It's 13 Boff abilities, the ability to slot Intel over the other profession instead of both (and all of which can be cleared conventionally, not just by Intel), a Sensor Analysis effect that takes time to build up to an actual effect you can exploit, and otherwise are a bit more squishy
That's what I see anyway - that they're hardly 'so OP it's stunning' category
Really?
So the faster and more manueverable isn't a benefit to the Cruiser?
Cloak isn't a benefit to the Cruiser?
Turnrate of 10 deg/sec isn't a benefit to the Cruiser?
Dual Cannons isn't a benefit to the Cruiser?
Lt Cmdr Tac (Offensive Buffs) plus a Commander Intelligence (most likely Offensive Buffs / Defensive Buffs / Off-Def Debuffs) in tandem with superior hull, turn rate and 5 Engineering Consoles isn't going to create a super escort?
Structural Integrity Siphon? Drain other ships SI while strengthening your own, in tandem with utterly ridiculous amounts of tactical power?
Sounds to me like the Devs wanted to build an unstoppable escort, and did it on a cruiser chasis, while turning their already favored class (escort) into an even beefier glass cannon.

That's what I'm saying; you blow it out of proportion that it's OP
We have a Cruiser that can Alpha-Strike... so there'll be higher demand for ships that can tank it; working to counter it as with all other builds. Tthe Intel gathering takes time to build up, and doesn't actually give a benefit until the ship is fully exposed. And all Intel buffs/debuffs/so on can be cleared by the usual Tac/Eng/Sci, whether it's Teams or Subnuc, of either Sci or Intel profession.
It's a new issue to contend with, but it isn't I-win or unstoppable; they can be taken care of just like any others
I generally know what they're capable of, and frankly, I find them underwhelming. Enough that I'm not upgrading to T6 at all, but that's just me All serious on that
And I find that last part offensive, thank you

1 Lieutenant Tactical/Intel, 1 Lieutenant Commander Engineering, 1 Lieutenant Commander Science, 1 Commander Science/Intel, 1 Ensign Universal for a total of 13 seats.
And is it correct it will not have Sensor Analysis and Subsystem Targeting? Then it would seem it's the Only Tier 6 ships that actually loses something substantial. Without those, a Science Vessel is basically a undergunned Cruiser. (Well, without Sensor Analysis, at least. Subsystem Targeting - meh.)

Those new starfleet ships look terribly ulgy to me.
They have nothing of the typical elegance and charm of the Starfleet vessels; they rather look like sophisticated toothbrushes or depilators.
i agree
what i have seen so far is quite ugly, but well, thats for everyone to decide themselves.
What i dont like is more fed ships using a cloak, no matter the explatation.
The main problem I have right now is not knowing how big the schild hp buffs will be and wich console we get with T5U11 and more to the point which extra console those new ships get when upgraded to fleet ships.
what i have seen so far is quite ugly, but well, thats for everyone to decide themselves.
That's pretty much the point; these new Intel ships are designed for a purpose un-typical of Starfleet (stealth), and thus they're going for a new aesthetic to match it
However, it is not the aesthetic for every Starfleet ship from now on; much like the Defiant, they're simply spearheading a new operation

Are we looking at Starship Traits ending up in Lock Boxes - so the different factions have access to the Starship Traits from different factions? Along the lines of what was done with the consoles?
sorry to say, but overall T5U seems a big waste of Zen as T6 ships (now that we have more info) will be GREATLY outclassed by any T6 ship they encounter.
Honestly, (IMO) any T5U ship is effectively obsolete given the combination of all the extra abilities the newer T6 ships will have. WTG Cryptic.
The 2 T6 Intel escort's are very interesting and they will make PVP more interesting for feds and romulans
I still hope it is a typo in fed escort description : " +10 Power to Weapons and +10 Power to Engines"
Because if it is not then fed escort will be far more better than the romulan escort with more hull ,more eng abilities (4 Eng abilities fed > 3Eng abilities romulan)
So if you are a vaper you will have better chances to hit and run into a romulan escort while if you want to dogfight with other escort you are better with fed escort.

well, i for one am looking forward to trying out a couple of these ships, particularly the Eclipse and the Faet, for the two alts i've got that i'm currently running in the nonupgradeable mirror ships.
considering a fleet upgrades give +10% hull and shields and an extra console slot the fleet versions of these ships will have console comparability to the t5u~11 console slots total. still, i think the extra console for both the t5u and the t6f should be limited to a universal console....
I'm either slightly confused or missing something obvious - T6 is meant to have 11 console slots, so why do the ship stats for all vessels only list 10 for each ship? Is one being left out to account for the on board console?
Is this also a Type that there is no Subsystem Targeting etc. listed? Do I get a gimped Science-Wannabe Ship? What about the Second Deflector? What happened to that Idea?
Or has Cryptic completely abandoned Science as a Captain and Ship Class alltogether and just makes some Alibi "Science" Ships that are just more half escorts than anything else.

T5-U ships will feature a sizeable number of additional hit points that will increase as your captain levels up, an additional console slot, and four Starship Mastery levels.
The little table further down says that T5Us as well as T6s will have an additional console slot. The special console will be unslottable as any unversal console has been before I imagine. Everything else would be... strange.
I was wondering what the defence against this ships could be with the skill we now have on our skill tree. Say I want to drag my T5-U into PVP what skills will increase resistance to being intelligently scanned, perhaps increase the time it takes to exploit and debuff, and then also decreases the time of the exploit debuff effect.
The Phantom Escort is the only ship i'll get from that lot, most likely. Still fugly though...
Can the devs please drop the T5-U will be competitive now? It is quite obvious they are not even remotely comparable!
I already own a ship that has a similar boff layout to the new T6 ships, it is the Tempest. And yes, she already wipes the floor with all my other escorts, so lets stop pretending now, shall we?

its not like i dont get the explanation, its just whatever the reason may be, i dont like the looks of it. its nothing to do with "not canon" or anything like that.
As you said yourself, the defiant when it was first introduced was also a new kind of design, as with other ships later seen in the shows. STill i liked those, and dont like the new intel ships, at least the fed and kdf ones. I do like the new rom cruiser d'd - variant.
But my opinion may change once i see them in full 3d (-projection) and can look at them from all angles myself.
Fleet tier 6 ships, extra Lt. Commander boff power, extra console (same as t5-fu), +10 hull/shields..
Just when i started to enjoy pvp... fun thing is, 13th boff = lots of new builds !!
To use intel. or not...
Faeht Intel Warbird for me....
The issue here is the Tier 6 will replace all the ships you have, but if you just spend a lot on the ships you have either EC, D-ore or even Zen ouch! So right now seeing all the videos from one guy who tells it as it is for Delta Rising I kind of seeing where all of this is leading too. So my two Event T5 will be upgraded to T5-U for FED, ROM and KDF will being getting one more slot under Tac Console. If it's an Escort then it gets Engineer Console slot.
Seems 5 is the limit for these Tac, Eng, Sci Console Slots but you can see they made it reach 5 slots. With all the drops I am getting from Reputation System from Dyson I won't be able to use them since I don't have enough slots for them. So I have to pick and choose.
Tier 6 seems to be programmed to have cloak integrated already if so there is no need to take up any additional slots which you could use for your own universal consoles is the way to go or new epic universal ones.
So 5 slots max for your ship configuration Fore/Aft weapons, devices, Engineering, Science, Tactical Consoles.

boff seats wont change with fleet upgrade.

you are confusing refits with fleet versions.
the only one where it happens afaik out of the top of my head is the science vessel where the fleet version has a different layout then the refit version.
edit: checked out of curiosity out of 47 fleet ships only 7 come with different layout and often its a swap of engsin/lt slots.

I had hoped to see another Forward and Aft weapons lot for Tier 6 ship, so I am a little disappointed. The rest of the complaints seem like a bunch of non-sense. The ships are not even in game nor it the T5U option.
I do not know about everyone else, but I do not use all the powers I currently have in game during a mission or PVE.
If you don't want to change ship then don't. If you don't want to upgrade your ships then don't. If you want to spend money on the game then don't.

Nice stats, altho a bit disappointing on the boff seats.
I was hoping with these new T6 ships both fed and kdf to get at least an escort or cruiser with a Lt.Com sci boff station, like a sci escort or a sci cruiser.
But I see both get a Lt.Com enginner station
Sux that only rom ships get that, wich is good, not saying the rom one shouldnt get it btw. Would be nice to be able to do NWS in ur own faction ship, and not in lock box ships or event ships if u r lucky to own a breen ship.
On the Phantom wouldve been nice a 5 weapon fore configuration :P And it remains to be seen if the fleet version will get the extra shield mod, since the fleet defiant never got it, whatever it was a bug or not, wich IIRC was never officialy settled.
Also on both fed and kdf cruisers the lack of the 4th tac console will make ppl think twice on buying these. There is allready a good cruiser in the form of the Tal Shiar adapted cruiser with cloak and 3 tac console and with a very versatile boff seating. Lets hope the fleet versions will get that 4th tac console.
And last, about the Intel Rom Ship, I dont think the enhanced battle cloak was a good move since alot of ppl dont want it. It trades a significant hull price that not many will want to pay becouse they wont use it that much or at all, since its special console and the new intel gather mechanic requires to drop out of cloak anyway...
But alas, one good thing tho, I already liked how the rom intel ship looks, and now the more pics I see of the phantom and eclipse the more I like them
Qib needs 4th tac console instead of 5th engi. Battle cloak is nice but not as effective as with Romulan/Reman toons. Otherwise I'm sticking with my Fleet Vor'cha and Mogh.
I hope stats for Maha are more promising than this.
And, I'll say that the PvP community has, yet again, been "misunderstood" in their activities...
To wit: T5U11 with "cheese" console (thinking SIC here, and all the other mostly lockbox consoles that PvP has "banned" due to being OP) vs a T6 without said console (can't "afford" to slot it due to 10 console limit) = "competitive with equal player skill in 1v1"... Which, technically, means that said T5U11 + cheese = Competitive...
With the fact that Cryptic "barely" recognizes the differences between tiers (aka, they do so only when it suits them, like the T5.5 "lockbox" grade being better than T5+1 C-store to drive lockbox sales - but when it comes time to state "PvP competitiveness" they say T5 = T5...) this leads to the statement "All of T5 will be competitive with T6 at all times" - and even then, they did not use the word "all" - giving them the wiggle room to slap all the conditions on... (is this where I'm supposed to facepalm?)
And yet, to meet the almighty "there's gonna be a reason to buy T6 instead of rolling only with T5U" - obvious power creep is obvious. No "power" console (aka PvP ordained as OP)? Not up to T6 par. Power console on CD? Better evade, you're not up to T6.
And before the "extra hull & shields help the situation" commentary - really, when the opposition's doing even 10k DPS, having a "combined" 10,000 bonus differential between the T5U11 and the T6 is "only" one second - at most 4 for one volley to start...
Because of cooldowns, I've factored that the "average" clicky-power console = ensign slot. The "average" OP console could equal LtCmdr slot by that logic. Therefore, is this Cryptic saying "T5Us better start slotting all the consoles we've build, OP or not", or is there going to be a cooldown reducer available on the T5Us (special console slot?) to make the "average" console closer in effect to the LtCmdr slot?
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

Slapping cloak on fed ships - against lore, I can picture the pvp matches now.
Ship traits not having any animations giving people zero incentive to buy several ships to unlock ship traits and put them on their t5.
Design wise they were all built at the same shipyard since they all have the same tron design?
Seriously actually really it was totally counter productive to call it t6 to begin with.
Could just have announced a new class or type of ships that fits into the story and saved everyone a lot of trouble.
