Yeah right - I wish!

Reyan, sarcasm doesn't really suit you. Having said that, pretty funny .
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

How is this really any different from before? A small group of people would post in the Maintenance thread and another group would post about the same topic in General because someone started a thread here rather then look there - and that is not even taking into account the times General has 2+ threads about the subject that the Mods end up merging.

It is nice to believe there was only ever the Maintenance thread and Patch Notes thread, but that was seldom the case.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

There are a lot of bugs that aren't in that list. Crypticfrost's acknowledged the bug (probably in your thread), so it is a known bug, it's just not on Smirk's list. (And since Smirk's community relations, and not development or QA, I'm not sure why that matters.)

    [Edit]
Frost even posted yesterday that he thought that the fix would make today's release. Looks like he was mistaken. Someone (Borticus?) said that they had 4 codebases, so it could've just been put into the wrong codebase, and will have to wait for the next merge.

I like the list of fixes in the patch notes this week.
There is certainly more to fix but its at least some nice improvement. For several months the first patch notes/changes I am really looking forward to.

    What has you so excited?

The end of the failqueues - oops no.

The return of normal leveling - oops no.

    The nerf of carrier pets?
    The nerf to doffing?
the nerf to the poor crystalline entity? (can we now switch sides and try to defend the poor guy?)

Have no idea what those priorities were since, until this week, I had not seen a single bug that I had actually encountered be fixed. And most of them still have not been.

I could be snarky and provide a list but since Cryptic's done that in every previous change note (such as for example this one) I'll let that comment stand for itself. **** tends to get fixed. Not all of it, there's the question of dev priorities and resources that limits the process (par for the course) but its a fool thing indeed to say that process doesn't exist.

Intrepid stuff has me excited! More for the Interior aspect, as I have been a big champion for new interiors. Many of these fixes come too late as we have all suffered through tireless Vaadwaur nonsense, however if I ever decide to bring an alt through DR it will be easier.

Nice long list of fixes and additions, looks like they listened to the whiny people in the Club 47 threads , or perhaps they already had people busy on fixing these? Shocking news, more than one thing can happen at once
Even though this was never patched to Tribble for testing at all, I do happen to know what the new skin looks like. Unfortunatly it involves Wizardry and a Wizard never reveals his or her secrets.

I've seen the Galor Class Upgrade and the Federation upgrade colours myself

Galor looks like it got a tan and the feds have gone battleship grey on the colour index

Woah wait. The ship talor bug was fixed? OMG! That's been there for so long I've just gotten used to it. It's going to take me some time before I stop hitting randomize before I set my ships up the way I like. :P

A new free material has been added to all Tier 5 Upgradable ships as well as Tier 6 ships.

This material is titled Upgrade in the ship tailor.
This material will be unlocked on all current and future upgraded ships.
The material is immediately available for all Tier 6 ships.
This material is not available on a Tier 5 Upgradable ship until the ship is upgraded.

OMG, after all these seasons my Corsair finally gets a 2nd skin!!

Well, to be honest this week is my "I'll focus on the positive stuff"-week.
Next week I certainly return to my critical point of view again.
I'll promise to do better next time.

No, really... I think that many issues that ive read about in the past weeks have been addressed in this patch. Suggestions were taken in consideration and it felt a bit like the devs have started to read the forum.
Yes... i am totally aware that there are major issues yet to resolve... bugs to be fixed... balancing to be done... etc.
Ill expect all this to be patched next week oherwise Ill.... Ill.... be mad again.

It's a recent change that's only happened in the last few patches. I suspect they did it because most of the maintenance threads were filled with junk posting that had nothing to do with the maintenance.

Can you please just finally fix infected ground?!

The fact that you haven't even added it to known issues is VERY troubling. It's like you don't even care!

It was changed about a month ago because the Dev's updates and posts were getting lost in all the chatter in the Maintenance thread. So Cryptic decided to keep the Maintenance thread solely for letting people know the Server was down/up and letting people make their own thread in General if they wanted to discuss the Patch Notes. And since most of the time players tended to make a thread in General, anyway, it was not really much of a difference.

thx mate. that does imply they not stated anything about it, which has been the core of my question. indeed most if it was junk, but it gave the community a place to get over maintenance time without having to discuss ceratin things (which was good imo).
also it not all has been junk everytime in there, at least in my memory lol. hasn't there been a couple of examples where the patch notes more has been discussed than junk? but that's just a wild guess lol :D

I am interested to see what the new ship skin and the new club outfit will look like...

Interesting that there's a GPL console in the club. Drozana and DS9 used to be the only places you could access them...

    CM

p.s. and thanks for starting the thread as I've been lost not being able to discuss updates...

There. Fixed that for ya. Needed to have quotes around Wizardry (it was an RP computer game in the 1980s).

One thing Star Trek Online could really do with, is a collective of players, voted in by other players who collate, and discuss various issues within the game to the developers.

We know Cryptic work with more than just STO, if we had a collective of elected players who would meet in person, the development team for STO, and let them know the key issues we are facing, I feel we could begin to make some headway into the problems, on what is a stunning game, that is in requirement of some polishing.

Only a handful of "known issues"? Do the dev's not even read the "Bug Report" forum?? There are many pages of bugs listed there which have not been acknowledged... While the fixes listed on this update are many, the sad fact is that most of them were the result of shoddy work on DR, either not functioning in the first instance, or breaking something that was already working before DR.

We've still got a long way to go...

it just amazes me when I see the list of known bugs, there are so many that I know of alone that are not on the list like the one that is bothering me most at the moment the 'Soliton Wave Generator' from the risian luxury cruiser that is reclaimable by feds and kdf but not by romulans.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

How about invisible borg torps in STFs? That's been around ever since I can remember. Not that I expect that to ever get fixed but yeah there's lots of bugs that need fixing.
