Will it be able to be used anywhere or just in designated areas/maps, which would really take away it's "cool" factor?

I have just played the mission where the grapple is first used. The grapple is indeed a press f here to use item. Its not even a slottable device. It neat and all, but thats about it. :rolleyes:
