Threat takes more than damage into account. Heal high. They will take a very great interest in you, especially if you AoE heal. They like to shoot people who use gravity wells even if they are being creamed with a scatter volley or fire at will quite often and the gravity well is surely not outdoing those cannons. The threat equation is a lot more complicated I think.
This is not in reply to you, Darkjeff, but I am fairly certain everyone knows and has known for a long time that this is not Star Trek Online but rather World of Escorts. The other classes, if not designed irrelevant, are made so by the playerbase. But then that's how the real world works too I suppose. The battleship went the way of the dinosaur and how many navies bring a research vessel to the front line fighting? It's escorts and carriers.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Yeah, there's nothing in the UI to show threat. I imagine it could get complicated, since your threat will vary from one enemy to the next based on how much damage you and all of your teammates have done to them.
Hence why I suggested a bar on targeted enemies by their shields and HP instead of something listed in your Status window*. That allows them to display how much of a threat you are to each individual enemy. Full bar means you have their complete attention, empty bar means somebody else has their attention, and everything else in between. It's still not perfect, but it would be better than the binary system we have now where you can only determine who has the most threat** and none of the shades of gray in between.
*although your base threat+threat control skill+/- embassy consoles could probably still go there, maybe even augmented by your overall damage and heals, but not versus a specific enemy.
**via whomever is being shot at and/or whomever is the target of target for your selected enemy.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
