No you get the ability to become cloaked for a few seconds, A Battle Cloak lasts until you drop Cloak or somebody finds you. And your never going to be found in PVE.
Also the Klingon Honour Guard Space set has a similar Cloak although it's a Mass Mask Energy Signature.
Can you continue to fire weapons while this battle cloak is active?

Thanks.
No, that one is the enhanced battlecloak present only on a few ships as it is - the B'rel, the T'Varo an the new Romulan T6 ship. The enhanced battlecloak enables you to fire torpedoes and mines while remaining cloaked (well actually it goes into a 3 sec. cycle where your ship decloaks>fires>cloaks automatically). It also enables you to use many of the science abilities while your ship remains cloaked.
I'm sure alot of people were hoping for 4 - 5 tactical consoles on the Qib, but as the stats say 3 tactical consoles, i wonder if people closed their wallets and turned their eyes to the unknown raptor.
How many people still going to get it and actually use it? How many now just going to buy it to support kdf faction? How many went ewww and threw their hands up and stepped away?
Nice. Turns out the QIB has three different hull designs available (Tribble now has T6 ships in the shipyards).
I'm very much thinking that the QIB will be my first T6 purchase, though I'm slightly disappointed in having to grind B'Tran for Technicians or pay through the nose for Energy Weapons Officers to get the standard Tactical abilities to be where they need to be.

I like the 3rd version of the Qib. It reminds me of the O'Neil Class of Asgard ships from Stargate! All I need to add to it is a white hull, and I can get that from the Dyson Rep!
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!

I do like that 3-rd configuration on the Qib, with the wings reminding me slightly of the Negh'var Class. It is refreshing to see a KDF ship with more customization options..

White hull on a Klingon ship?!? You TRAITOR!!!
I would go so far as to say that every KDF player would like to also see a T6 Orion vessel, a T6 Gorn Vessel and even a T6 Nausican Vessel. There have been a lot of KDF players asking for a Ferasian vessel and to be fair I think we deserve that too.
With destroyers and battlecruisers being my perfered ship types, I would love a new Fleet or T6 Nausican Destroyer.
As for Gorn ships, I picked up the Kreen and Korath or my Gorn Science Captain. He also uses the Dyson ships as a science/destroyer when having a cloak would be useful. Frankly I like the Rom and KDF dyson ships, and they look great with KHG gear.
My Ferasan has the Jem Dreadnought and Jem HEC as his anti-Atrox ships. At least until we get a Ferasan Raider or Escort Carrier.
Not that interested in an Orion Ship, but what I would love would be an Prison Transport Ship, which could very well be of Orion design, with it's big feature being a larger Brig.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

I was initially going to buy the 3-pack and cash Cryptic 50$ back then until I found out that I couldn't use faction specific hull materials. No deal.
The sto wiki article on the Klingon Honor Guard Space set, has a picture of a Klingon Dyson Ship with the Honor Guard hull and it makes it look waaaaayyyyy more Klingon, it looks really sharp. I suggest taking a look.
I've kind of cooled on the Qib a little since getting a good look at it at the vendor on tribble. It still looks neat, and I like the setup and battlecloak it has, but this ship just seemed too... Thin to me. All the other intel ships at least seemed to make an attempt to look three-dimensional, but unless I'm remembering wrong the Qib looks like it's only half a deck thick for most of the hull.
I feel like if I picked up a model of the Qib I'd get a paper-cut, followed by K'men yelling "Qapla'! Just as planned!" and laughing as I search for a band-aid.

Oh I know that, believe me, I've investigated all the options. But what happens if I don't want to use the Honor Guard set? If I prefer some other set or shields or if in the future they make some new set that fits the ship better? Then I'm back to square one. And I'm not paying 50$ for that. If only the ship could retain the colours of the Honor Guard set or have access to such hull materials....
But most importanlty, I'm not buying those out of principle. I don't want to support such decisions I consider extremely boneheaded. I won't support ridiculous looking white stock hulls for KDF. There was literally no reason to prvent the DSDs use faction specific hull materials.
Secondly I can't even begin to ellaborate on the sheer stupidity of them having an alien bridge. Am I to believe that suddenly Starfleet, KDF or the Romulan Fleet will put their crew into alien interiors with alien environments and alien computers and circutry? On a ship they build themselves?
Last but not least, there was another thing - we were lied to. Upon the initial reveal of the DSDs, in one of the lenghtier threads many people including me asked whether these will have access to faction specific hulls and if not, we asked them to seriously consider it. The answer, comming from a dev. was not to worry, the DSD in the bundle will have access to faction specific hulls. I had made a thread about the KDF DSDs in this forum, people were worried about the hulls and I was telling them not to worry, there will be faction specific hulls. You can still find the thread somewhere around here. Needless to say, I felt like an TRIBBLE afterwards. I don't like being lied to, I don't like feeling like an TRIBBLE and I'm certainly not supporting a product that made me feel like that with 50$. Especially when the developer is lazy and since they announced themselves faction specific hulls that could only mean they said "scrap that, whatever, let's do sth else" and decided not to deliver.

Yeah is the problem with how they make the vor'cha variants the hull is way too thin and not as bulky as it should look. Then again you can't blame them because they have very little star trek knowledge of what a real one actually looks/looked like.

While remaining OT, it's worth noting that you can swap the Dyson bridge out for a more conventional one at a shipyard - it's just another customising option.

Yes, I'm fully aware of this as well. Still, it doesn't take out from the volume of stupid for having an alien bridge in the first place - for a ship built by Starfleet/KDF/RF, inteneded to be used by Starfleet/KDF/RF. It's on the same level of stupid as using the Undine or Tholian ships.

I felt like you at first but the more I look at it the more I like it. It would probably look nicer if it were a little thicker but I love the dark gray look with the red outline.
I just can't decide which weapon type to upgrade for it: DHC or beams?
I just can't decide which weapon type to upgrade for it: DHC or beams?
DHCs should look awesome coming out of the under-wing pods. I'm thinking Voth AP DHCs on mine for the machine gun/quad cannon look they have. I'm waiting on upgrading weapons until I get it in my hands, though, to give it a good shakedown to see what works well. I have both a standard/fleet AP DBB and Voth AP DHC setup that I could transfer from Mogh and Mirror Negh'var. It looks like Cryptic is trying to downplay 'FAW everywhere to win' in the newer content, explicitly so in the new Elite content, and some of the patrols reportedly have multiple enemy groups inside of 10 km that can overwhelm you if you're using Beam Arrays and FAW (hrm... might have to remove the Omni AP array or set it to manual fire on my DBB build).
I like the Thoron Infused Polaron weapons from the Delta Quadrant rep. And their yellowish colour would mesh well with the colour of this ship. Or the colour of the Delta Quadrant set, grayish brown with green highlights.

You've accepted it: It's called Stockholm Syndrome
Modified Vor'kang saucer section with a shorter, more flared neck. Vor'kang mission pod and Vor'kang nacelles. The only thing unique is the body with a few extras on it. Hopefully they have some interesting textures for it.
Fleet Qib with 4 tacs will be dominating alpha male ! Battlecloaking Battlecruiser without -40 power levels will be best ship in the game, my KDF char is happy warrior now!
of all the ships I have looked at Qib is the only one that can really use the LCDR and CDR intel powers without compromising the boff layout.
I do the same thing. I'm using this ship as a full Intel beastie although right now I'm levelling the Mah'ta. Once it's maxed out I will come back to the Qib. I'm really happy with those 2 ships. Some much so that I have a hard time just sticking to one.
I mean its really annoying. The dilithium bought Intel officers you can't trade, and I'm tactical captain. So I can't train an intel Boff in EptS/W3 so i can " feel " as if i can make use of commander intel hybrid seat.
Anyone got ideas on seating? I mean COULD run EptS2, and probably Lt.Com and Com intel powers. Or add a DEM in there. Either way I'm losing a RSP unless I make Lt.Com a RSP3 whichdefeats the whole purpose of dropping EptS/W3 in the first place.
Technically I find it really hard to move away from BFAW. Mainly cause its so, so, so good at trash clearing. If I could stomach giving it a shot, I could try something like 2x TT1, 2x APBs, and 2x Surgical Strikes with Override Safeties on the lt. sci/intel seat.
With general, non min-maxed gear. Say using, borg engines and deflector for 2pc proc, elite fleet shield and core. Yuor usual energy conduit, borg console, 8x xiii plasma arrays ( Fleet Beams. I kinda went full derp and upgraded DMGx3s. Hey. I don't pvp, I only pve, kinda didn't feel i needed so much acc at the time and figured I'd getm ore mileage out of DMG. I mean come on, DAMAGE amirite? ) Would Surgical Strikes x2 even be a good replacement for BFaW spam?
EDIT: Thinking about it I COULD, on the 2 engie slots go with...
Having the double ET1s is important, it cleanses the power offline debuff from override. Along with the EptX abilities.
I THINK double Overrides hit the GCD don't they?

at least they learned their lesson from that. wish they'd go back and add it. but thats not happening
