Patching at 15kB/sec with 975Mb to go. Utterly ridiculous!
And on 7Mb ADSL in the UK. Its usually about 750 kB/sec.

    Rubbish.

    This is me now. :(

Mines stuck at 2%. Pathetic way to run an on-line company.

I can't believe we are going to have to wait hours until someone in this company notices something is wrong... again, just like the last time when server went berserk.

thats all you can do with every update that they bring out :D

I hereby renew my call to all fans to unite to take STO from the hands of the mainly profit-minded powers-that-be. I know we can. Hopefully, within my lifetime.
Thank you. Have a lovely day.

I would expect to not download anything since i stay away from ESD, issen't that true

You do realize that as soon as you log in, your game will start "on-demand" patching at the same super-slow speed?

Mine is still reading 64%, so I'll go make something to eat and then come back to see it at 65%. This is slower than my old 2400 baud modem was for dial-up.

Dont get me started on Dragon Age, pre ordered this summer now it says I need 64bit to operate it. So I paid 80+ for a game I cant play until I decide to reinstall windows in 64 bit which I have no plans to do until I get a new Hard Drive. Anyway back to the topic, this sucks.

Nope, since the club is only 1 small portion of the overall patch notes.

It was a bigger patch then planned and a planned patch that wasn't preplanned.

    QFT

After waiting an hour or so while I was doing other stuff I read this post, cancelled the patch and restarted. I'm now logged in.

Just click cancel and relaunch the loader, much MUCH faster.

I'd just about given up on playing on patch day due to the update stalling out even after cancelling and restarting it but rebooting my computer seemed to do the trick.

I fired up the launcher about 2.5 hrs ago... Just to start the patch process. When it was done I closed the launcher and waited for the servers to come back up.

So maybe if you didn't wait until everyone was trying to patch you would have these issues. :)

Patch changed size from 2800 MB to just under 2000 MB and is flying along. Would also recommend a cancel and patch again.

This confirms a point that many of us have already pointed out to. Instead of dedicate their talents to another expansion/scam, they should for once dedicate their resources into a better/newer infrastructure.
OK, if I have to stay here for a while, your cieling ... looks idious.:D

If you've come to the forums to complain about the AFK system, it's known to be bugged at the moment.

Well lately this whole game really starts to feel like a waste of time.....

Sorry but that just how I feel about all these bugs, and I hate to admit it since I loved this game and all Trek.

I've been patching for 1 1/2 hours and am only up to 12% (115MB/943MB)

Why is the patch going so slowly today?

Actually, this might be working only because so many are trying it. Its kind of a catch 22 there, stop patching and restart to go faster means others get the same idea, less demand while others are stopping and restarting, thus, it goes faster for those that are patching at that precise moment. I haven't done anything yet still and its actually moving decently now.
