that post? Cool *points a pair of Hispano high-caliber 20 millimeters cannons*
That being said, back to Star Trek. No, not the gam... er application, but DS9.
10000 xp is considered a large R&D XP boost? A passive boost equal to 30 hours of passive R&D xp in a system that can span many months is a major reward?
I think your 10,000 and 2,000 XP bonus pools for R&D are each missing a zero. When I subtract 10,000 from the total XP required to level the 7 R&D schools, I think suggesting 10K XP is a large boost is more than a bit misleading.
White DOFFs or Purple DOFFs in the pack? The answer is the difference between a lock box players can get EC back on from opening, and a lock box that leaves a player with a bunch of stuff no one else wants either.

There is more in it that I want than thought..
I will buy those damn costumes anyway, even when they remind me of Peter Quill's uniform
and that double pistole
and the Lead foot trait
and the Escort
and the Battlecruiser
Yeah, that was my first thought as well - am I looking at the STO or CO webpage? Looks pretty bad for STO and what we're used to.
edit: not enough lobbi... and it's per character and not account wide...

Could be that the three are mutually exclusive.
Star Lord, man. Legendary space outlaw.

Power creep? Yes. A bit. ERMAGAHD!? No.
900 lobi are still a freaking high price to pay.

*Ahem*
Also, a tank pet, and an APU ship? This is now officially my favourite lock box ever.
The astika trait looks scary.
Looking forward to possibly being on the giving end of those blasted polaron barrages.

Who? :P

Just a public service announcement.

Done properly, that could be delicious.
Might get an APU ship, just so i can equip it with with yellow weapons and pretend its a goa'uld hatak. Yeah, I am that nerdy.
Nice to see more R and D doffs too.
Other than that pretty meh IMO. Genetic resequencers suck this time don't they.
Why no cross faction console or ship trait pack?
Then please fill out my dissertation survey on feline attachment, it'd be a massive help (-:

Glad it wasn't just me thinking that. Cartoony doesn't do it justice, even the web pages are suffering these days...
I dunno. 10% bonus to TR-116s sounds pretty nasty.

Rules of Acquisition at Priority One
What is the general consensus on the APU ship? My hope is everyone hates it, so it'll be cheap
