The way I see it, C-Store ships are still worth getting because they are ACCOUNT unlocks. So even if they somehow are made obsolete on your top level characters... if you ever decide to make a new one guess what? C-Store ships ready to go!
T6 c-store ships will probably be account-wide as well (at least no one stated anything on the opposite), so it'd still be worth the wait.
What good is a 25$ account-wide unlock, when you're only going to be using it to level from 50 to 59 and then replace it anyway?
tier 6 ships are prolly not gonna be a lot stronger than tier 5 compare a tier 4 to a 5 not that much diff in power and if there upgradable even better if it holds true not everyone will have tier 6 because u have to craft it along with the better gear how any people are actually gonna do that i know i will but js lol to much negativity about this release im glad its changing
I fianaly have enough zen to get myself a ship. With the release of t6 ships. Is it worth it?
I dont want to waste good zen on a possably lower level ship.
I have read somewhere that some attempts will be made to make t5 ships still a valid choice
If the T5 you have your eye on now is appealing and will fill your needs now, it will fill your needs after the expansion. Any existing content and any new content is not going to be so difficult that a T5 ship can't handle it.
All this panic about waiting until X2 is mostly coming from a small group of people perpetually obsessed with having the newest, bestest toys and being seen by others to have them.
Unless they come out with a dramatically upgraded Defiant, I will continue to fly my existing T5 Fleet Defiant and be perfectly happy with it and my Mk XII gear. I will be able to complete all the content I do now, and all that will be introduced with Delta Rising.
Especially if the move up from T5/Mk XII to T6/Mk XIV requires one to use the crafting system. Not everyone is interested in it or has any desire to use it. Some people even actively disdain it.

When is the last time anyone has seen an Atrox or Kumari. That should give you an idea of how bad they are.
I fly an Atrox. Fleet upgrade now actually. This is my heavy science ship that got my first character to T5 Omega because I had a job to do and was good at it. I don't die in solo PVE and I am not a drag in STFs. Actually supporting the goals.
So if you are not seeing too many Atrox's, maybe too many are chasing the shiny instead of learning to fly reliable?
As to the OP, tough call. If you are saving up Zen. Wait for the expansion. If you put in cash, buy what you want to fly. Aim for fun and figure out how to make it good from there.

Anything below T5 because of the consoles: sure
But i certainly won't touch any of the T5 Ships in the Store*
(until a Devblog with more than just "Fluff"-text about the new ships).
Save the Zen, EC and Dilithium and you will be well prepared!
My personl Opinion: They will allow a Upgrade of old C-Store/Fleet Ships to 99% or 95% or whatever of a T6 Ships ... for a Price (*and THAT is the real crunchpoint), they will bring out just 10 Ships for all Factions, impossible to cover all Playstyles with so few!
Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...

They've done it before, you know?
This is 100% true...
Then again... Did anyone ask?
I'm not reasoning the Vesta bundle. I'm using common sense to evaluate the situation. To me, it's not a bad buy.
With release of Fleet ships they offered upgrade for any kind of ship, except a few ones.

Wasn't talking about fleet ships... Obviously thats a good example, but I was actually talking about TRIBBLE people over.

I still use my Kumari and love the ship. And it is fully equipped with Andorian weapons.

Kumari bundle is actually the only C-Store purchase I regret.

I haven't bought the Kumari yet. I regret the Scimitar bundle.

You can state that till hell freezes over. It doesn't make it true.
