if you guys really really want to see dil increase in value, stop posting it at 200+. its that simple. what are you all rushing to cash your dil out for anyway? broken uniform slots? broken loadout slots? ships that are going to fall behind the power curve? uniforms that might be given away for free this weekend?
More DOFF slots. I'm at the cap with most of my toons, so I need more space on my ships.
Let this be the final nail the the coffin of the notion that Cryptic has absolutely no control over the flow of the dil exchange. They absolutely do. Had they wisely made upgrades cost dil instead, the dil rate would be improving now instead of souring like it has for the past year.
Quite the opposite.
By making Zen 'more expensive' in game, they will likely sell more Zen for cash. Good business move. More paying customers at the expense of losing non-paying customers.
The reason for this is easy even for you to understand: High prices for zen into dilithium favor those who spend real life money, but it put those who play F2P and do not have Rl money to spend at a disadvantage.
Those who play F2P greatly outnumber those who throw down RL money and when the F2P part of the community is hurt then the community as a whole and the dilithium exchange in tow will grind to a snail's pace .
Therefor, towering high conversion prices for zen into dilithium hurt everybody.
Edit: Personally i will take it very slow with upgrading the T5 ships i have in my possession and not get caught up in this frenzy.
Correct me if i missed something....the people that pay the real money keep this game alive..Correct?
I have 83,000 Zen. I think I will put it up for 250. Then 3 months from now sell it back for 150.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Ditto, except I've only got about 150 zen right now (leftovers from buying some yesterday and blowing it on a doff pack and a capacity increase).

If you do make sure you spread it out on multiple toons, remember the dil cap is 10M.
But then I don't know if it counts for dil not withdrawn from the exchange?
looks like ppl stoped spending dill on base upgrades and mk12 gear and everyone gona need 4kzen for new ships to so when expansion comes it will be capped
Anyone care to estimate the zen to diliithium ratio this time next week with people cashing in after the CC event?
I'll do a bit of market speculation when it hits the 275 - 300 range.
At worse the exchange rate will never go back down and I will use the dilithium to get rep gear for my Boffs and starships instead of converting back to Zen.
I grasp that, and I take long breaks because of it, but I also know that new Foundry missions appear daily. So if you are just interested in playing new stories then they are there to be played. If you are just sick of all things STO then just walk away for a bit. That is what I do.
No... You don't... You know that I've been following you closely... You have the golden woll on your eyes..
I never said I was sick of STO... I love being able to fly close to the ce, and just let my weapons auto fire while I get a cup of coffe, tend to my kids...
Makes earning dil for my fleet so simple, even a PWE marketing employee could do it.
The thing about the foundry is, that I decided that I could not go into it after they started bumping up suckups missions...
I have a mission in the foundry... It did really well, and people gave it above average scores...
Now it's defnetly not the best... there are things that could get improved, and I do have a re-vamped variant of it ready...
However, since they started to "spolight" the "good" stories (who tend to come from people who praise Cryptic to high heavens) I have received 4 reviews... 1 of them is from a fleet member.
That makes me unable to collect the data I need to futher improve the mission, so I had to decide that if Cryptic and PWE are actively working to prevent the people like me, who tend to look at more than just one side of things, and go head on with cryptic, then why bother?
I've even made it to the point, where IF my mission should ever make it to the spotlight, I'll kill it.
So... I stick with the Facebook principle, earn as much dil for my fleet as I can, without lifting a finger.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
I dispise stock markets morally, economy as casino, so if I want something I grind out the dilithium and I pay the zen out of cash.
That being said I still support the idea of the dil/zen exchange because it allows poorer players a greater level of particaption in the game. So its basically the only stock exchange I wouldn't love to see burnt to ashes.
stock markets are a risky thing, one moment your in the green on your figures making up points where you need them but not quite, the next moment some news breaks that inadvertently has an effect and the points tumble and your lucky to break even or lose more than you put in. you need all the information in hand and then sourcing or fishing for advanced information before the wires catches. lucky the game player economy is not like that with the dil market, i would be surprised it tips above 300 after the zen sale.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

It's still just a matter of what the players are willing to pay, and what they're willing to accept. Is the free market really that foreign a concept?
This will stabilize, but many players are cashing in while they can to have the zen necessary.
There was a time dil to zen was 300:1. Me thinks it will be there soon.

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles
I settle for 250.
Subscriber and lifer money (plus zen purchases) make the game available to those that cannot pay the free players get alot for thier money.
I dont't see the problem...if you love the game cough up some dough nothing in life is free.
I think it is more that people aren't buying Zen and selling for Dil.

Me, I'm more of a small steady increments over time kinda guy...

1 Million Dollar! [/Dr.Evil]
I don't have nearly that much but I'm thinking the same with my 3500.

That is extremely subjective.
Anyone who has 5 bucks to throw into a game would see the "dil rate" as significantly improving.
A fresh level 50 and their newfound requirement for dilithium would certainly love it.
I put mine up for 400 call me greedy but its like in real life Stock markets. Buy Cheap / Sell Expensive ^^
