that's because transphasics have the lowest damage of all torpedoes (but you already knew that). Transphasics are for the extra bleed through and since AAs have no shields they're the worst choice for taking them out. A photon setup will take one out in one pass. I like to use TBR myself.
The Transphasics I spoke of in the above mentioned scenario is buffed by 4 X MK XII very rare Transphasic Tact Consoles + Breen 2 piece set bonus for Transphasic dmg + T'Varo 2 piece bonus to projectile dmg + fired while cloaked for additional dmg bonus. When upgraded as such, they do as much dmg as Mk XII Quantum Torpedo of same grade without boost from tactical console. In other words, if you fire a regular Quantum TS III that is not buffed by tact consoles, you may not be able to destroy the AA, that's how wicked they are. If I have to guess, each AA has about 20K in hit points though I haven't checked to be sure.
Funny story. Last night I entered a PvP premade match with Mini on the opposing end. Usually using my Voth Shield just prevents me from dying from his alpha strike. Unfortunately for Mini, this time it reflected back to him 56K of damage and boom he went.
Also, I will mention, my Tyken's and shields will soon get a boost thanks to crafting.
Ultra Rare Exotic Particle Field Exciter (UR only has Flow Caps, not VR)
+32 Flow Cap
+32 Particle Generators
+21.2% Shield Capacity
P.S. I'm a fan of the "expensive boff ability". It's a shame 99% of players ignore it, even sci ones.
I need one of those for my drainer! And pray tell what this expensive boff abilty is please? You guys talk in riddles lol!
Can someone post 1 or 2 of these amazing drain builds? Never had super effective drain builds even on KDF science toon.

How about some thematic comps?
3x Palisade, a Bastion, and a Bulwark
2x Narcine, an Advanced Obelisk, a Recluse, and a Jem'Hadar Dreadnought
3x Adapted Destroyer and 2x Adapted Battle Cruiser
2x Orb Weaver and 3x Recluse
3x Nicor and 2x Dromias
I posted a vesta one in the vesta help thread you had started.
Of course now you can put an Aceton on there as well... which you couldn't when I posted it.
What makes a drain build work is a handful of things.
1) Boost flow caps as much as you can
2) Run 2-3 Deflector doffs... and slot Tykens Siphen GW and if you can a tachyon beam. They all proc the doff and by running 4 skills that proc the doffs you can keep your tykens rift and siphen at global.
3) Don't be an idiot with your SA and nuke. Try to set your targets up with combos of stacks of SA and Well timed nukes to ensure the least number of clears are up for tykens and siphen. Most people don't think about rolling there counters so you can often nuke the timers on Hazards and Engi team at the same time and stack 4 drains with a AA equipped vesta now.
Of course the ultimate drain ship is still the pallisade... as you also have the Voth Aceston console that turns your ship into an extra aceton.
Yes, you have a decent build but I haven't seen Tychon's Rift be really effective if you have a single ship. Even with other holds it still too easy to fly away from TR
1. Evasive
2. Omega
3. EptE
4. Deuterium or other speed boost
Coupled with EpT Dampners and it is bye bye birdie. Agree with many of your other suggestions but TR is very situational and best if used on ship with slowed speed and otherwise ensnared. I also didn't neglect SA.

Sub nuke All the cleans doffs in the world don't replace buffs that have gone bye bye.
Honestly sci is always about timing. Doesn't matter what build you are running.
Some times yes it involves holding your drain roll for a bit and looking for the opening.
At some point though. Mr. Zippy escort is going to have a 15s gap in there omega and be silly enough to be in tractor range. If you have timed there hazards well enough. Its not that hard to tractor target engines siphen tykens... spam some torps and yes watch then explode.

When I played I used something like this on my drain'fi-regular kar'fi, didn't have fleet one. Oh and toon is female Orion-most important part lol.

EPS is a two way street. It giveth quick and it taketh just as fast.
It taketh away very little if your up against a drain build and it's about the most effective counter. A drain build is a very specialized and difficult build to pull off. So I would say if you can counter an entire build with 1 or 2 consoles your doing pretty good. It's pretty simple run your normal setup if you run into a drain team throw on your eps consoles.
Just a quick PSA: You can push graviton generators so high that you can create a gravity well with a diameter of almost 20Km, plus aftershocks. Seen this one used in PvP and it's fun to see.
Another quick PSA: You can build a Nebula with so much sensors skill that you can see cloaked ships from extremely far away.
Lol, nothing funner than sucking them into a GW, than pop off some grav torpedoes to swirl them into a mix, all while sucking the life out of them with ES, and just when they thought the worst is over, blam rains down a TR while holding them with a TB, or TBR (doffed), or even the risan cruiser console, and oh no more incoming grav torpedoes.:D:P

I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
