Krystal: Because its who we are. Years ago the Romulans lost their homeworld to an unusual Supernova in another system. While the Star Empire was rather antagonistic to the Federation, another group emerged that eventually became the Romulan Republic. We helped them to establish themselves on their new homeworld.

If no one tries, nothing changes. But at the same time... knowing when to step in and when to back off can be a balancing act. If we can stay true to ourselves and our ideals...

Recently the Federation and its allies were faced with a powerful enemy. We were outmatched in virturally every way. And we had a terrible choice to make. The plan was to actually go back in time 200,000 years to when Iconia was bombarded to prevent any of them from escaping. We believed that the Iconians were always hostile.

We were wrong.

The Iconians of the past were no different from us. They were attacked back then by species they didn't give technology to because they knew the tech would be perverted into weapons. Those races attacked out of spite. Even though it meant condemning the future, we saved the Iconians of the past and preserved the timeline. But in so doing, we actually gained the means to end the war in our own time.

Because we saved the Iconians, we're here in this Galaxy now. The Iconians eventually came here after escaping Iconia in the past. Maybe... we were meant to come here. I don't know. What I do know... is that it doesn't matter where you're from, if someone right in front of you needs help... do what feels right.

Garrus: Will your people step in and cure the Genophage?

Rose: I do not know. If the records are to be believed, then only the foolish can disagree with the actions then, but when is it time to say they have been justly punished? Also, it will take time to figure out how to do it, meaning we need alot of information about it, and I doubt the Salarians would be willing to part with it.

Garrus: More likely they would sabotage it in such a way you make it work better.

(it's only been MAYBE two weeks since the end of the war - no way in hell can even the dominion build a starbase THAT quickly...maybe throw together a repair yard and some supply containers, but that's it)​​

Garrus: Well, becuase they proabaly need a a place away from the people that were attacking them. a place to rebuild. If thier enemies had no way to transverse the intergalactic void, its a good idea.
