Tala: No... I think you handle it about as well as her. Given time to think you dwell on it and beat yourself down. But have something to focus on, 9 times out of 10 you'll power through.
You two are more alike than you realize.
Its not that she doesn't care. Its more than likely she cares a little too much. She doesn't want to cause any stress. Which has caused problems for her in the past. And our lack of an assigned counselor doesn't help either.

Then again we tend to drive counselors away. Haven't found one yet that can handle our kind of crazy.
You know the old saying that its lonely at the top? Well... its pretty true. Even though everyone supports her, I think one of her fears is that she'll be sidelined due to her rank. Those Admiral pips are heavy. At times she is desperate to prove she's not a desk jocky. That she's still the same person she was back when she was a Captian. So she pushes herself more.
I think more than once she had to literally be kicked to get her to snap out of a rut. As her friend from the Academy... I know that from experience. Pretty sure my boot found her a couple times.

This Hur'q craziness isn't helping either. We've already contacted Starfleet Command about our friendly, and Kayla's already trying to determine what happened after the Hur'q got sprayed with Ketracel. She might try to coordinate with DS9's medical staff soon. With luck we'll hear back from Command soon. In the meantime Exeter is on standby as a reaction force. We got some downtime until we get a call. So... go remind her about family and get her mind off the stress. Think you'll both feel better with some R&R.

I'm stressed out because I don't know where or when the Hur'q will strike because there is no pattern to their attacks.
