my idea was to stop using the new ships and go back to my old one. i figure ill take them out again when and if we get a fleet version. and i know people keep saying we WILL GET A FLEET VERSION but look at the gurumba thing. its a ship most like and we still dont have a fleet version of it YET!

but add a console to that qib and them maybe it will hold up a bit better for now its jsut another expensive storage locker for me.

How does this ship handle things like uber-buffed Infected the Conduit: Advanced and The Cure: Advanced?

I'm having trouble thinking that it'd be a good idea to take a 3 Tac console ship into either ISA or CSA in their current state. Good god, so many damage sponges now. Can the Intel seating make up for it? Is Surgical Strikes as good as Singularity Overcharge Rom side?

Tanking you can make up for fairly easily through Specializations, but extra damage beyond upgrading your weapons and consoles is not as easy (some rear-arc stuff and accuracy boosts in there, but not much compared to the HP differences on enemies).

Surgical Strikes seems to be the FAW for single targets. Beats out SO pretty easily actually.

Qib can tank a lot better than the other intel ships, but it's no Battlecruiser. Currently Aehlal is winning the tank race by a country mile, followed by the Eclipse. Damage wise the Mah'Ta and Phantom are showing the most potential. A Mah'Ta Cannon build can be lethal. Still working on my Qib though.
    Chris Robert's on SC:
"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."

Really? Might be enough potential then in the Qib. When I was using a beam D'Deridex SO ripped chunks out of the old Gates and Crystalline Entity, but I was running 5x Superior Romulans and a [OLoad] core on top. If S.Strikes can keep pace with that, and 2 copies keeps the cooldown low enough, it could be a viable rig even with the amped-up content.

Still on the fence between it and the Mat'Ha. I'd likely run an AP rig with the Obelisk core and the Dyson arsenal two or three set for the Qib, or a Disruptor (mostly old Mk XII [Borg] weapons) build with 8472 Counter-Command arsenal two set on the Mat'Ha. Neither build would have Spire consoles initially, as this is an alt that doesn't have much fleet stuff, so that has to be factored in.

Haven't tried double-ing up Safety Override, but I do know that combining it with Surgical Strikes will roughly triple your damage per volley. My poorly-specced Fed-Sci went from 4k to 13k crits(x4) with their Eclipse(which shares an identical bridge/console/etc. layout with the Qib). I still haven't gotten around to building an AP version of it for my KDF Tac yet, but I expect those numbers to at least double.. if not break 30k per DBB.

I'll just repost this from another thread made by dontdrunkimshoot here in this thread, since I haven't seen other videos of this ship in action in this thread made for it or anywhere else for what it's worth.
ok here's the kdf cruiser https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjZbJUHfJZo&feature=youtu.be next I'll probably try to record the fed version with beams in action

I loved watching this even though I have the ship myself, my gear on the char I use it on and ship-building skills are not so good as ddis', so it was nice to see it's potential. Seems like one more traditional Klingon beast. :)

Well, I did buy the Qib and I have tons of KDF toons. 1 of them I issued the Qib and built her up as a vanilla but still decent beamboat. Very traditional. For my TAC, since I didn't want to fly the same build style, I wanted something different.

After looking at the BOFF station setup, it only hit me now to utilize the Qib's ENG/Intel Hybrid station as an extension of "Tactical abilities." Also, the nice thing about the Qib is that at very first glance, it's a very heavy ENG BOFF setup. Cmdr & LtCdr, though the Cmdr station is hybrid with Intel. That means that you could slate a whole lot of tactical, offensive oriented Intel abilities yet still have enough to make it act like an "Escort-Destroyer" in terms of remaining ENG abilities.

You can, for most parts, turn the Qib into an Escort.
    - You have fixed LtCdr TAC station as the backbone.
    - You have a Universal Ensign station to use as TAC.
    - Between the Hybrid Cmdr ENG and Lt SCI stations, you have tremendous room to stuff in offense oriented Intel abilities.

You could, theoretically, have more "offense oriented" abilities than a Escort does, yet still retain enough ENG ability, the hull & shields of a Battlecruiser, the 8 weapon slots of a Cruiser. The key thing is to make use of Surgical Strikes, Override Subsystem Safeties to bring more punch. There's also a slew of Intel abilities to land even more debuffs on top of your attacking power. You could, like DD showed in that video, go even Dual A2B (I'm experimenting with Single A2B).

The more I look at it, the Qib is increasingly looking like a very flexible winner. You could play her as a traditional, very safe ENG heavy Battlecruiser like the Negh'Var and Fleet K'T'Inga. You could play her as a traditional Cannon or Beamboat. The BOFF setup immediately allows this. But the powerful Intel hybridization offers a lot.

In terms of attack power, the Intel Qib Battlecruiser has a great luxury the Escorts / Intel Escorts do not have. They retain their fixed TAC station, yet still throw on as much offense Intel abilities as the player wants. If an Intel Escort wants to play around with Intel abilities yet still pack a punch, that ship has to give up valuable TAC BOFF abilities. If an Intel Science Ship wants to toy with Intel abilities, it has to give up valuable Science abilities. But a Intel Cruiser? Not quite so.

On a related note, the Fed Intel Eclipse Cruiser is exactly in the same boat.

And the hilarious part is that the Fleet versions of these ships aren't even out yet. T5u? WTH is that? :D

    Welcome to the party! :D

It really is a refreshingly new take on things to be able to use those tactical slots on something other than attack abilities.

Also, the Scryer isn't in that bad of a shape. The limited weapon slots hamper its ability to be an offensive energy weapon ship, but it has more than enough bridge slots to fit Gravity Well+Ionic Turbulence+EMP or TBR+Safety Override.
