No, some folks would flat-out refuse to believe D'Angelo if he told them Earth orbits the Sun. Trying to talk to people like that is completely pointless. As the old saying has it, "Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig."

You can't possibly be that blind. The very first sentence of his statement was a flat out lie. After that the trust is gone and the rest of the statement is essentially a joke.

I am not sure what the "fiasco" or problem is, I don't see an exodus of players, my fleet and friends roster is very active. I am not having problems leveling either. Stop stressing over maxing everything instantly and play the game and you will see nothing is wrong.

Geko on the other hand, is hopefully so busy designing tribbles with lazors, that he dosen't have time for a mere EP.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

Why has he been radio silent again?

Well, I can think of two good reasons:

    a) He's busy Executive-Producing the game, working on things like the upcoming Winter Event.

    b) Last time he broke radio silence, he explained exactly what had been going on - and on that same response page he was called a liar. Why bother communicating with a forum population that isn't going to believe anything you say anyway?

yeah, maybe he should stop lying to us to cover his and his teams mistakes then?
no sympathies for that dude, and seriously, his "you dirty cheating scum" speech called for rage,

No I wasn't telling you to uninstall the game. I was genuinely curious. I see posts from people who don't believe anything the company says, feels as if they are cheating them, feels they are ready to steal their money...and feels they are destroying Star Trek...I often wonder why these people stick around.
If I felt I couldn't trust them and they were only after my money and were going to cheat me...I would not still be around.

Of course they knew what they were doing, this has been in production for how long?

I would say it works as intended.

Lol yea that’s the thought that comes to mind! But there is also the small part in me hoping.

I mean they encourage players to upgrade their insufficient ship builds to mk14 gaining a DPS increase from 4k-6k to cope with advanced difficulty?

They reduce “values @ Level 60 to ~70% of current Holodeck values” a couple of days after a major release?

They release intel ships with new powers that deliberately seem to lead to a wrong approach to current advanced pve end game conditions?

I’ don’t know…. I still hope for some kind of simple mistake other than working as intended.

Neelix can only keep the majority of player busy for some time and then what?

He doesn't care what we think. If he did, he wouldn't have made DR the way it is. They knew exactly what they were doing. This expansion was made specifically to milk whales.

Its shocking how blatant it is isn´t it?

I expected it would be a little more subtle but no, its right out in your face! Upgrading gear is a heavy Dilithium sink, time gated with the option to sink MORE Dilithium, and then for the cherry on top they add a random element!

Never mind how genetic re-sequencers and reputation traits are just too light for a modern STO! Now you also have to get all ships and grind them to get all the traits. Lovely really. Simultaneously pushing you to get all the ships while making alts a thing of the past.

Edit: People love to rail against Geko and D´angelo, but everyone should keep in mind these financials decisions are just the way things are in a f2p game. I hate the choices the devs have made as much as anyone, but blaming them is not the solution, rather people should understand they are living the f2p reality that so many seem to love. Want to play for free? Well here´s the cost.

Why is everyone so extreme around here?

Why are people so extreme? As I see it if they can't back their stance up with evidence they resort to low-grade insults and other pathetic shows of fake one-ups-man-ship in an attempt to make others conform or go quiet.

Take the exodus of players from this 'expansion' for instance. There's a lot of people who will insult you and make dumb comments like "Well if this is the case what evidence could you have?" Funnily enough when that evidence is presented they blissfully ignore it.

Then there's the recent one involving PWE, where anyone who is against them seems to have at least one person attempt to claim they're racist? No logic behind it just pulling pathetic little cards they think mean something.

That's why you see people acting 'extreme' as it were, they have no evidence to use so to insult and be unpleasant to others is the only tool they have.

no cryptic did not. they made a claim, that's it. with the number of people who have been posting who weren't running tau dewa missions that were just grinding that got points ripped...kinda of obvious even WITHOUT adding in sto's failed script searches prior that they can't search and correct as precisely as they claim.

they can't even get long standing bugs out of the game and you seriously think they can make a script or spend time searching through each players accounts that is going to be accurate? if so...you are a fool. they;ve lied before, they'll lie again...the only thing that keeps players in this is the IP...star trek.

but then again cryptic only wants a select few players types in the game.
those with lots of disposable income
those that think cryptic are gods and can do no wrong

    they do not want:
    soloers
    small groups of friends
    those that question cryptics decisions
those that are capable of long hours of grinding OR farming...you might be an exploiter if you do either you know.

so they don't really care about the players they lose, have lost, or are never going to get. as long as they get to keep the sycophants with deep pockets.

sure, those that are left will have fewer people to show off their stuff too, fewer people in queues, less diversity in the game overall. but everyone will always agree cryptic is the best eh?

cryptics silence is a statement. they are ignoring anything to do with tau dewa as they have already made up their minds. they don't want anyone in the game who questions them or their decisions. instead of outright bannng which would look really bad...they give nudges.

fair return for time and effort spent? not in this game. cryptic prefers you buy boosters and zen to convert to dil.

the xp nerf means boosters and running normals wil net you more faster than elites. the dil nerfs means more zen on the exchange...though the flaw in their plans is where is that dil going to come from since farmers are who mostly provides it. and with the decrease in dil rewards...

meh...typically cryptic. stuck in the past still thinking gamers are the same as they were years ago. if they didn't have the star trek IP, if this was just some space game...they would have never made it this long. they have a great deal of arrogance because of that brand name backing. they can do anything they think because they will always have the star trek fans on board.

I have been having trouble getting into the game since the Delta Rising patch took place.
Even wiping my game and re downloading it has given me the same error......

I can try to log in...but i only get so far as the Delta Rising logo screen then i get this error that saying my cryptic crashed, hung on some 3D graphics driver or something other like that.

I have had trouble trying to find a way to reach devs...I have had Arc and the game for at least a year so i see no reason i am not allowed to create a forum thread either.

Anyway, I usually play EvE Online...but I enjoy STO as well...if anybody most especially a DEV or someone that contact me some how and tel me how to get back in game it would be much appreciated.

On your point though, I do consider it being an exploit as a lie, since it was there for months on tribble, and reported as so. If it had been an exploit, then why wasn't it fixed, before the game launched? Either they are lying, or incompetent. Neither one bodes well for them.

DR - Patrol Missions FPS Lag (not all of them but enough to say this about them)
There is one that you have to deal with Sun Burst can really drain your shields by 20% ouch! No matter where you go on that tight map you just can't hide from that effect.

DR so much marketing of the the Expansion and all you really get is some great full missions (mean the real mission not the patrols). To me each mission should have been carefully handled so that there wouldn't be any FPS Lag. They must have seen this happening but just let go under the rug as we say here. Too much time spend on the DR to get it out on time for Oct 14, 2014 Deadline.

Also frankly the CEO should speak to us here, I mean the one that started CRYPTIC STUDIO's.
But in all someone came out and had spoken to use telling us why, what, where and who did it and what they did to correct the matter. Good PR Message to the Players (since we all here are not the Media Press) :D

PWE and Cryptic (and by extension, the devs) make money based on how many players are in game and how long we spend in game. The more players and the more time each individual player spends in the game the better it is for the folks at Cryptic.

Unfortunately, this reality of the game has turned into systematic, heavy-handed approach from devs:

-- making the leveling from 50 to 60 much more time consuming
-- removing everything from the game that helps players level faster
-- making all the PVE/STF group queues more difficult so it's harder to level up or earn the items you need to obtain good gear
-- punishing players who find ways to level faster

Apparently, the message from Cryptic to the players is, "Shut up and play. If you don't like it, we'll find ways to make you waste more time in this game until you never come back."

The sad thing is that many of us would in fact "shut up and play" if the devs did something that makes us feel like they at least pretend to care, like add more points/rewards for the insanely hard PVE/STF queues so they are actually WORTH the time, or make a change to the game so that if you level one toon to 60 all other toons on your account level faster.

Changes like that would go a long way to making players feel like the devs are hear to make a great game and not here to TRIBBLE us all off until we stop playing.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."

Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.

Yea the question is just if you find it in STO now unless of course you wanna play as Ferengi gambler addicted to lock boxes or as Pakled engineer not getting the modifiers on your crafted items quiet right.

Both of which would be tolerable side quests to fund a game you love but should not be the only thing left to do.

Oh playing Undine yelling “The weak will parish” at weaker players in advanced queues is an option as well I suppose. Mehh, forget that one please! Endgame is doing that by itself already.

Yes for the Love of Star trek CBS Plz remove the IP
    I completely agree!
You guys do realize that CBS has given other game companies Trek licenses - Star Trek: Timelines or the new MMO coming from NGames are but two example - and that the existence of STO in no-way prohibits other companies from making new Star Trek games, right?

It seems very narrow-minded to demand STO be cancelled simply because you do not like it. If you do not like it then do not play it and wait for the next game coming down the pike. Saying you do not like it and will not play it is not the same thing as saying I do not like it so no one else should be allowed to play it.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
