A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Passion and Serenity are one.
I gain power by understanding both.
In the chaos of their battle, I bring order.
I am a shadow, darkness born from light.
The Force is united within me.
-grabs popcorn and munches- Ok we got popcorn -sets up beer stand- OK -grabs sam addams- continue guys.
but in all seriousness. Love F2p or hate it, it did indeed save the game. Why? Because of Atari's mismanagement and look at the state of the world back then. Most people could not or did not want to pay the 15 bucks a month, then ontop of it pay for anything in the c-store.
Add in like other p2p games they were BLEEDING customers and it was no longer profitable.
Then comes f2p and it revives the game. Players come back and they bring in new players. And the f2p model here, one of the best in the business. Unlike SWtOR who basically gives you TRIBBLE and forces you to spend atleast what 40-50 bucks to get the bare essentials, STO doesn't do that.
They give you the essentials the say "hey want that shiny ship? Well you can grind it or just pay 25 bucks and it's yours". Which is a much better model if you ask me.
Sorry for you nostalgic people out there, but f2p, did indeed save this game now matter how you slice it.
ok nuff rambiling -munches popcorn then sips beer- Still waiting on the mod.

No link off hand, but I've seen it tossed around a couple of times. Some of the threads were deleted instead of just closed so it's a bit hard to track down.
There have been a series of continuing problems that the company refuses to address and we are currently looking at the FTP as the main source of the problem. Star Trek Online only has one server that we are aware of, but we are looking to the community to begin a petition against STO to remand the Free to Play. This FTP has brought every kind of child from World of ******** and beyond to our world where many of us are Betas' & pre-launch Lifetime Subscribers.
Many of us have put a lot of work & effort into this game including all of the people that have built the Foundry to what it is today. Many of the folks in the community, myself & my staff included don't believe this is fair to us. We all have so much invested that FTP should have NEVER been an option to begin with. Please take time to check the Forums and leave feedback. Also keep an eye out for the Petition to revoke FTP and sign it.
Oh my, there goes my status in STO. I'm a silver player and have enjoyed the game as much as you lifers and vets alike. I too have spent some real currency in this game for minor items. I am not an inferior player because I play F2P games, so why kill off that portion of the population that deem themselves F2P Players?
Wow, the OP is one hack of a Troll, even SFD jumped on the band wagon to beat him(or her) back !!!!
Didn't anyone stop to ask, why, by page 3 had the OP not posted again ??, then by page 10 even Stevie Wonder could clearly see how bad the trolling session was with this thread.
Best part is, ain't the first time that OP has done this. And so, so many of you reacted - again
There are mice in a Lab out there, just finishing their little maze, currently feeling smarter than you lot :P
@ OP Well done, I'd not have thought you'd get away with that style of trolling twice. Bravo.
may he got really serious to the point of nerd rage, vented on the forum, everyone posting how silly this line of thought is with some good logic in some of them and others out right bear baiting :P. then he got embarrassed enough hes not coming back of reading the thread, but its entirely possible the op may of just done some reading so for all i know hes about to try make a grovelling excuse.
if it was his second trolling session and you know it is, the question is on you, why are you not helping the mods to prevent the issue? :P
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Search youtube for "Incident at Risa resort", it's the one with the awful CG thing talking through a voice changer. You will see someone seriously state that they would shoot to kill legally, at least in their utterly warped vision of legal, because of a party amp in STO if we were all in Florida.
Also I can confirm that thread as well as many other absolutely deranged threads involving party amps, poppers, surfboard racing, and anything else vaguely social. We have even seen threads made by blatant online predators endorsing the exploitation of minors.
Some people in this game can really be messed up.
As to the original thread, OPs idea is still stupid, and it does not require more than a basic grasp of economics and business modeling to understand why. I probably still have some links to texts I used in uni on those topics if anyone really wants to go learn more about that side of it, good stuff to know in general really.
Petition threads are not allowed, no matter what the subject matter is, so I am closing this thread.

It is not F2P that has ruined it, its greed, plain and simple ! (Company and Players)

Honestly, how the heck could anyone think of this? Likely a troll. A rather effective one it would seem.
