Why all the hatred towards Tovan Khev? He's handsome and well mannered.
You can't get rid of him. That limits party customization. Some of us would rather create our own party of boffs entirely from scratch. Tovan forces us to build around him instead of letting us build him around us.
His character arc gets basically no resolution at all. A dozen missions of buildup, and then it's "Ohai Rinna" and then she's never referred to again.
He's got plain Romulan Operative instead of Superior Romulan Operative, making him mechanically substandard.
'civil' and 'star trek vs. star wars' do not belong in the same sentence...
Sure they do. I just get irritated when people post the same tired arguments over and over no matter how many times they're refuted. Like the "lasers can't penetrate navigational shields" idiocy, which I can refute without even bringing Star Wars into the argument.

I think things get even more muddy when you add things like Stargate, Wing Commander, Star Fox, Battlestar Galactica...
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Plus the Cybermen, the Zygons, the Adipose from that one really awesomely hilarious 10 episode, and a string of really good actors.
Has anybody ever seen or tried to create the Dr.s' Daughter here...
The bust and badunkadunk sliders are perfect for her.

You mean Georgia Moffet?
(not to be confused with Stephen Moffat the talentless hack writer)
She was great in that 10 special. It was really cute because she's like 6's niece IRL or something, and she and David Tennant hit it off so well they eventually tied the knot.

Honestly it's hard to really have a debate on some of those. For example, Doctor Who and HHGTTG basically run on silly. That's why I'm less annoyed by time travel never working the same way twice in DW than in Trek -- the show is nutty enough anyway that it doesn't break my WSOD.
Meanwhile firepower numbers for SG are basically entirely plot-dependent, though you can make rough guesstimates. e.g. a Ha'tak's anticapital guns top out at 200 megatons per shot, an Ori ship can wear it with impunity, and an Asgard plasma beam trumps an Ori ship which means a Ha'tak is toast if it challenges a late-model Daedalus-class. (I explain the Hammond failing over Icarus Base in the SGU pilot via the Lucians getting lucky and knocking out Carter's weapons before she got her shields up. You'll notice she never even fired her main guns.)
Then you get to Star Wars. Even with the explicit EU numbers having been struck from official canon, this is still a setting where people talk about crossing the galaxy like they were taking a jaunt across town, rather than it being an impossibly huge distance to travel as in VOY. Meanwhile being able to construct a moon-sized battlestation in a few months speaks to the Empire's industrial and logistical capacity, and asteroid vaporization calculations and the destruction of Alderaan give you firepower numbers.
Then you get to harder SF with well-defined setting rules, like Mass Effect. For example a background event in ME2 (the gunnery chief yelling at those recruits) gives you the firepower and reload rate of the spinal mount on a Systems Alliance dreadnought (and all the Citadel races have basically the same tech base so they're probably about the same), and we get FTL speeds and ballpark estimates of their fleet sizes from the codex.
