Can we please have Marriage in this game?

Cross-gender,cross-species, crossfaction...


with the bonus that 2 married toons have soem sort of team/marriage buff if they are on the same map.

and with the ability to team up crossfaction when you both are married =)

    This is a creepy suggestion. Not for the potential pairings we might see, but the very idea that someone is trying to forcibly insert some Second Life/imvu junk into this game. Sad face.

    Gender is too confusing for new players. ;) Cryptic is replacing it with Hentai-like ambiguously asexual representation. Enjoy!

    There is the Formal Dress costume that can be used in a RP wedding. Although due to obvious reasons, we can't RP a Betazoid wedding. Players are free to act however they like within reason and have whatever backstory they want.

    The crossfaction teamup is an all or nothing possible feature. Either everyone can use crossfaction teamup or no one can.

    I don't think I'd like to see toons being "married" tbh. Though if a married couple or whatever were playing together, I suppose an account flag that gave them a small buff when teamed together in pve wouldn't be too out of order. Though administering it might be problematic.
    How would cryptic know that a couple were actually together so that they could set the flag? The support teams can't very well go through marriage records or come to your house and interview you or anything can they?
    I need a beer.

    This is best left to the realms of RP. Married characters getting a buff or some other gameplay advantage that unmarried ones wouldn't have access to seems rather unfair to me and not something I am in favor of.

    You can rp it, doubt we ever get a system for it. A lot of other things that have been requested over the years for emmsersive game play that we will never see at this point.

    no. in future all humanity (does not exclude other non human races) will be one big happy family. no need for mariage.

    Well atleast marriage so we can crossfaction team with the other players.. i would even pay 500 Zen to get me and my partner married ingame..

    and no the idea i didnt see in second life.. i played linage II for years and there they had this marriage function it was nice they even had /teletolover when married.. so you could teleport to you spouse if she was on the same map =)


    Also we have dammed pets...they have no use at all but we have them...

    i mainly want cross-faction teaming... with marriage it woudl have a reason.

    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    While it's certainly not unprecedented in various other MMOs (ESO -- Elder Scrolls Online -- comes to mind as one of the bigger and most recent ones, with it's 'Rings of Mara' in the Imperial Edition), I'm not sure that this is really the best thing to ask for here in STO. If the issue is cross-faction grouping (which it seems to be) then I'd much rather see cross-faction grouping added for everyone and leave the marriages/unions in the realm of RP.

    I think that would perhaps be of greatest benefit to the most players to have it implemented that way, for everyone, without added conditions.

    No problem with the concept. I don't care about cross-species or gender issues. More power to ya if it makes any difference.

    I draw the line at bonuses for working together above and beyond what 2 people working together already get by... working together.

    Lineage II was also a dreadful pain in the TRIBBLE to install and get working (for me anyway), and you couldn't even more your dude with the WASD keys. I know precisely 1 person who played it (same person who convinced me to try it) and even his opinion of it was mixed.

    If you want Cross-Faction Teams, then perhaps an aspect like that can be made a part of the DIPLOMACY field; you know, the one that gives you Transwarp options to places and stuff. Seeing as it lets you into enemy space with the buff.

    Additionally, the pets do literally nothing. That's why they are called "Vanity Items". So unless you're seeking a trophy husband, you won't see anything like this added to the game.

    PS: I've seen married couples. If they play true to form, that buff will get less and less useful over time, until your hubbie/wife/partner is always late for everything and sleeps through all the missions YOU want to go on. They stop being interested in taking a trip to the aquatics lab for sex in the swimming pool. It'll just be miserable.
