    No, not true.

Most of the listed debuffs can be cleansed using existing boff abilities such as Science Team, Hazard Emitters, EptX, etc.

The only debuffs that Intelligence Team is specifically required to cleanse, are the ones applied by the Intel Ships' "Gather Intel" ship mechanic.

In other words, T5U ships can't "remain competitive" as promised.

Ironic yet another dev blog about something that doesn't resolve any major KDF issues. Plus the fact that when the universal station issue is addressed its a direct insult to the KDF especially since our bops use all universals so people like myself if and when they play are/or would like to be using a bop that this would be useless for someone like myself to even bother wanting to play.

I do challenge Cryptic to come out with just *ONE DEV BLOG* that would make me remotely interested in logging in sometime within a month of delta rising coming out to even bother playing anything in this new expansion rofl. So far its just a bunch of TRIBBLE covered up in targ dung being eaten by tribbles.

Rank III abilities will be obtainable in-game for Captains that seek the additional customization and effectiveness of these high-end options. Information on unlocking those options will be included in a future Dev Blog.

Slightly off topic, but have there ever been internal discussions by the design team at Cryptic to address some of the current flaws of the Boff training system? e.g. the need to physically trade a boff to another captain for captain training, and the fact that some boffs cannot be traded, and issues that arise related to training Allied-Faction Romulan bridge crew (or vice versa)?

Since a new class of abilities is being added and you have to delve into the training system anyway, it would seem that now could possibly be an ideal time to muck around in the Captain-training system and resolve some of these issues.

I asked this on the tribble release notes forum and did not get an answer so, not to be a nagger, when will tribble be unlocked for everyone else? I have done bug testing on tribble but I am currently locked out of the server. I woluld love to know what the prospective unlock date is and, please, let it be more than two weeks like it was for LOR.

By the way you've probably seen it anyway but just in case I've been able to track down 12 ways to trigger the Crystaline shield bug. It's been added to thread in the bug reports forum. Probably not a high priority thing right now but you'll know where to find it :)
    Crystalline shield bug?
Would like to see all current PLAYABLE races added as Intel BOffs, that includes purchasable Benzite for feds, Letherans for Klingons and Remans for Romulans. Also would like to see Romulan Intel BOffs added as options for Feds and Klingons, with the faction specific Romulan uniforms.
    Agreed.

And ALL Boffs from the Romulan Embassy, being that it's a Romulan republic facility should have Romulan Republic and faction specific uniform options. That should've been a day one thing.

    Absolutely.

The trading action is pointless. It's nice to help someone out, but overall it's a general pain to have to find someone, strip down a character, trade them then wait in order to get them back.

It would be much more logical for our officers to have to spend some time at Starfleet/Klingon Academy/New Romulan Command and train in a new ability than to actually swap them between Captains in an odd cross training program that has no basis in canon and no gaming necessity.

I would also like such a system to be used to improve the traits of the BOFFs and increase their quality. I'll reiterate being able to train our BOFFs with new specializations is an EXCELLENT direction to go in, please don't restrict it to a new specialist class. It's like when Ro Laren a Conn officer by trade, went off to Starfleet Advanced Tactical Training school and was immediately used in an espionage mission.

I understand fully that Delta Rising is a new expansion with new mechanics, but this is the direction that I hope the game is going.

This ability was cut during implementation. It should be removed from the list. Same goes for "Holographic Mask" - also cut.

Sorry about that! Looks like a very old version of that chart was accidentally attached to the blog, instead of a more recent one.

I'm hoping that Cryptic will be increasing the max number of BOFF slots, so players that may have maxed out their BOFF slots can add Intel Officers without having to give up current BOFFs.

Well, this has certainly got me thinking. You probably don't want to answer any questions just yet, since stuff is still in flux, but who knows, maybe it will help just to ask.

How will these abilities balance out against existing abilities? From what I can see, they're abilities of the 'nifty tricks' category. My concern is that there might legitimately be no room for such abilities in a pure damage build. If I were to buy the phantom, what would my motivation be to slot, say, Surgical Strikes III in my commander slot instead of Attack Pattern Omega III? It would have to be a comparable DPS boost to be competitive, or it will just not be used(I have more than enough accuracy, but possibly others might not? I guess it might be situationally useful in that case).

I will be honest, I will probably tinker around with all of these abilities, but unless there is something compelling, I probably won't stay with them.

(You'll notice I use the word 'probably' a lot, I'm leaving myself a way out in case I'm wrong! :P )

So, the blog mentions that other specializations can be added in the future. Are there plans for T5U ships with standard bridge officer seating to ever be able to take advantage of new bridge officer specializations and powers? It seems like they could never be considered equal to T6 otherwise.

T5-U isn't meant to be equal to T6...or else it would be T6. I think this difference and separation has to be realized as a necessity to prevent stagnation in the game.

Long story involving free dental and a much better life expectancy. But this is neither the time nor the place.

Devs, any chance we can get our hands on the costumes shown in the article? They look super cool.

Will the Intel officers from the Delta Operations pack be distinct from the in-game ones (special species, for example like Caitian/Ferasan/Android/Voth/Borg or other BO species that won't be normally obtainable?) or will they simply be high quality Intel officers?

Based on the blog it is safe to asume that the specialisation we get for our Captains is also inteligence, my main engi Captain is speced as a tank space/ ground support i dont se any extremly usefull abilities for space that i would find interesting so this rises some questions:
1.Will we see a non specialised (or non inteligence) t6 ship?
    2. Can i reach 60 and save my "skill points" untill another more attractive specialisation is brought in game?
    3. Will changin specialisation involve a respec tooken?
    4. Do you plan to relese new specialisations by end of this year or will be waiting another year for you to release a new x-pansion and new specialisation accordingly

I'm hoping that Cryptic will be increasing the max number of BOFF slots, so players that may have maxed out their BOFF slots can add Intel Officers without having to give up current BOFFs.

We have already asked about this in the last month or so but so far had no word from cryptic. Hopefully in this thread we might be given some hope.

As some one with the maximum number of bridge officer slots who has slaved over spreadsheets for many hours to squeeze the maximum number of useful ability combinations out of the 54 boff limit (and could still use about 5 or 6 more slots to truly optimize every build for every ship I have).

I am desperate to know if we can expect a limit increase or weather I will have to sacrifice some of my existing build options.

If I am going to have to schedule time of work to spend re-optimizing my matrix to accommodate these officers I would appreciate some foreknowledge. If there is a chance of a slot increase that will releave some of my DR apprehension.

Didn't the Delta Operations Pack FAQ mention something about an intelligence outfit along with the Dauntless class?

I suspect the intelligence officers might be wearing that mythical missing outfit.
