i could go on...even within your stupid parameter of 'well known' as if that matters...an artificial restriction because you don't want to be wrong and tried to hedge your point 'if i don't know the game it isn't well known so doesn't count'. think i listed enough well known just from memory.

players vote with their money and time. games have failed when developers didn't listen. the only and consistent thing sto has ever had going for it is that its the only star trek mmo around.

EA puts out games you can't get from any other company and fools, a lot of them keep hoping that the next game won't be a dismal failure so they buy, that and they are heavily into consoles where they make their cash regardless selling if no where else to places like gamestop. and considering the sheer number of IP's EA controls...no mmo publisher comes close...silly comparison.

Star craft 2 - not an MMO in the same way STO or a game like planetside 2 is
WOW - a P2P game which has been around for far longer than this issue has.
everything else - yeah, just go to the forums of each of these games and you will easily realize they all have devs that tend to ignore the forums and playerbase.

What is exploiting on playing in a higher level? It is realy hard at acertain level, to get trough the mission, without respawning a dozend times. Especially if it is about pulling a friend on a higher level, so he can contribute to the fleet a little faster? Its a MMORPG!

Funny thing is, when ppl fail a public queque, the apologists immediately pounce with their usual trite "That's why you shouldn't PUG!!" But when ppl actually get organized for a change, and band together, in order to level up, Craptic, and their equally sad apologists, immediately scream foul too!

The bitter truth is that they don't want you to level up too fast, because you're supposed to remain so 'inapt' at doing their new DR content, that sheer frustration will prompt you to buy their shiny new C-Store T6 ships, upgrade tokens, and what not.

Geko in board room: "They're not buying our ships! Somebody, do something!!"

I'm just curious and in no way am I trying to be inflammatory, but there have been calls in various chats about a boycott.

    Would you? Could you?

I'm not sure I could even if I was willing to. Don't get me wrong, elite patrols were not broken. I am kinda miffed too, but would a boycott really do anything? I am also as tired as everyone else of really large bugs not being fixed but an emergency quarantine being pretty quick.

I don't know - I've been in game since launch. Either I am burning out on the game or Cryptic is burning me out on the game, maybe both.

best way around striking workers, slaves and what not is finding new temporary workers and such to cover the staff and hours, if they work out, kick out the strikers from their positions and just leave em to cry about their mistreatment, eventually it will stop in any event.

i honestly dont see the point in a boycott knowing that logic is on the table, i mean why risk it. but this is a game, the devs have never cared for entitlement claims, will they notice it, im not a dev i cant say but the chances are considering their past actions, this boycott probably wouldnt get noticed. they have their own plans and what they plan on doing, in previous seasons there have been instances like this where a minority of a few have announced they dont like and want others to join em, but the thing is that none of them have worked of suceeded in the past. on occasion there is the brief but unified voice on the forum about something and this one thing was changed, but its very rare to see it as its happened like 2 times over the last few years.

so this boycott, i dont see the point in it, i cant see any good reason to join it either.

I could boycott for a hell of a lot longer then a week, and not because of sector patrols. Take your pick. I, about finished looking for excuses to pay to play something else.

    Starfleet Captains:

I have posted an outcry on our behalf on FB, first on STO Wall and second on my wall! PLEASE support the cause by using the "Like" on this following comment on their FB wall, just maybe they might start listening... (and maybe pigs might start flying...)

We won't know until we try!

    FB wall post:
ATTENTION all potential players of Star Trek Online: As of yesterday, most of all the player base to Star Trek Online believed Perfect World was the primary greed company calling the shots in STO. As a dedicated player & fan since 1 yr. prior to the launch of the game, I cannot stress how poorly Cryptic betrayed us current players yesterday in the manner of shutting down an area of the game for mission playing and leveling because players choose to level there instead of leveling on their new content. This is an area they programmed! This area and method of leveling wasn't an exploit by the players, though that is the message they are sending out! This action seems to had nothing to do with Perfect World & everything to do with a decision by the Cryptic Devs. I would advise anyone considering to play this game to forget it! The game is bug infested, been poorly programmed for several months now, while they continue to write new content for the sole purpose of advertising virtual ships/items to buy with real money that are fluff to the game, a game programmed for the sole purpose of grind feast (any if your characters aren't up to the grind, we'll sell you what you need for real money, until we need to leech your wallets again, in which case we will change the game to do so), while not changing the game for the better or in any manner the player has requested.
Current players of STO: Show your outrage to Crpytic of the their behavior since the launch of the last couple "Seasons" by liking this post and adding your thoughts of how the game really is!

you made another mistake, i played those games and more...so yeah, i have been on the forums and when they put out stuff or changed mechanics in a way players didn't like...they listened when the numbers started to drop both for profit and the player base. get a clue before you try and start staing that loss of players has no effect, feedback and loss of players has a huge effect IF the company pays attention.

in the failed games they didn't, they made a mistake a lot of mmo's did and still do...that the players will 'get used to it'. or that they think their plan is perfect and players are to stupid to see what geniuses the developers are.

so...i speak from experience...what do you have going besides guess work and wishful thinking?

when has a "boycott" EVER worked in any MMO, ever....seriously this kind of thing just does not work because most players either never new what the issue was/is or simply do not care.
    EVE's Summer of Rage.
WoW's "real name on the forums" controversy.

Re: the OP, I'm already underway, although in my case it's more about DR overall, not just patrol missions.

I've boycotted other things for much longer so, yes. If the issue is important enough, like maybe reverting to the old Doff UI, then I certainly would.

I haven't made up my mind about Tau Dewa since i've never tried it, but I might join a boycott for solidarity.

a boycott isn't going to work. Not like this. As of right now you don't even know if those upset enough to boycott are the vocal minority or the majority. There are other things to factor.
How many people will actually go through with it?
How many people saying they will boycott aren't playing the game anyway?

    Already working on it.

I wasn't paying much attention to STO since I played last campaign missions, and this time around, with Cryptic kicking me in the teeth and obsoleting everything I played over a year for, I don't have any incentive to participate even that much.

About a month after any expansion they have ever come out with after the PWE take over tons of people leave for months because nothing changes then they come back and nothing changes that lasts a few months then the next expansion comes. This one was unbelievably the worst the amount of poorly thought out and lazily implemented patrol missions as episode content was a very dumb and uninspiring idea. The crafting system being reset again and still not being as good as upgraded fleet consoles or some argue even the fleet weapons so you set all our crafting to 0 after it was max and it's still useless just a dill grind for people not in a fleet I suppose. This feels less and less like star trek all the time. Yes I know just quit playing then that's not the point as founders it hurts all of us to see a game we loved be utterly destroyed by the one thing Star Fleet never had Greed and the obsession of material things. I will end with thoughts on the STF changes instead of using the same STF's for this Delta expansion that you have been using for 3 years maybe you could have made new one's instead of changing tactics (very slightly) on the old one's showing the community more laziness.
